Chapter 1 Introduction 1.1 Summary AVC-DP7 is an Android-based multimedia terminal with a 7 inch touch screen and a 2M CMOS sensor camera. It supports H.264/H.263 codec with adaptive bandwidth adjustment. The 7 inch touch screen offers excellent user experiences such as high quality videophone, smooth internet surfing, various Android Apps and daily information. 9 Chapter 2 Installation 2.1 Connecting Video Phone Connection Diagram Connecting to Network Use internet cable to connect the video phone to a router or switch, if the Network Connection indicator is on, network is properly connected. Connecting to PC You can connect to Video Phone via browser by typing the IP address on the address. Page 9 of 81

Touch and Hold touch and hold the item to see options of the icon Drag touch and hold the icon for few seconds then once the item has a red frame you can move the icon to the shortcut menu Slide move your finger across the screen to slide, to go to different page or menu page. Double-Click tap the screen twice in quick succession, for example when the user surfs in the browser you can quickly click tap twice on the page to enlarge the page. Pinch place two fingers on screen then pinch them together to zoom out or spread apart to zoom in which could be used to picture view Startup and Shutdown Startup when power is plugged in, video phone turns on automatically Reboot you can restart the video phone by following the steps below; o Press and hold the Power button until the pop-up menu shows up o Tap Reboot to restart View / Turn Off Notifications To view notifications, drag down the status bar then tap each notification to view the detailed notification Touch and Hold one of the notifications bar until the icon appears, tap the icon to get into the priority setting interface. 12 3.1.6 Making a Call User can use the SIP account to call or IP to IP using dial plan to call directly. User can dial directly from keypad or select the contacts from the list to call, see below list of modes supported. 15 Calling from Contact List Tap the Call icon then tap Label Phone Book icon, select Local Phone Book, select the contact then press call or video call Receiving Calls there is two modes when receiving a call, Video or Audio, if the caller has been saved in the contacts it will show the contact s name, otherwise the caller s number will be displayed. 18 Chapter 4 Configuring Video Phone 4.1 Connecting to Network from the Video Phone AVC-DP7 Video phone support LAN Ethernet and Wireless connection and connects using three different modes which are: Static IP to configure the static IP, go to Settings-Ethernet-Ethernet IP mode then select static and input the network settings DHCP to configure the network using DHCP just go to Settings-Ethernet-Ethernet IP mode then select DHCP Page 18 of 81

19 Wi-Fi to configure the Wi-Fi just go to Settings-Wi-Fi then turn on, select the Wi-Fi name and input the password if needed. 4.2 SIP Account Configuration there a different ways to go to SIP settings from the video phone, see below. 1. Call Icon on Main screen - In the main screen, tap call icon then click setting icon and go to Account Manager 2. Menu in the Main screen - in the In the main screen, tap menu icon, tap dial icon then go to setting icon and go to Account Manager 3. Speaker Button on Keypad - Press speaker button then tap setting icon and go to Account Manager 4. From a Browser In the main screen, tap the browser icon and input the IP address of the video phone to the address bar and hit enter, default username is: admin and password is: admin. Go to Account Basic and input the SIP account information then click submit. Page 19 of 81

24 4.3.1 Echo Cancel CNG is also known as Comfort Noise Generation, this allows the video phone to generate comfortable background noise for voice communications during periods of silence on the conversation. VAD is also known as Voice Activity Detection, this allows the video phone to detect the presence or absence of human speech during a call, when detecting period of silence, the VAD replaces that silence efficiently with special packets that indicate silence is occurring Auto Gain Target Tone Volume Talk Volume AGC(Sending-side) disabled by default AGC(Receiving-side) disabled by default AGC Target(1-20dB) range from 1 to 20dB, 3dB is set by default Tone HandFree volume control for Hands free tone Tone HandSet volume control for Hand set tone Tone HeadSet volume control for headset such as Bluetooth and other devices Talk HandFree volume control for hands free during a call Talk HandSet volume control for hand set during a call Talk HeadSet volume control for head set during a call Page 24 of 81

