3 Confirming Client Data Data Integrity As investment strategies and recommendations are often derived from the client information that is gathered in the first place, it is essential for you to obtain correct and accurate data, in order to provide appropriate financial advice to your client. Step 1 Confirm Client s Personal Details are accurate Within the VisiPlan main screen, select the client you wish to create the Reverse Fact Find for. If you can not locate the client, you can filter the main screen to show clients under a particular adviser by selecting the specific field under Advisors. Click on Fact Find, and confirm the client s personal details are accurate and up to date. Reverse Fact Find Guide Page 1

4 Details within the following tabs should be reviewed for accuracy: Key Details Entities Health Servicing Assets and Liabilities Income Superannuation Objectives If you wish to change/edit any of this data, click on Modify on the tool bar. When finished, click on Save and select Close from File. Step 2 Confirm Client s Investment Details are accurate Click on Portfolio Manager, and confirm details of the client s investment portfolio are accurate and up to date. If you wish to change/edit any of these details, highlight the particular asset, right click with your mouse, and select View/Modify Investment from the right menu bar. 5 To modify the investment detail/s, click on Modify and edit accordingly. When finished, click on Save and then click on Close. Click on File and select Close to return to VisiPlan main screen. Step 3 Confirm Client s Insurance Details are accurate Click on Insurance, and confirm the details of the client s insurance policy/ies is/are accurate and up to date. Reverse Fact Find Guide Page 3

6 If you wish to change/edit any of this data, highlight the particular insurance policy, right click with your mouse, and select View/Modify from the right menu bar. To modify the insurance policy detail/s, click on Modify and edit accordingly. When finished, click on Save and then click on Close. Click on File and select Close to return to VisiPlan main screen. 7 Creating the Document WordWriter Step 4 Create Reverse Fact Find through Word Writer You should now be ready to use all of the information to prepare the Reverse Fact Find. The Reverse Fact Find essentially summarises the client s position based on previous information provided to the adviser and the performance of the investments that the client is exposed to. It is only an estimate of the client s position, as the adviser cannot assess the actual scenario without further discussion with the client. In order to create the document the user can launch the Word Writer module from the financial Planning tool. Click on Word Writer from the VisiPlan main screen. Before opening Word Writer, you are required to close ALL Microsoft Word documents. A blank page will open in Microsoft Word. Click on Insert from the Report Writer tools bar, Report Writer Insert will open. Go to Admin Support > Fact Find > Highlight Reverse Fact Find.doc and click on Insert. 8 The Reverse Fact Find Template (coded template) will open within Word Writer. To start merging VisiPlan Data onto the Reverse Fact Find Template, click on Format and then Report Writer Format Wizard. Click on Next to start the process. Reverse Fact Find Guide Page 6

9 Follow the instructions; click Run under Word Writer to replace codes. Click on Yes to confirm your action of replacing codes with values. Once Word Writer has completed replacing codes with values, click Next in Report Write Format Wizard to continue. The Corporate Authorised Representative screen will appear. Edit/Modify details if required. When finished, click on Next. Reverse Fact Find Guide Page 7

10 Click on Next to apply formatting to the report. Once formatting is completed, click on Close. Step 5 Review Document Contents and Save Document After the document is created, we suggest you review the contents and data on the document before printing. While you are working within the Word Writer you should remember the following key points: As with any MSWord document, you should continue to save at internals throughout the reviewing process. When you exit, all your other MSWord documents will be closed as well. You should therefore ensure you save any other documents that you have open before clicking the Exit button. 11 It is also recommended you keep a copy of the Reverse Fact Find within your client s file, for compliance purpose. Step 6 Using the Reverse Fact Find during client review process During the client review meeting, it is recommended that the adviser take this opportunity to confirm all details on the reverse fact find, in order to ensure these details remain current. Advisers can also mark-up any changes on the reverse fact find and update the VisiPlan database once the new data has been collected from the meeting.
