1 AIX Preparing for Live Partition Mobility Operations This session covers the configuration requirements for relocating logical partitions from one server to another using Live Partition Mobility. Checklists for the management console, the managed system, the Virtual I/O Servers, and the mobile partition wil Active Memory Sharing, Deduplication, and LPAR Suspend and Resume This session covers the configuration of the PowerVM Active Memory Sharing (AMS) function, the use of memory deduplication, and LPAR suspend and resume operations. You will install a Systems Director Common Agent on a Managed End Point (MEP), followed by discovering, accessing and inventorying the MEP. You will then have the opportunity to explore a variety of Systems Director monitoring functions. Working with AIX Workload Partitions (WPARs) Ted Sullivan Come learn the basics of creating application and system WPARs using various configuration options. This hands-on self-paced lab will allow you to explore the configuration options and administration of WPARs on your own, with help available if needed. PowerHA SystemMirror 7.1 cluster configuration - Ted Sullivan Attendees will configure a two node PowerHA SystemMirror cluster using the recently release 7.1 code. Implementing AIX security features Ted Sullivan In this lab session you will be able to choose among the following AIX security features: RBAC, Encrypted File systems, Trusted Execution, Configure long passwords, AIX 7 enhancements or AIXpert. Many of the selections will require an entire lab session to complete. This session will cover performance management terminology, AIX performance monitoring, analysis and tuning tools and the methodology behind using those tools for performance management purposes. Analyzing and Resolving AIX 7 CPU Based Performance Issues In this Advanced CPU Performance session you will be shown how to measure and analyze complex performance issues on virtual and physical CPUs. This session will use actual PMR based case studies to show you how to use advanced AIX monitoring tools such as system trace, tprof and curt to identify the cause of CPU constraints and some tuning considerations you can use to optimize system performance. Analyzing and Resolving AIX 7 Memory Based Performance Issues In this Advanced Memory Performance session you will be shown how to measure and analyze complex memory performance issues on Power Systems running AIX 7. This session will use actual PMR based case studies to show you how to use advanced AIX monitoring tools such as svmon and ipcs as well as giving you some tuning considerations that can help optimize system performance. Analyzing and Resolving I/O Related Performance Problems In this Advanced I/O Performance session you will be shown some techniques you can use to measure, analyze, and tune complex I/O performance issues on IBM pseries systems running AIX 7. This course will describe the characteristics of conventional I/O, direct I/O, concurrent I/O, and asynchronous I/O. The students will be able to identify if the expected type of I/O is being executed. TCP/IP Networking Performance Analysis Methodology and Tools for AIX 7 In this advanced Network Performance session you will be shown some techniques for measuring, analyzing and tuning common TCP/IP network performance issues on AIX 7. This course will describe some of the common network performance management challenges we face as AIX system administrators, some tools we can use to monitor our network performance and strategies for tuning AIX for optimum network performance.
