1 Midsurface Rerun Step 1 Open the model small_collapsed_model.hm. Step 2 Create the Initial Midsurface 1. Click Geometry > Create > Midsurfaces > Auto. 2. Click solids >> displayed to select the solid enitities displayed in the Graphics Area. 3. Click extract to extract the midsurface. 4. 2 Notice the gaps in the midsurface. Step 3 Check the targets for the points and surfaces. 1. Click the assign target subpanel. 2. Click surf to activate the selector. 3. 3 4. Turn on the display of the Beam2_Shells geometry in the Model Browser. 5. Review the target lines for the points of the surface. Step 4 Delete the previously created midsurface. 1. Right click on the Middle Surface component in the Model Browser. 2. Click Delete in the right click menu. 3. Click Yes to confirm the deletion. Step 5 Set the rerun option for the new midsurface. 1. Click the auto midsurface subpanel. 2. Click the extraction options button to the open the panel. 3. Activate the allow rerun option. 4. Click return to exit the panel. 5. Click the switch below the extraction options button. 6. Set the value to prepare for rerun. Step 6 Create a new midsurface. 1. Click solids >> displayed to select the displayed solids in the Graphics Area. 2. Click extract to create the midsurface. 4 Notice the Collapsed Lines component that is created in the Model Browser. 3. Click the switch and set the value to do reun. Step 7 Edit the collapsed lines. 1. Click the edit collapsed lines button to open the panel. 2. Click the lines selector under the lines to collapse section. 3. Select the lines shown in the image. 4. Click collapse to collapse the lines to a single point. 5. Click return to exit the panel. 6. 6 Notice the bad spot in the geometry caused by a gap on the opposite side of the midsurface. Step 8 Review the targets of the points. 1. Click the assign target subpanel. 2.
