7 Chapter 1: Welcome Welcome to the Summer 2012 Release of CA Agile Vision. This section contains the following topics: What this Document Covers (see page 7) International Support (see page 7) What this Document Covers This document provides detailed information about new, enhanced, and removed features for this release of CA Agile Vision. The Release Notes also includes resolved customer issues, general information about the product documentation, known issues that affect CA Agile Vision, product compatibilities, and third-party acknowledgments. Note: At the time of publication, the product supports the operating systems and third-party software listed in this document. For assistance, contact CA Support at For complete installation instructions, see the Implementation Guide. International Support An internationalized product is an English product that operates correctly on local language versions of the required operating system and required third-party products. An internationalized product supports local language data for input and output. A translated product (sometimes referred to as a localized product) is an internationalized product that includes local language support for the user interface of the product, online help, and other documentation. In addition to the English release of CA Agile Vision, the user interface is available in the following languages: Brazilian Portuguese French German Italian Japanese Spanish Localized versions of the CA Agile Vision online help and product documentation are available within 90 days of the product general availability. The ETC calculation considers the actual hours posted on CA Clarity PPM timesheets. ETC is the difference between the Estimated Hours in CA Agile Vision and the actual hours from a CA Clarity PPM timesheet. ETC = Estimated Hours Sum of actual hours CA Vision Product Sync job fails due to the short address of the team member. The CA Product Sync job runs successfully even if the length of the addresses of project resources is less than 7 characters. Users cannot reapply the Agile Vision Timesheet Sync job definition as it is not listed in the Add-In Details page. When you upgrade the add-in, the Agile Vision Timesheet Sync job is listed on the Add-in Details page. Customized User field does not show the lookup icon on Products, Requirements, or User Stories. When you create a custom lookup field for products, requirements, or user stories, the field appears with the lookup icon. Non-admin user cannot see User Story Completion Status Chart. Any user with Agile Vision User, Agile Vision Super User, Vision User, and Vision Super User profiles can view the User Story Completion Status Chart. The backlog page inline edit of custom url field is limited to 80 characters even though the attribute is set to 255 characters. You can inline edit a customer URL field from the backlog page and enter up to 255 characters. Chapter 2: Resolved Customer Issues 9

10 Resolved Issues (Spring 2012 Service Pack 1) After installing the Clarity Integration add-in, the Add-in Details page shows several items and views as "Not Installed". The Add-in Details page shows all of the installed items as Installed, and any previously configured views as Upgrade Ready. Do not use decimals in user story points. If you are importing user story data using the Data Loader, verify that your user story points do not contain decimals. Express user story points as integers. CA Agile Vision displays story points containing decimals inconsistently. Resolved Issues (Spring 2012 Service Pack 1) When syncing with Clarity, the Estimate to Complete (ETC) showed Estimated Hours from Agile Vision. The ETC calculation considers the actual hours posted on CA Clarity PPM timesheets. ETC is the difference between the Estimated Hours in CA Agile Vision and the actual hours from a CA Clarity PPM timesheet. ETC = Estimated Hours Sum of actual hours If Chatter was not enabled for tasks, an error message was displayed while managing impediments. You can manage impediments without enabling Chatter. Chatter feeds for impediments are available only when enabled for tasks. Resolved Issues (Spring 2012) When syncing with CA Clarity PPM, all characters in the user story name successfully sync to the task name, whether or not the name exceeds the task name limit of 150 characters. Workarounds: Verify that the user story name is less than 150 characters. Edit the task name in CA Clarity PPM to less than 150 characters. 10 Release Notes

