Boeblingen has moved to an agile / continuous delivery model The new normal is roughly quarterly quality /SPE APARs Allows new function to be delivered to customers more quickly But APARs come out though the service stream So no formal announcement letter and little publicity in general Through the IBM Support Portal you can subscribe to service newsletters

7 OA Q2015 REPEAT line command for TIMERS policy - RFE Problem: A nearly identical timer must be created and every definition must be manually entered again. There should be a possibility to copy the data of an existing timer into another one. Solution: A new line command REPEAT is implemented on the Timer Definitions panel in policy TIMERS to duplicate an existing

8 OA Q2015 LOCATE command for TMR and NFY - RFE Problem: Finding a specific object in big list of Timers or Notify Operators might need a lot of up and down scrolling. Solution: A LOCATE command is implemented on the list of Timers and Notify Operators within policy TIMERS and NOTIFY OPERATORS. On the entry name list it exist already today. The LOCATE command works similar to the ISPF locate command. If an exact match exists, it positions that record to the top of the screen. Otherwise positions to the record ahead of the string to be located (or the top row).

9 OA Q2015 SRCHFOR line command for APL, TMR, UET - RFE Problem: Finding a specific message ID, a specific message ID or a specific user entry-type kind of definition in a big list of APL, TMR and UET entries can be really hard. Solution: A new command SRCHFOR is implemented which allows to search for specific data within all entries of one type. It is available for entry types APL, TMR and UET and can be issued on the command line of the Entry Name Selection panel, e.g.:

10 OA Q2015 New monitor routine for DB2 RFE Problem: The DB2 MSTR job ends (Job ended message IEF404) and therefore SA z/os sets the status to INACTIVE which triggers an immediate restart (in place or lite start). This may happen to early as the DB2 MSTR is not really finished. The DSN3100 message which appears is not usable for automation as it is not invoked from the DB2 address space. Solution: An additional monitoring is needed to verify whether the DB2 is really finished. This will be done by the new monitoring routine INGDBMON which will verify whether the SSI has removed the DB2 from its list of registered subsystems. It the DB2 is unregistered it is ready to restart. Only if INGDBMON results with the information that the DB2 has been unregistered from the SSI, the status is set to INACTIVE. At this point in time the follow-on actions can be triggered as now DB2 is 'ready for restart'.

11 OA Q2015 Display of all Votes just for one system - RFE INGVOTE filter - RFE Problem: When INGVOTE is called without a resource name, it shows all the requests that are currently in the system. Each request is represented as multiple lines. If there are many requests, the list becomes confusing and information cannot be found easily. Solution: Two new features have been added to INGVOTE: Filters to limit the display to requests against resources that reside on certain systems and/or have a name matching a given pattern. The display can be collapsed to show only one line per request.

16 OA49609 z13 GA2 Support BCPii Performance Improvements Requires GA2 microcode level: console version , SE EC level: P00339 MCL 101, HMC EC level: P08462 MCL 81 The biggest improvement can be observed when using several BCPii connections from different CECS in parallel to the same z13 target hardware Measurements were done using SA BCPii connections to the same z13 GA2 level SE which lead to the following results:
