4 4 Optional Items Cutter Optional cutter for cutting labels, tags or tickets up to a weight of 160g/m 2. Back feed is included for cutting. Dispenser kit Dispenser provides the automatic peel-off function. Real time clock (RTC) card The RTC module consists of two major components: A Real time clock withe battery back-up. 5 5 Communication Specifications label printers send and receive messages through serial or parallel communication interface. The printer checks each interface for incoming message automatically. Serial interface specification The serial interface of the is a standard RS-232C port with standard 9-pin (DB9-S) connector located at the rear of the printer. The baud rate is user selectable by sending a command to the printer. Data bit can be set as 7/8 data bits one/no parity for both sending and receiving. Baud rate: 600, 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, and Data format: Always 7 or 8 data bits; 1,2 stop bit. Parity: Note, even, odd parity. Handshaking : XON/XOFF as well as CTS/RTS (hardware flow control). If you run an application with the bundled printer driver under Windows and use the serial port, you should check the above parameters and set the flow control to Xon/Xoff or hardware. Parallel interface specification The parallel interface of the is a standard Centronics port with standard 36-pin connector located at the rear of the printer. A standard parallel cable can be used for the interconnection between the host controller and the printer.