26 4.4.1 Media Feedback NACK only enable to filter mosaic Tmmbr if enabled, it will send the maximum temporary rate request, disabled by default H264 Setting Profile profile supports 4 modes such as Base, Main, High and extended. Different profiles makes different coding function and video quality. Level different profile also has its own corresponding level value. Rate Control support bitrate, crf or qp. IDR Interval also known as Instantaneous Decoding Refresh, it is used to control the process of coding and decoding Other Settings Hardware Encoder Acceleration is use to solve the image issue, user can enable the hardware endec acceleration when needed. Hardware Decode Acceleration set to disable by default Color Management setting to increase the phone display color. Image Quality user can select Low, Middle or High mode. 29 Always Off Code to configure the code to turn off the always forwarding function Call Forwarding Busy if enabled the call will be forwarded to a specific number when video phone is busy Forwarding Number input the number where the call will be forwarded if video phone is busy Busy On Code to configure the code to turn on the call forwarding busy function Busy Off Code to configure the code to turn off the call forwarding busy function No Answer Forwarding if enabled the call will be forwarded to a specific number when no one answers the call Forwarding Number input the number where the call will be forwarded if no one answer the call Time out target time when nobody answer the call it will be forwarded on the specific number, by default is set to 30 seconds No Answer On Code to configure the code to turn on the no answer forwarding function No Answer Off Code to configure the code to turn off the no answer forwarding function Do not Disturb if enabled any calls will be rejected DND On Code to configure the code to turn on the DND function DND Off Code to configure the code to turn off the DND function Call Waiting Call Waiting if enabled the incoming call during the conversation will be displayed on the conversation interface, user can choose to answer or reject the call, if disabled the third party caller will only hear a busy tone. Playtone The caller will hear the tone when waiting, different SIP server supports different play tones. Call Waiting On Code to configure the code to turn on the call waiting function Call Waiting Off Code to configure the code to turn off the call waiting function Intercom Intercom Active by default is enabled, disabling it will disable the video phone Intercom Mute If enabled the Video phone will be muted Hotline this allows the video phone to call out a specific number automatically. 30 4.6 Dial Plan this function allows the user to select a replace rules or dial plan Dial Plan Rules user can select to which account the replace rule applies; i.e. when dialing 812 it will dial the IP instead as an IP to IP calling Area Code is also known as NPAs (Numbering Plan Areas), they usually indicates different geographical areas within one country. Note: It only supports one area code rule. 4.7 Auto Provision Video Phone can be configured to resynchronize its internal configuration stat to match a remote profile periodically and on power up by contacting a normal provisioning server (NPS) or an access control server (ACS). 49 6.2 Account configuration settings for SIP accounts Basic Basic configuration to setup the SIP accounts and SIP server. SIP Account settings to enter the sip account information and status if registered or not. SIP Server 1 settings to configure the primary SIP server, sip server could be a URL or IP address, registration period is a time when the account tries to register again to make sure that the account is still registered or not. SIP Server 2 settings to configure the secondary SIP server, this is for redundancy, if the video phone failed to register on the primary the video phone will try to register on the secondary SIP server. Outbound Proxy Server Outbound proxy server is used to receive all request message and route to the designated SIP server Page 49 of 81

50 Note: if outbound proxy server is configured, all SIP request message from the video phone will automatically be send to the outbound proxy server. Transport Type transport type has 4 options: o UDP UDP is and unreliable but very efficient transport layer protocol o TCP is reliable but less sufficient transport layer protocol o TLS Secure and reliable transport layer protocol o DNS-SRV A DNS-SRV is for specifying the location of the service Advanced are settings for other settings and advanced settings. 52 SIP Account Display the current account or to switch to other accounts Audio Codecs Codecs allows you to disable or enable the available audio codecs, codecs means coder-decoder which is used to transfer analog signal to digital or vice versa. Video Codecs codecs allows you to disable or enable the available video codecs Video Codec The video phone supports two video codecs: H263 and H264, each codec has different codec resolutions, bitrate and payload. Subscribe This settings is to configure the MWI, BLF and ACD subscription settings. o MWI Subscribe to enable/disable MWI subscribe feature o MWI Subscribe Period subscribe period range from seconds o Voice Mail Number input the voic number for MWI o BLF Expire BLF stands for Busy Lamp Field which is used to monitor the designated extension status. o ACD Expire ACD stands for Automatic Call Distribution which is often used in offices or customer services such as call center, this setting is to set an expire time of the ACD subscription. DTMF DTMF means Dual Tone Multi-Frequency. o Type Supports Inband, Info, RFC2833 or their combination Page 52 of 81

Note: The default settings for DTMF is RFC2833 which is the standard Call settings for call related configurations. o Max Local SIP Port to configure the maximum local SIP port for designated account. o Min Local SIP Port to configure the minimum local SIP port for designated account. o Caller ID Header settings to which caller ID format fetch to display on video phone UI. o Auto Answer If enabled, video phone will auto-answer any incoming call for the designated account. o Provisional Response ACK 100% reliable for all provisional messages, this means it will send ACK every time the video phone phone receives a provisional SIP message from SIP server. o Register with user=phone if enabled, video phone will send user=phone within SIP message o Invite with user=phone if enabled, the video phone will invite to send user=phone within SIP message. o PTime range from 10,20,30,40,50 & 60, can also be disabled o Anonymous Call If enabled, all outgoing call for the designated account will be anonymous number. o Anonymous Call Rejection if enabled, all incoming anonymous number will be rejected automatically. o Miss Call Log enabling/disabling miss call log. o Prevent SIP Hacking enable to prevent SIP from hacking Session Timer settings for session timer configuration o Active if enabled, the ongoing call will be disconnected automatically once the session expired, unless it s been refresh by the UAC or UAS. o Session Expire configure expiry time for the call session. o Session Refresher select which should be responsible on refreshing a call session UAC stands for User Agent Client, or the video phone UAS stands for User Agent Sever, or the SIP server BLF List these settings allows you to configure BLF List URI Addresses. o BLF List URI stands for Busy Lamp Field List o BLF List Pickup Code sets the BLF pick up code o BLF List Barge In Code sets the BLF barge in code Broadsoft AOC is a feature used to be an accounting on Broadsoft platform NAT settings for NAT related configurations o UDP Keep Alive Message if enabled, video phone will send UDP keep alive message periodically to router to keep NAT port alive. o UDP Alive Msg Interval Keep alive message interval Page 53 of 81
