2 5.7 7 widescreen 3.5 XV102 HMI/PLC Devices with Integrated SmartWire-DT Master With its new XV102 series touch display PLCs Eaton is now offering high-performance HMI/PLCs with an integrated SmartWire-DT master. SmartWire-DT is the seamless connection and communication technology from Eaton: The uniformly designed and open system replaces the control wiring in all components from the circuit-breaker to motor starters and frequency inverters right through to pilot devices. The new XV102 series with a SmartWire-DT master is based on the XV100 HMI/PLC and therefore stands out on account of its small dimensions and high performance: A 400 MHz RISC processor and a 128 MB onboard memory are provided for this (expandable if required with an SD memory card). 3 Direct, lean communication 3.5 from 5.7 Eaton s five XV102 HMI/PLC versions cover a wide range of applications. The 3.5 inch device, used in conjunction with SmartWire-DT pilot devices, motor starters, contactors and remote SmartWire-DT I/Os is ideal for compact Lean Automation solutions. The 5 inch and 7 inch devices are designed for mediumsized machine and system applications. As well as SmartWire-DT, devices with standard fieldbus interfaces can be integrated in the automation concept via Profibus DP/MPI and CAN/easy-NET. SmartWire-DT SmartWire-DT CAN/DP Terminals: 1. Power supply The new feature in the device is the integrated SmartWire-DT master: A gateway was previously required for this, which was connected to the XV100 HMI/PLC via CANopen or Profibus. Eaton has now implemented the SmartWire-DT interface elegantly and efficiently with the master integrated directly in the PLC. 4 From Lean Connectivity to Lean Automation with HMI/PLC and SmartWire-DT Benefits for the user thanks to the integrated SmartWire-DT master The integrated SmartWire-DT master offers users a host of benefits. The SmartWire-DT line can be configured easily and conveniently via CoDeSys/SWD-Assist. The technical data of the SmartWire-DT interface is also the same as that of the previous SmartWire-DT gateways so that users can access the full range of functions and connect up to 99 slaves to one SmartWire-DT master. Following the principle of Connecting instead of wiring the SmartWire-DT interfaces goes directly into the PLC without any intermediate circuitry. Users are also spared the higher device costs of a cable connected gateway. From Lean Connectivity to Lean Automation Lean Connectivity and Lean Automation involve the use of lean methodology on engineering and automation processes. Complex wiring becomes unnecessary, remote intelligence is created, entire device levels are eliminated, including of course the associated procurement and maintenance costs. A small revolution in which Eaton is leading the way. Two technologies developed by Eaton are at the center of this revolution: The SmartWire technology and the HMI/PLC technology. With SmartWire-DT Eaton has initiated a new age in the connectivity between the individual switch cabinet components. SmartWire-DT replaces the control wiring in all components right down to the sensor, and enables direct and continuous communication between the central controller and the controlled sections of the plant. However, we don t just stop at Lean Connectivity: The HMI-PLC combines the most advanced IT technologies with the conventional PLC and HMI technology. 6 An XV102 HMI/PLC can connect up to 99 slaves on a SmartWire-DT line over a maximum length of 600 meters. The connection cable starts at the integrated SmartWire-DT interface Ready for use in a few simple steps A standard motor starter combination, consisting of a PKZ motor-protective circuitbreaker or PKE electronic motor-protective circuitbreaker, mechanical links and a DIL M contactor, can be turned into a communicationenabled SmartWire-DT motor starter in a few simple steps. This is very time consuming and harbors several sources for potential wiring faults. SmartWire-DT is simply ingenious the green ribbon cable connects up pilot devices with a simple click. This saves time and keeps fault sources to a minimum. SmartWire-DT options SmartWire-DT outlook All NZM 2/3/4 circuit-breakers with an electronic release can be connected directly to SmartWire-DT via the NZM module. Currents up to 1600 A in the power distribution system can thus be accessed via SmartWire-DT. Different I/O modules are available to integrate conventional actuators and sensors. A SmartWire-DT interface is in development for M-Max frequency inverters, for simple and flexible data transfer.