11 Resolved Issues (Spring 2012) On the Sprint Backlog & Chart page, if a sprint has 100 user stories and each user story has 15 tasks, Expand All fails. When there are too many user stories and tasks, you receive an error: "There are too many tasks to expand all. Please select a smaller number of items to show." Workarounds: Reduce the pagination to be 50 or less. Expand only the necessary stories. CA Clarity PPM sync job fails When more users are added to the CA Clarity PPM project than the CA Agile Vision license allows, an error message appears. The Clarity sync job fails with an error. The sync job fails with the following error: Updating existing AV User DUPLICATE_VALUE : duplicate value found: External_ID c duplicates value on record with id. The specified charge code value fails to populate the Timesheet, by default. When a task has a task type in CA Agile Vision, and is mapped with a CA Clarity PPM charge code, the sync job fails to populate the timesheet with the assigned charge code. You must manually update the timesheet with the correct charge code. Created Date and Updated Date on Search result shows incorrectly. When using Search, the result for Created and Updated Date is always 1/1/1970, or 12/31/1969, depending on your locale setting. Bulk Update does not work on the Backlog page A JavaScript error icon appears in the status bar for IE 8.x when trying to use Bulk Update on the Backlog page. Using double quotes for a user name prevents auto suggest from finding the user in the Assignee field. The value for the user name cannot have double quotes. When you try to input value in the Assignee field on the User Story Edit page, user names that have double quotes do not appear in the list. The page size of Tasks and Dependencies on a user story is not saved on the server. There is no custom setting for page size of Tasks and Dependencies in user stories on the Backlog page. 12 Resolved Issues (Winter 2012 Service Pack 2) Configuring views on the Backlog for different products, columns widths have unpredictable behavior. When you add custom attributes to the Backlog view for different products, columns sometimes shrink and the values appear left-justified. When creating a sprint, received an error reporting a non selective query against large object type (more than rows). This error appears when CA Agile Vision is integrated with CA Clarity PPM Release , and it fails the sprint creation. After a Salesforce.com platform upgrade to Spring 2012, the User Detail page does not open and an error displays. When trying to open the User Detail page, the following error message appears: SObject row was retrieved via SOQL without querying the requested field: User. Resolved Issues (Winter 2012 Service Pack 2) Dragging a backlog item onto the Sprint Stories pane and back without releasing the mouse, makes the page hang. The Backlog page hangs when using drag-and-drop to the Sprint Stories pane. If you drag an item to the Sprint Stories pane and back to the Backlog pane, without dropping the item, the page hangs with the Working icon. When trying to access a CA Software Change Manager (SCM) package detail page, an error appears. If an Agile Vision Super User or user tries to open an SCM Package Detail page, the following error message appears: SCM: Insufficient Privileges As a SaaS Clarity customer, changing the URL for an Agile Vision Sandbox or Production environment in a.jar file impacted all users. Earlier, the URL for the production or sandbox environment was specified in a.jar file. You can now change the URL in the CA Clarity PPM Administration Tool, on the Vision Admin Settings page. Resolved Issues (Winter 2012) Permission groups do not always get set up properly. After you create a user group and search on the group name, the group does not exist. 12 Release Notes

13 Resolved Issues (Winter 2012) Fix Fusion Charts to display Japanese and Chinese. Charts are not translated. Timesheet entries are deleted after synchronizing with a CA Clarity PPM project when the task assignee does not create the worklog. A timesheet entry does not synchronize properly when CA Agile Vision is integrated with CA Clarity PPM. Timeout Error when running AVEE upgrade When upgrading from to Spring 2011 (2.8), running the AVEE upgrade URL fails with a timeout error. Unable To Get To Backlog. After upgrading to the Spring 2011 release of CA Agile Vision, some Agile Vision Super-Users cannot get to the Backlog page. Deleting a filter on the backlog will cause "Attempt to dereference a null object" error page. An unexpected error has occurred. Your solution provider has been notified. (agile ). Receive SFDC error when ranking user stories after upgrading to 2.8. Cloned user stories and the record type that was not properly added to the story during cloning are not upgraded properly. When ranking user stories, you receive the following error: Update failed. First exception on row 1 with id a0la lu67mac; first error: FIELD_CUSTOM_VALIDATION_EXCEPTION, Record Type is required: record type. Receive SFDC error when ranking the backlog due to inactive team members or team members no longer on the product. When ranking users from the backlog, using drag-and-drop, you received the following SFDC error: Update failed. First exception on row 1 with id a0la wcmaa; first error: FIELD_CUSTOM_VALIDATION_EXCEPTION, User is not a member on product: product name. Some users in Assigned User column are displayed as SFDC ID rather than name. From the Home page, if you filter the task table to view a team, user names do not appear correctly when there are more than 1000 names. Chapter 2: Resolved Customer Issues 13

14 Resolved Issues (Winter 2012) Agile: When syncing with CA Clarity, if the addresses of users do not match in capitalization, a Chatter update is added advising the address of a user changed. When synchronizing between CA Agile Vision and CA Clarity PPM, you receive a Chatter feed about address changes. Production: Sorting the assignee results incorrect order When sorting on the assignee, the sorting order is incorrect. Backlog: Create a filter with a blank value in the points attribute causes the Backlog to fail with an error When creating a filter with a blank value in the points attribute, an error is returned: "Attempt to de-reference a null object. An unexpected error has occurred." Previous fix causing an issue with Remaining Hours. Have to add full day to Sprint get correct values. Sprint Finish dates appear to use the date such as 12:01 a.m. on the finish date, which removes a full day of work from the remaining hours. If you add an extra day to the Sprint, you get the expected last day of work. Agile: Too much data can cause error 'ca_agile: Too Many Script Statements: ' when accessing the user story & chart page When the amount of data of user stories and tasks in a sprint is too large, an error appears. When you access the User Story & Charts page, the product loads all of the data in the hierarchy editor list, and the execute statement reaches the governor limits. The language setting for the CA Agile Vision user becomes English from Japanese after running Agile Vision Project Sync Job. The Agile Vision Project Sync Job causes the language setting to change from Japanese to English. (Clarity PPM OnDemand and Agile Vision 2011 Spring Patch release). Setting or Clearing the Active Field Clearing the Active field for a project, release, sprint, or team does not make it inactive. Update: The Active field is now available for sprint. 14 Release Notes

