Known Critical Issues ID First Affected KI ( ) KI KI KI Status Description After x weeks of operation recordgs are termated prematurely due to timeout on passive, SPAN-based direct NIC capturg solutions with specific HW/NIC/Virtual env conditions. In some conditions NIC/wpcap and OS clock is out of sync and over time (more weeks) the clock drift can accumulate and reach call timeout threshold. - only impacts Passive SPAN-port based recordg - does NOT affect Media Collector source and remote capturg on Media Collector (most Lync recordg deployments) - the issue happens on rare combations of specific platforms dependg on NIC, NIC driver and virtualization environment (cases found virtualized, but SPAN port based systems) - it might happen several weeks after recorder service has been up and runng (depends on hw) - recordg sessions termated prematurely (before call ends) with end cause: call timeout (calls are only partially recorded) - Set higher call activity/timeout threshold (def 180 sec -> 600 sec) - Restart recorder service every weekend Call length mismatch due to silence suppression If there is no RTP sent any direction sce both side are on mute/do not talk Lync stops sendg RTP (or at call start does not start sendg RTP). These gaps between voice parts (where RTP is sent) are filled, but the gap (if there is any) between call start - first voice RTP and last voice RTP - call end cannot filled. - this issue leads to losg silent segments, but not actual voice recordg - it leads to time difference between presented recordg time and actual recordg time of media - mostly conference calls are affected, especially the first participant who is on mute until others arrive - there are currently no known workarounds After updatg to Skype for Busess clients, P2P calls are dropped when proxy server based recordg is used. - P2P calls dropped when the new Skype for Busess client is used - effects all P2P calls - all stallations are effected where proxy server based recordg is used - Currently there are no known workarounds Usg a very large AD might cause timeout issues the AD sync process. An AD timeout can lead to unwanted reconfiguration of the recorded users when only a subset of the configured users are retrieved from the AD durg the sync process due to timeout. Verba 8.1 Service Build Release Notes (build ) Release Notes Page 2 of 8
KI KI KI if the AD query runs too long, it can lead to unwanted reconfiguration of the recorded users, which can result to loss of recordgs - there is no dication or alert if timeout occurs - clude (ObjectCategory=person) the search filter to reduce search time - creasg the timeout value on the AD side might prevent this issue Amazon permanently disabled the built- Amazon SES SMTP account and it can no longer be used to send alerts from the system. Customers need to configure their own SMTP server for sendg s. This is due to an Amazon policy decision outside of our control. - all deployments are affected where the built- Amazon SES based account was configured to send alerts - the system cannot send any alert until it is reconfigured to use another SMTP server - configure SMTP server settgs There is one way audio recordgs after SIP re-vites when media bypass is active. The SfB/Lync Filter service does not recognize the SIP re-vite messages properly when media bypass is active, and the call is only partially rerouted through the proxy. This results one way audio the recordgs after the first re-vite. The re-vite period is controlled by the session timer configured for the connection between the gateway and the SfB/Lync system. All 7.0 and later SfB/Lync recordg deployments usg proxy based recordg are affected where media bypass is configured with SIP session timer. The Verba SfB/Lync Filter does not recognize SIP re-vite messages properly when media bypass is active and the call is only partially rerouted through the proxy. This results one way audio the recordgs after the first re-vite. The re-vite period is controlled by the session timer configured for the connection between the gateway and the SfB/Lync system. When the default SIP session timer settg (1800s) is used, the first re-vite is sent after 15 mutes. Thus all bound or outbound calls longer than 15 mutes are affected. Prior to the re-vite, recordgs conta both directions. Disablg the session timer or media bypass completely resolves the issue Recordg failure due to new, unsupported RTP header extension latest Skype for Busess 2016 clients. Affects all Skype for Busess 2016 P2P calls between UCCAPI/ OC/ or newer clients - media stream processg error causes recordg failure due to a new RTP header extension - more formation is expected on other affected call scenarios and client/server versions - affects all Verba releases with all types of SfB/Lync recordg deployments - currently there are no known workarounds KI Verba 8.1 Service Build Release Notes (build ) Release Notes Page 3 of 8
