CNC equipment distributed monitoring system based on cloud computing technology provides a sable and reliable remote real time monitoring system to monitoring a mount of CNC equipment distributed in a large wide area by wireless network and GPRS communication technology which can be used to remote diagnostics and improve service respond speed. Introduction The industry of CNC(Computer numerical control)equipment in China has achieved great development from the product range, quality and technical level of production. Some major breakthrough in key technologies also have been made in recent years. According to statistics, at present, there are more than 1,500 species CNC equipment available for market of domestic. Chinese CNC machine industry has entered a period of rapid development [1]. With the rapid development of selling and manufacturing of CNC equipment,it becomes more and more important to maintain and repair their products for those manufactures. Currently, many CNC equipment are used as isolated devices in terminal users as Fig.1 showing which only can be accessed by cable by IPC(Industrial Personal Computer ). Simple CNC system Fig.2. Complex CNC system For this two kinds of system,it is very difficult to manufacture to remote diagnose or repair their products if those CNC equipment have some problems. They must send engineers to terminal users and bring some special tools. As the great development of computer science and technology having achieved in recent years, it becomes possible to design a remote real time monitoring system of CNC equipment based on cloud computing. Cloud computing is a distributed computing by making a large number of distributed computers, rather than the local computer or a remote server, running enterprise data centers and the Internet will be more similar. This allows companies to switch to the application of the resources required, according to demand access to a computer and storage system [2]. By introducing cloud computing technology into the CNC equipment monitoring system, the terminal user needn t to install a server platform and apply a public network address and port to receive and handle testing data from the field devices installed on the CNC equipment. This way not only saves money to install and run a server but also improves the system s stability and testing efficiency. Using cloud computing There are four advantages to build a CNC equipment monitoring system base on cloud computing technology as follows [3] : 1). Powerful computing capabilities; 2). Server virtualization, cloud computing allows users at any location, using a variety of terminal access to application services. The requested resource from the "cloud" instead of fixed tangible entity. Applications running somewhere in the "cloud", but in fact users do not understand, do not worry specific location applications running. Only need a laptop or a cell phone, it can be achieved through the network service everything we needed, even including such tasks supercomputing. 3) High reliability, "cloud" using multiple copies of data fault tolerance, isomorphic interchangeable compute nodes and other measures to protect the high reliability of service, using cloud computing reliable than using the local computer. 4) High expansibility, "cloud" expanses dynamically to meet the needs of applications and user. Some CNC equipment can send data to server by TCP/IP protocol,others must use a middle device named data collection device which can transfer CNC equipment s data from field bus to Ethernet. The data collection devices transfer data to the server on cloud computing platform by GPRS or internet.business management module has been distributed on cloud computing platform in application layer serving as SaaS(Software-as-a-Service ) module. The support layer includes web service,database and application service serving as PaaS(Platform-as-a- Service ). This layer also includes management of physical resource,cloud storage and virtual storage to support terminal user s application serving as IaaS(Infrastructure-as-a- Service) [4]. Software design 1 Client management This function module allows manufacture to register product into database so that those client can be permitted to access the equipment s data by cloud computing platform.every client has one unique Id given after buying products from seller at first time. Every data collection has only unique ID too which must be registered for a client when it was sold out. For manufactures, they have different level authority to access data. Higher authority means more number of devices data being accessed. 2 CNC management This function module allows manufactures to build their CNC equipment record on cloud computing platform including those information such as CNC equipment s name,selling time, device s Id and other base information of monitoring equipment. Other function modules must base on the unique record. If the record of one equipment was deleted,then any data depending on the record will be lost forever. 3 Tag configure This function module allows user to define those variable based on the protocol used in this system, and also define the reasonable sample interval. Some other parameters can be defined in this module such as alarm limits. 4 Service support Terminal user can get service support here by inputting product s unique serial number such as software update, etc. User also can get simple answers from here about some exceptions. 5 Real time data collection This function module allows clients to view the real-time data from those CNC equipment through internet by PC,iPad, Smart phone or other mobile smart devices. 6 Remote diagnostic This function module realizes remote diagnostic by analysis real time data and history data with symptom data stored in expert database. 8 Application service This module completes communication between server and data collections in real-time mode. The relationship of every function module is just like as showing in Fig.4.

The relationship of function modules User terminal software Because terminal users can use devices such as PC,notebook,laptop,tablet PC or smart phone to access data from cloud computing platform by internet connection [5]. So the terminal flat software is necessary and useful based on android system. Here using ADT (Android Development Tools) to develop a terminal application on android, user can use smart mobile device to send commands and application request to cloud computing platform and then get data from internet. All data handling have been done based on cloud computing technology which can significantly reduced user s cost and save time of CNC equipment s service. 5. Conclusion After a number of relevant units of the trial, A CNC equipment distributed monitoring system based on cloud computing technology is stable and reliable. It can greatly improve the efficiency and reduce cost and reach the design requirements, to meet the needs of the relevant manufactures and units of CNC equipment monitor. This system can t be only used in CNC equipment monitoring system,but also other distributed detection system in different areas.