15 Chapter 3: New, Enhanced, and Removed Features This section contains the following topics: New Features (see page 15) Enhanced Features (see page 17) Removed Features (see page 19) New Features This release includes the following new features: Pair Programming (see page 15) User with Read-only Access (see page 16) Multiple Value Lookup (see page 16) Tasktop Integration (see page 16) Pair Programming You can assign an Epic, User Story, Issue, or Task to more than one owner. This feature includes the following: The field name Assignee is changed to Owners on all product pages. The estimated hours or points for the task are equally distributed among the owners. Each task owner can enter separate worklogs. The remaining hours on the task are calculated based on all of the worklog entries and is equally distributed among the task owners. When you add or remove an owner from a user story or task, you can configure an notification for all owners of the user story or task informing them about the change. If CA Agile Vision users are synchronized with CA Clarity PPM resources, an assignment is added in CA Clarity PPM for each owner of the CA Agile Vision task. 16 New Features Users with Read-only Access Users can have read-only access to a product, user story, issue, task, epic, theme, and team in this product. A System Administrator, Vision Super User, Agile Vision Super User, or a Product Owner, can allow other users read-only access to the details of a product. Multiple Value Lookup You can use a Multiple Value Lookup (MVL) field to link a custom object with multiple field values to a CA Agile Vision object. You can link an MVL field to the following built-in objects: User Story Issue Task Product Release Sprint Note: For more information about pair programming, see the CA Agile Vision and Product Vision Administrator Guide. Tasktop Integration Tasktop enables organizations to connect CA Agile Vision and CA Product Vision with key project artifacts that are located in separate repositories. Using Tasktop s Sync technology, CA Agile Vision and CA Product Vision enable you to share artifacts such as user stories, tasks, and defects with other ALM products such as JIRA, HP Quality Center, and IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC). This integration provides you with the following benefits: Keep planning connected with development, QA, and management. Keep development focused on developing software by managing CA Agile Vision and CA Product Vision artifacts directly from the IDE. Increase the accuracy of data and help reduce possible errors caused by project information residing in separate repositories. Gain unified visibility and reporting across the project team. 17 Enhanced Features Enhanced Features This release includes enhancements to the following features: Virtual Wall Enhancements (see page 17) Improved Epic Hierarchy Page (see page 18) Backlog Page Filter (see page 18) Burndown Chart (see page 18) Sprint Backlog and Charts Page (see page 18) Cloning a User Story (see page 18) Securiity (see page 18) Resizing List Pages (see page 19) Virtual Wall Enhancements The Virtual Wall includes the following enhancements: You can filter the information by release on the Virtual Wall Team members can add impediments to a task on the Virtual Wall. User Stories show the dependency icon with details in the tooltip. Task cards show the impediment icon with details in the tooltip. Team members can filter the Virtual Wall to view the user stories and tasks that are assigned to an individual team member. 18 Enhanced Features Improved Epic Hierarchy Page The Epic Hierarchy page is simplified to make it more readable. The page displays the following columns: Action (Edit) ID (friendly) Title Status (display only, because it is the same fields for different objects) Points (blank for task) Priority (blank for task) Team Release (blank for epic) Sprint (blank for epic) Owner Type Backlog Page Filter You can filter the Backlog page to show all the user stories, including the ones without any assigned points. Sprint Backlog and Charts Page You can filter the information by release on the Sprint Backlog and Charts page. Cloning a User Story When cloning a user story, all the fields except read-only fields of the user story and the selected tasks, are copied to the new user story. The copied fields include custom fields of both the user story and the selected tasks. Security Super Users can create, edit, or delete all teams and their team members. Product owner can create, edit, or delete product teams and their team members. 18 Release Notes

