9 Chapter 1. Choose your user type If you want to install Jazz for Serice Management for ealuation or deelopment purposes, you can perform the full installation as an administratie or root user only. Custom installations support both user types. You can specify whether to perform a custom installation as an administratie user in the Tools > Installation Manager panel of the launchpad. You can run Installation Manager in administrator or non-administrator mode. Jazz for Serice Management documentation refers to different user types. Installing Jazz for Serice Management installation as non-root user Your security policies or the target serer might limit installing software to users with sufficient administratie priileges. You can install Jazz for Serice Management as a root or administratie user. If your security policies allow, you can also install Jazz for Serice Management as a non-root or non-administratie user. Performing Jazz for Serice Management installation as non-root user Custom installations support both user types. You can specify whether to perform a custom installation as an administratie user in the Tools > Installation Manager panel of the launchpad. You can run Installation Manager in administrator or non-administrator mode. Before you begin Run the Dependency Checker tool. For more information, see Installing Tioli Netcool Performance Manager - Wireless Component. Note: Ignore the errors that are related to missing Jazz for Serice Management and Tioli Common Reporting. Ensure that you hae installed the Tioli Netcool Performance Manager 1.4 software. See Installing Tioli Netcool Performance Manager - Wireless Component. Run the prerequisite scanner. See Running Prerequisite Scanner by using conenience scripts. Procedure 1. Copy install.xml file from the tcr directory to the JazzSM_HOME directory of Installation manager by using the following command as root user: cp /appl/irtuo/admin/tcr/install/response/install.xml /tmp/jazzsm/im.<os>.<ersion> For example, im.linux.x86_64 im.aix. 2. Edit the /etc/security/limits.conf file to set the hard limit as follows as root user: [non-root-user@tnpminlnx0106 ~]$ tail -f /etc/security/limits.conf #@student hard nproc 20 #@faculty soft nproc 20 #@faculty hard nproc 50 #ftp hard nproc 0 #@student - maxlogins 4 <nonrootuser> hard nofile <nonrootuser> hard nproc <nonrootuser> hard stack 2048 # End of file Note: Tioli Common Reporting requires that the following settings are applied in the target enironment: Copyright IBM Corp

14 Ulimit Stack set to 2048 or greater Max user processes limit set to or greater Open files limit set to or greater 3. Restart the serer for the changes to take effect. 4. Ensure that hostname and domain name are set correctly. 5. Configure the open file limits globally by using the following commands as the non-root user: # ulimit -n # ulimit -u # ulimit -s 2048 Note: Use -a to list all the current resource limits. 6. Edit the installc.ini file to change admin to nonadmin as follows: -toolid installc -accessrights nonadmin -m jre_6.0.0.sr9_ _03/jre/bin/jaa -nosplash --launcher.suppresserrors -silent -margs -Xms40m -Xmx512m -Xquickstart -Xgcpolicy:gencon 7. Run the prerequisite scanner. See Running Prerequisite Scanner by using conenience scripts. Ensure that all errors are rectified. Ignore errors that are related to non-admin user. 8. Install the Installation Manager by using the following command: cd /tmp/jazzsm/im.linux.x86_64./installc -log log_file -acceptlicense Note: The default installation location for Installation Manager is /<nonroot_user_name>/ibm/installationmanager/eclipse. The following output is displayed: Installed com.ibm.cic.agent_ _1537 to the /home/non-root-user/ibm/installationmanager/eclipse directory. 9. Run the tcr_install script to generate the four response files for IBM DB2, Jazz for Serice Management and Tioli Common Reporting by running the following command: /appl/irtuo/admin/tcr/install/scripts/tcr_install Four response files are as follows: db2ese.rsp install_jazzsm_was_fullprofile_response.xml install_jazzsm_was_full_rsp_nonroot.xml TCR_sample_response.txt 6 IBM Tioli Netcool Performance Manager: Installing Jazz for Serice Management as non-root user

Please wait. The execution completed successfully. For more information see the DB2 installation log at "/tmp/db2setup.log". A new DB2 instance is created. An operating system user with the same instance name is also created. Same user can be used for non-root installation. For example, smadmin. 11. Install Jazz for Serice Management by using the following command: cd /opt/ibm/installationmanager/eclipse./ibmim --launcher.ini silent-install.ini -input /appl/irtuo/admin/tcr/install/response/install_jazzsm_was_full_rsp_nonroot.xml -log /tmp/jazzsm_silent_install_log2.xml -acceptlicense You see the following output: Installed com.ibm.websphere.base.85_ _1724 to the /opt/ibm/websphere/appserer directory. Installed com.ibm.websphere.ibmjava.70_ _1500 to the /opt/ibm/websphere/appserer directory. Installed com.ibm.tioli.tacct.psc.install.was85.extension_ to the /opt/ibm/websphere/appserer directory. Create tcrdb instance by using the following steps: a. Log in as db2 instance owner. For example, smadmin. b. Run the following command to create the tcr_create_db2_cs.sql script: <jazzsmhome>/install/reporting_serices/tcr_generate_content_store_db2_definition.sh <tcrdb_name> <db2instance_name> For example: /opt/ibm/jazzsm/install/reporting_serices/tcr_generate_content_store_db2_definition.sh tcrdb smadnin c. Run the following command to run the SQL script: db2 -tf <jazzsmhome>/install/reporting_serices/tcr_create_db2_cs.sql For example: db2 -tf /opt/ibm/jazzsm/install/reporting_serices/tcr_create_db2_cs.sql d. Install Tioli Common Reporting by using response file by using non-root user by using the following command: For example, smadmin. /tmp/jazzsm/tcrinstaller/install.sh -f /appl/irtuo/admin/tcr/install/response/tcr_sample_response.txt -i silent Note: The Tioli Common Reporting installation takes a while to complete. 8 IBM Tioli Netcool Performance Manager: Installing Jazz for Serice Management as non-root user

