4 Shanghai Mviewtech Co., Ltd Outline The Mviewtech 3 rd generation multi-monitor module is an external device to expand the multi-screen driving capability of PC or notebook. The module features small dimension, capable of running different apps on each monitors, and allows same apps running across multiple monitors. This product is mainly designed for professionals who need more display space to improve efficiency, game-fans dreaming to play in a fully immersive environment, or system integrators having projects with multi-screen and multi-projector requirements. 5 Shanghai Mviewtech Co., Ltd 1 Function and features 1.1 Functions Capable of splitting super-high-resolution image generated from graphic card to multiple monitors (up to 6) in horizontal, vertical, or meshed layout. Multiple outputs grouped for a large resolution image / video display. The total resolution capable of displaying is the summation of the resolution that each monitors connected. 1 Capable of connecting to GPU s multiple interfaces (e.g., DVI / HDMI / DP) for splitting and expansion 2. Suitable for applications needs high resolution image splitting, such as digital signage over multi-screen, software based multi-projectors edge-blending, DLP rear projection with multiple projectors, LCD Video-wall via thin bezel monitors. Supports various resolutions or video / graphic timings by customization software (free provided) at field or pre-defined in factory. Plug-and play for various operating systems include Windows OS, Linux 3, and Mac OS 4. Easy configuration via USB or COM port for system upgrade. Adaptive equalizer for high speed DP and dual-link DVI signal receive over long cables (typically, 20 meters over DVI cable and 15 meters over DP cable). HDCP supporting on Dual-link DVI or displayport interface. 5 Industrial level system design with high reliability and low environmental requirements, capable of working for 24hrx7days. Low power consumption, no need for heat sink, and environmental friendly. Check whether the AC power is stable or not, if red LED is flicking, please change to other 5V or 12V power supply. Red LED is damaged, or internal circuit is short. 9.2 Work status LED is not on Hardware connection Try to reset the device to default settings, refer to Reset to default setting section. DVI version expansion module only support DVI input (When using HDMI to DVI converter or cable, the maximum pixel rate is limited to 165Mhz, when using Displayport to DVI passive converter, the maximum pixel rate is limited to 165Mhz, when using Displayport to DVI active converter, please refer to Appendix Ⅰ Common seen graphic card connectors, converter, conversion cable), DP version expansion modules only support Displayport input,mv20x-dpdvi can support both DVI and DP input, but not at a time. 74 9.3.1 Graphics card Check graphics card spec; graphics card with several output connectors usually needs extra power supply and switch control. Check whether graphics card support duallink DVI output at 330 MHz. If used DP to DVI convertor or cable, which have 165 MHz 270 MHz or 330 MHz pixel clock limitation, please select 330Mhz version. If used HDMI to DVI converter or cable, the maximum output is limited to 165 MHz, the output resolution is also limited Software setting: Please make sure uninstall the older version graphic card driver and install the latest one: NVIDIA graphic card driver download: AMD graphic card driver download: Graphics card only connect to one expansion module First setup based on manual, connect via power supply cable and DVI/DP/HDMI cable, output to display, and restart PC. After restart, if still no output image, refer to Reset to default setting section, then restart computer again If still no output, please refer to connection section of Control software Graphics card connected to multiple output devices When graphic card/pc connect to multiple display, only expansion module without image output, please check weather device (MV10X/MV10XS_XXXX) is shown in control panel. and set mode(copy, expansion or independent) or mosaic layout in Win XP, please refer to Graphics card setting resolution setting. 75 9.3.3 Display Please connect to graphics card to check whether display (monitors or projectors) support the resolution expansion module configured. Check whether red LED indicator is on and no flickering. Choose suitable output cable (DVI/HDMI/VGA/ fiber extender or Wife) based on connection length environment limited. No output image when connect via normal length cable, please check weather display required special resolution and configure refer to Graphics card setting resolution setting Invalid auto-detected function Reset to manufacturer settings, refer to Reset to default setting for detail. Insert a needle or other similar sticks into the reset hole (reset hole in red below, a reset button inside), and push the built-in reset button for 4-6 seconds. 3. Remove the stick to release the reset button once the green LED starts flickering. 4. Reset finishes once the green LED stops flickering. 5.
