1 April Newsletter April 2018 Volume 16 Number 4 In this issue: Job Highlights Code of Excellence Safety Award Safety Technology Announcements Birthdays IBEW #375 Job Highlights At the beginning of November 2017, Bill Miller and newly hired foreman Spencer Henry began the renovation of IBEW Local 375 s new building at 101 S 7 th St. in Allentown. The project had a furious pace, needing to be complete by January 2 nd because Local 375 sold their existing building on Liberty St and needed to be out by mid-january. This was a full renovation that included: power, rough in data and lighting, Lutron lighting controls, Eastern Time fire alarms and HVAC controls Brian Yetter and the fab shop did an excellent job of assembling all of the pre-fab work and getting it onsite in only a few weeks, even though they had several other projects kicking off at the same time. Everyone pulled together and a tremendous amount of work was accomplished in just two months. Many thanks to Bill, Spence, Scott Moyer, Tim Casteline, Eric Strohl, and the entire crew for their hard work and excellent craftsmanship. Allen Beardsworth, Jr. Project Manager

Safety Lee Cunningham Safety is the most important part of every job and must always be the first thought in everyone s mind.every day and on every job. Striving to provide the safest work environment that we can; not becoming complacent with our daily work habits and being mindful of those around us, will help to keep everyone safe and help to build/strengthen our company s safety culture; making us the safest company in the Lehigh Valley. Unfortunately, the environments that we work in, come with many hazards and while nobody wants to get injured, the risk is always present. In order to reduce these risks, we must stay alert and make sure that everyone on the job site has safety first and foremost on their minds. We need to create the safest work environment for everyone on the job site. This can only be accomplished by working together with all of the trades. This will not only help us, it will also benefit the project and ultimately the customer. Our company goal has always been to have zero injuries and for everyone to get home safely each day. Let s all keep pushing for a strong Safety Culture throughout the company. Lee

3 Tools BROTHER P-TOUCH LABELERS Brother has developed a new labeler built specifically for our industry. These labelers are more durable, easier to use and have capabilities of both the original Ptouch labelers and The Panduit PLS models. The four models that will be seen out in the field are the 110, 300, 500, and 550W. These printers use HGe tapes, which are designed for faster printing with these printers PT-E110 Tape Family TZe and He TZe Tape Sizes: 9/64", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" (3.5mm, 6mm, 9mm, 12mm) This is the same type as the basic labeler used now PT-E300 Tape Family TZe, HGe, & HSe Tape Sizes: 9/64", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4" (3.5mm, 6mm, 9mm, 12mm, 18mm) Smart label application keys - Simple menus for common applications with smart technology, help reduce key strokes and time to print the right looking label Advanced serialization options - Helps save time printing single or multiple labels with serialized data Compatible with Flexible ID tape & heat shrink tubing Faster print speed - Prints up to 0.78 ips which is 2x faster than many previous Brother models Optimized character font shaping & accurate print positioning Large back-lit LCD display with application icons Uses HGe, TZe and HSe tape