17 Chapter 3. Setting up DB2 as a non-root user If you perform a custom installation as a non-root user and want to install either Registry Serices or Tioli Common Reporting, you must install IBM DB2 as root user. You can then configure it to use a non-root user. About this task You can use an existing installation of DB2, but it must be a supported ersion and you must set up a database instance for Jazz for Serice Management. Procedure 1. Ensure that your target enironment meets DB2 installation prerequisites. See Installation prerequisites for database serers. 2. If you want to install DB2, you can obtain the IBM DB2 installation media aailable with Jazz for Serice Management. Copy and extract the contents to the local file system, referred to as the Install_Imgs_Home/ directory. 3. Log in to the target database serer as a root user and perform the following steps: a. If you do not hae an existing supported installation, install DB2. Ensure that you select the Enable Operating System Security option when you install DB2. The installation program creates the DB2ADMNS group. b. Create a non-root user, for example john, and add the user to the group DB2ADMNS. This table summarizes the steps on different operating systems. Operating system Creating a non-root user AIX systems On Linux or Allow full permissions for the temporary directory tmp by using the command: chmod -R 777 /tmp Add the user to the DB2ADMNS group by using the commands: usermod -g db2iadm1 john usermod -G dasadm1 john Log on to the system as the new user john and erify that the user created correctly by using the following command. john@nc :/home/john> id uid=1007(john) gid=112(db2iadm1) groups=111(dasadm1),112(db2iadm1) c. Create a DB2 instance for Jazz for Serice Management. For example, sampleinstance. 18 Example: /opt/ibm/db2/instance/db2icrt -u db2sdfe1 sampleinstance d. Start the new database instance sampleinstance by using the db2start command. 4. Log in to the system as a non-root user, for example john, and perform the following steps: a. Set the TCP/IP communication for the non-root user. db2set DB2COMM=TCPIP b. Check whether the TCP/IP communication is associated with a serice name or not. db2 get dbm cfg grep SVCENAME c. If there is no serice name that is defined, update it with the required port. For example, db2 update dbm cfg using SVCENAME Port or Sericename Example: db2 update dbm cfg using SVCENAME Note: Ensure that this port is not associated with any other process. d. 19 Chapter 4. Verifying the installation You can erify the installation of IBM WebSphere Application Serer Version and the Jazz for Serice Management integration serices. About this task For more information about this task, see tiihelp/3r1/topic/com.ibm.psc.doc_ /install/ psc_t_install_ad_erification.html Procedure Verify the Dashboard Application Serices Hub installation: 1. Log in to the Dashboard Application Serices Hub console. See Logging in. 2. If required, start the Jazz for Serice Management application serer. Verify the Registry Serices installation 3. Open a browser window and send an HTTP GET request to the proider URL that represents the serer and port to which you deployed Registry Serices. For example: If this request is successful, it returns 200 (OK) with a response body that contains the proider registry description. Verify the Administration Serices installation: 4. If required, log in to the Dashboard Application Serices Hub, and erify that the Administration Serices icon in the naigation bar. 5. If the Administration Serices icon is not isible, you must assign an Administration Serices role to your user ID as follows: a. Click Console Settings > User Roles. The User Roles page opens. b. In the User ID field, enter your user ID and click Search. c. In the table, select your User ID. The User Roles > Aailable Roles page opens. d. In the table, select the Platform Administrator role and click Sae. e. Log out and then log on again. 6. In the naigation bar, click Administration > Administration. The Administration window opens. Verify if the Applications iew displays the managed systems, and that the Application Details iew displays the tasks that are associated with the selected managed system. What to do next If you cannot access the web page in step 3, restart Jazz for Serice Management application serer. Some configuration or administration tasks for an integration serice require that you restart the IBM WebSphere Application Serer. Stopping a Jazz for Serice Management application serer impacts all integration serices installed in the associated WebSphere Application Serer profile. Related tasks: Copyright IBM Corp

