WebCampus Quick Tutorials: Questions: or (775) How to Customize MyWebCampus Page This tutorial will show you how to navigate and customize the MyWebCampus page, including adding and removing modules, changing course display and color scheme. The first page you will see when you login to WebCampus is the MyWebCampus page. This area contains tools and information specific to each user and can be personalized to a great degree. On the top of the page you will see: your avatar image, link to My Places, where you can upload an image to serve as your avatar and set global preferences for page display and notifications, Home link will take you back to the MyWebCampus page from any place on WebCampus, Help link that takes you to an online searchable manual, and a Logout link to end your session. 1 of 9
The default set of modules on the MyWebCampus page consists of the following items: Tools module, that provides a quick access to information across courses and personal settings. For example, clicking on the Tasks link takes you to a combined list of all tasks assigned to you in all of the courses you are enrolled in. Another way to return to MyWebCampus page from anywhere within WebCampus, is by clicking on the MyWebCampus tab in the top right hand corner of your screen. 2 of 9
My Announcements is a module that provides a combined view of all institutional and courselevel announcements. My Calendar provides a compiled calendar of institutional and course-level events. My Courses module lists all courses you are currently enrolled in as a student, instructor or a TA. Clicking on any of the listed courses would take you inside that course. 3 of 9
On Demand Help and Learning Catalog module contains a link to tutorials provided by Blackboard. My Tasks presents a combined list of all tasks assigned to you in all of the courses you are enrolled in. Now let s talk about customizing what you see on the My WebCampus Page. If you would like to make changes to the placement of the modules, simply click on the title bar of the module and drag and drop it to a new location. 4 of 9
You will notice that each module has a set of icons in the top right hand corner of the frame. The options you see there will depend on the type of the module. Clicking on the x removes the module from the page. Clicking on the vertical dash collapses the view without removing the module. Clicking on the Settings icon that looks like a gear allows you to choose the display options for that module. For example, in the case of Calendar you can select the range of dates for the events displayed on the calendar. 5 of 9
The Settings icon on the My Courses Module allows you to change how your courses are displayed. By selecting or deselecting the checkboxes, you can control the visibility of the course name, course ID, instructors, announcements, tasks and calendar events. If all boxes are unchecked, the course will become hidden and will not appear on the list at all. You can also change the order of the courses by clicking on the double-headed arrow icon and dragging the course into a new location. Click on the Submit button to save the changes. 6 of 9
To add additional modules to MyWebCampus page, click on the Add Module button. On the page that opens up you can select to add or remove modules according to your preference. Click OK on the bottom of the page when done. 7 of 9
To customize the look of the MyWebCampus page, click on the Personalize Page button in the top right hand corner of the screen. Here you can chose a color palette from a list of available themes. TIP: This selection will only be visible to you and will not affect how your students see their MyWebCampus page. 8 of 9
You will also notice a second tab next to the MyWebCampus tab in the top right hand corner of the screen. The MyCourses tab is an uncluttered view of just your course list. TIP: The settings for the My Courses module display are controlled separately for each tab. That means that you can have different customized views of your courses on the MyWebCampus page and MyCourses page. If you have any questions about this tutorial or need additional help, please contact the Instructional Design Team at WebCampus@unr.edu or (775) of 9