Siren7 decodg problem is causg garbled decodg of voice certa cases. All Lync/SfB recordg deployments are affected. KI KI Intermittently causes garbled voice recordg when Siren7 voice codec is used for the call - The recordg quality is varyg for the garbled recordgs, from light impact to severe degradation of quality - Siren7 voice codec is maly used for Lync 2010 Wdows endpots and Skype for Busess 2015 IOS/Android devices when network is degraded - Siren7 voice codec is also used for Lync 2010/2013 and Skype for Busess 2015 meetgs durg poor network conditions - currently there are no known workarounds In a HA deployment, when multiple Verba Recordg Servers are configured, then if the network connection goes down on any of the Verba Recordg Servers, all IM communication stops as some of the Cisco IM&P Servers will not be able to establish the connection to another Verba Recordg Server, causg all IM to stop. Cisco IM&P Servers are not able to reconnect to the Verba Recordg Server after the connection is broken. All Verba deployments configured for Cisco IM recordg or ethical wall are affected where multiple Verba Recordg Servers are deployed a failover configuration. All Cisco IM&P versions are affected. - Recordg/Compliance server failover does not work, the Cisco IM&P Server is not able to properly detect Verba Recordg Server network failures - All IM communication is blocked by the Cisco IM&P Servers (compliance mode) if Fire&Forget is disabled Cisco has fixed the issue and released an updated library. Now the library correctly handles OS level TCP keep alive. In addition to replacg the library, two registry entries are required under HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: KeepAliveTime=10 and KeepAliveInterval=5000. A server restart is required for the new settgs to take effect. Lync / Skype for Busess IM conversations might not be recorded after recordg and processg 10,000 RTF based messages. All Lync / Skype for Busess IM recordg deployments are affected. This issue affects IM conversations which are usg the RTF format. Lync 2013 or newer desktop clients are usg the RTF format for P2P IM conversation when both participants are usg a desktop client. Conferences, mobile, and consumer Skype conversations are not affected by this issue. - When the stant message is transmitted usg the RTF format, the Verba Lync / SfB IM Filter application (on the FE servers) can use all available Wdow handles due to the improper deallocation of the RTF parser. - The service stops processg RTF based stant messages after approx. 10,000 RTF messages (after all Wdows handles are consumed) - No alert or notification sent when the issue occurs - The RTF message format can be disabled by a client policy, for more formation see DisableRTFIM Verba 8.1 Service Build Release Notes (build ) Release Notes Page 4 of 8
KI KI ( ) In case an valid regular expression is used for ternal number patterns, calls are not recorded. All version 7.x or later recordg deployments where the Verba Passive Recorder Service, the Verba Media Collector and Proxy Service and the Verba Unified Call Recorder Service are used for recordg could be affected. Calls are not recorded by the related service when an valid regular expression is applied for one of the followg settgs: - Passive Recorder \ Basics \ Internal Number Pattern - Media Collector and Proxy \ General \ Internal Doma, Numbers Pattern - Unified Call Recorder \ Recordg Providers \ General \ Internal Doma, Numbers Pattern The system uses these configuration settgs to identify the direction of recorded calls. The affected services do not raise an alarm, except the Verba Unified Call Recorder Service which will send a CallProcessg alert. Remove any valid regular expressions from the followg configuration settgs: - Passive Recorder \ Basics \ Internal Number Pattern - Media Collector and Proxy \ General \ Internal Doma, Numbers Pattern - Unified Call Recorder \ Recordg Providers \ General \ Internal Doma, Numbers Pattern An onle regexp validator is available to verify regexp patterns at Enter the regexp value the put box, then press the Test button to verify the expression. Short extra Lync recordg segments the begng of Edge calls Routg of media streams might be changed up to 10 seconds to a call by Lync. In case multiple Verba recorders are used with proxy recordg, the modified media stream might be process as a new call. - effects Lync / Skype for Busess recordg, proxy mode and only redundant recorder setup - effects mor subset of calls gog through Lync Edge servers - the begng of the call might be cut off to a separate short recordg - currently there are no known workarounds Critical Fixes ID Component Description Fixed RI Recordg - Lync/SfB SIP dialog timeout creased from 1 to 4 hours due to termittently missg SIP session keepalive Lync. : - media loss do not occur - real termation cause of the calls is not known to the recorder as SIP End is not processed - desktop agent can not stop screen recordg when this happens RI Platform - Media Processg Possible audio decoder buffer underrun if mixg receives media only on one channel stead of from expected both channels Verba 8.1 Service Build Release Notes (build ) Release Notes Page 5 of 8
- might lead to voice quality issue on one of the two audio channels - only on Lync solutions - less than 0.01% of recordgs If you are usg the effected components, we recommend a software update. Feature Improvements ID Component Description Added RI Security Role support for Bulk User Import RI Recordg - Cisco New configuration option for SCCP voic recordg RI UI - Reportg New Role and Permission report RI Platform - Database More detailed source/destation device fo stored RI Platform - Media Processg More detailed media processg log RI Platform - Monitorg New notification target is added to the system monitor, the system monitor can write the alerts to the Wdows Eventlog RI Platform - Signallg Registry option allows mergg of transferred calls to one recordg stead of multiple call legs RI Integrations Access control roles implemented Provisiong Web Services API (v2) RI Integrations Call samplg improvements for Luware and Prairie Fyre calls RI Integrations Actiance Vantage recordg policy synchronization Verba 8.1 Service Build Release Notes (build ) Release Notes Page 6 of 8