20 Stopping Jazz for Serice Management application serers You can stop any Jazz for Serice Management application serer by using the IBM WebSphere stopserer command. You might need to restart the application serer after completing a configuration task for an integration serice, or stop the application serer for maintenance. To start the serer again, use the startserer command. Starting Jazz for Serice Management application serers You can start any Jazz for Serice Management irtualization and reporting serers by using the IBM WebSphere startserer command. You might need to restart the application serer after you complete a configuration task for an integration serice, or after you take the application serer down for maintenance. Starting Jazz for Serice Management application serers You can start any Jazz for Serice Management irtualization and reporting serers by using the IBM WebSphere startserer command. You might need to restart the application serer after you complete a configuration task for an integration serice, or after you take the application serer down for maintenance. About this task The same procedure applies to any Jazz for Serice Management application serer. Procedure 1. On the releantjazz for Serice Management serer, open a command window. 2. Change to the JazzSM_WAS_Profile/bin directory. The default location for <JazzSM_WAS_Profile> is /opt/ibm/jazzsm/profile. 3. Run the following command:./startserer.sh serer_name Where serer_name Enter the name of the application serer that was specified when the application serer profile was created. For example, serer1. 23 Chapter 5. Verifying the Tioli Common Reporting installation To erify the installation, you can use different URLs to log in and access the reporting interface. About this task You can erify the installation by accessing the reporting interface as follows: Dashboard Application Serices Hub Log in to the reporting interface from the Dashboard Application Serices Hub login page. Both Dashboard Application Serices Hub and Tioli Common Reporting are installed in the same application serer enironment, and the reporting interface is integrated with Dashboard Application Serices Hub. Direct access Log in to the reporting interface from its own login page. Tioli Netcool Performance Manager s user interface Log in to the reporting interface from a Tioli product s login page. For more information about this task, see tiihelp/3r1/topic/com.ibm.psc.doc_ /install/ psc_t_install_ad_erification_tcr.html Procedure Access the reporting interface from Dashboard Application Serices Hub as follows: 1. Open a web browser and enter the following URL for the Jazz for Serice Management UI and reporting serer: For example: host.domain is the fully qualified host name or IP address of the Jazz for Serice Management UI and reporting serer. Note: When single sign-on (SSO) is enabled, ensure that you use the fully qualified host name in the URL of the Jazz for Serice Management reporting and UI serer. SSO requires that the browser pass LTPA cookies to the Jazz for Serice Management application serer, and these cookies contain the fully qualified host name. port is the secure HTTPs port number that was specified during installation. The default alue is /DASH_context_root is the context root for the console that was specified during installation. The default alue is /ibm/console. 2. On the Dashboard Application Serices Hub login page, enter the WebSphere administrator user ID and password that were specified during installation. Click Log in. The Dashboard Application Serices Hub Welcome page opens. 3. In the naigation bar, erify that Reporting icon > Common Reporting exists. 24 a. Click Console Settings > User Roles. The User Roles page opens. b. In the User ID field, enter your user ID and click Search. c. In the table, select your user ID. The User Roles > Aailable Roles page opens. d. In the table, select the tcrportaloperator role and click Sae. e. Log out and then log in again. In the naigation bar, click Reporting icon > Common Reporting. The Common Reporting portal is displayed within a Dashboard Application Serices Hub portlet page. Verify that you can run and iew the sample report. See Running the sample oeriew report. Access the reporting interface directly as follows: 1. What to do next You can check the installation log for any error messages that are generated by the installation. Locate the TCR3101InstallMessage00.log,TCR3101InstallTrace00.log, TCR3102InstallMessage00.log, and TCR3102InstallTrace00.log files in the user home directory on UNIX systems. In a Dashboard Application Serices Hub enironment, you must assign tcrportaloperator role to new users and user groups, otherwise they cannot access the reporting interface from the console. In any of the supported enironments, you can also change permissions in the reporting interface to restrict access to arious reporting resources and functions after you configure the security permissions. Installation images home directory The Install_Imgs_Home ariable describes the common root directory that contains the extracted contents of the installation images depending on the installation scenario. Full installation IBM DB2, IBM WebSphere Application Serer, and IBM Tioli Common Reporting if you want to install Tioli Common Reporting during the full installation flow. Attention: You must extract the contents of the installation media for this software to the same common root directory, otherwise the full installation displays error messages for missing software. Custom installation IBM WebSphere Application Serer, if you do not want to use an existing installation; Tioli Common Reporting if you want to install it after a custom installation of the other integration serices. Tip: Ensure that the path to the JazzSM_Image_Home directory does not contain any spaces or special characters, otherwise the launchpad does not start.