19 Removed Features Resizing List Pages When you resize a column on the list page, other columns on the page automatically resize. The page remembers the column size setting and you do not need to resize the columns when you navigate back to the page. This feature is computer and browser specific. Reset this setting after you clear the cache. Removed Features The following features are removed from this release: View drop-down is not available in the following pages. You can navigate from the menu to get to these pages. Sprint Backlog & Charts Virtual Wall Sprint Information Sprint Chatter Feed The following reports are not available under CA Agile Vision as user stories and tasks have multiple owners: Sprint Tracking: Task Hours by Team Member Sprint Tracking: User Story Progress by Team Member As all the team members can be user story or task owners, the synchronized CA Clarity PPM resources are not checked for the user story owner or the task owner. 21 Chapter 4: Documentation This section contains the following topics: View the CA Technologies Bookshelf (see page 21) View the CA Technologies Bookshelf The CA Technologies Bookshelf provides your product documentation set in Section 508-compliant HTML format, and a print version of each guide. The CA Technologies Bookshelf is installed automatically with the product and you can access it by clicking the Help link in the product. You can download and extract the CA Technologies Bookshelf for your product (a ZIP file) from CA Support Online. To extract the ZIP file and view the CA Technologies Bookshelf: 1. Use an archive product such as WinZip. 2. Extract the content to a local folder. 3. Double-click the Bookshelf.html file in the Bookshelf folder. The CA Technologies Bookshelf opens, and you can use it to view and search the product documentation. Where to Find Documentation You can access the product documentation in the following locations: Click the Help link in the product. The Doc directory on the installation media. Double-click Bookshelf.html. Technical Support at How to View and Search PDFs To view PDF files, download and install the Adobe Reader from the Adobe website if it is not already installed on your computer. If you open a PDF file in Adobe Reader in the CA Technologies Bookshelf and search, the individual PDF file is searched and you see the individual instances of the search term. 23 Chapter 5: Known Issues This section describes the known issues in CA Agile Vision: Inline Edit is Disabled on Release Page. If you group columns by product on the Release list page, inline editing is disabled. When you clear the grouping, inline editing is restored. Setting or Clearing the Active Field Clearing the Active field for a project, release, or team does not make it inactive. Charge Codes are Assigned to Tasks Even When They are Inactive. Workaround Update the mapping so that only active charge codes are mapped to CA Agile Vision tasks. Charts are not Displaying in Localized Languages when a Windows Server Setting is Enabled. Charts do not display when you have the Windows Server setting "Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration" enabled. Complete the following steps to uninstall the security configuration. Follow these steps: 1. From the Windows Start menu, select Run. 2. In the Run dialog, enter appwiz.cpl. 3. From the Add or Remove Programs window, select the Windows Components program. 4. On the Windows Components wizard, clear the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration option to disable it. 5. Click Next. 6. Complete the remaining steps on the wizard. Online Help Returns Code Placeholders when you Search on Ampersand ("&") In the online help, when you search on ampersand ("&"), it returns code placeholders. Chapter 5: Known Issues 23

24 View the CA Technologies Bookshelf Globalization Issues with User Interface For some languages, platform incompatibility caused translation inconsistencies on a few pages, buttons, field labels, and other elements on the user interface. For example, the translated user interface displays English text or truncated text. Delay in Access to the Product Backlog for New Team Members After a user is added as a product team member, wait a few minutes before they can access the product backlog. User Story Drop-down Displays Custom Values for Issue On Backlog When editing a user story or issue inline on the backlog, the drop-down list displays custom values for both. This happens because the user story and the issue are the same object in CA Agile Vision. Chatter Feeds Show User Story Instead of Issue The Chatter feeds show user stories even though the update is for an issue because both are basically the same object in CA Agile Vision. Searching on AGVN-0, AGVN-T0, or AGVN-E0, displays all results instead of the specified records. When you search on the ID assigned to the first user story, task, or epic that you create (AGVN-0, AGVN-T0, or AGVN-E0), the search results do not return just the specific user story, task, or epic. Instead, all user stories, all tasks, or all epics are returned. Affected Release Missing from Sprint Detail Configuration From the Sprint Detail page when you click Configuration, the Affected Release field is missing from the list of configurable fields. Sprint Detail page has Layout Issues in Safari. The Sprint Detail page displays layout issues when you view it in Safari. This is a known issue in Safari. Workaround Configure the Sprint Detail page to reduce the number of columns on the page. Alternatively, resize the columns to line up the data in the User Stories & Charts view. Selection of a release for a backlog issue does not update affected or fix release values for the issue. When you select a release for an issue in the backlog, the affected or the fixed release values for the issue are not updated. The release information is used only when you set both the release and sprint for an issue to display the release to which the sprint belongs. 24 Release Notes

25 View the CA Technologies Bookshelf When installing or upgrading to the new version CA Agile Vision, receive a package installation error. If you receive the following message when installing or upgrading to the new release of CA Agile Vision, enable the feed tracking for both Product and Requirement objects. Package install error There are problems that prevent this package from being installed. Problems: Missing Organization Feature: ca_agile_project_c.feedtracking Records Missing Organization Feature: ca_agile_requirement_c.feedtracking Records Custom Object Custom Object Action Enable feed tracking Follow these steps: 1. Click Setup. The Salesforce.com setup page appears. 2. Click App Setup, Customize, Chatter, and Feed Tracking. 3. Select Product as the object on the left side of the page. 4. Select the Enable feed tracking check box. 5. Click Save. 6. Repeat the previous steps for the Requirement object. Month of Release Burndown is not translated In the Burndown chart, the month is not translated. Record types not translated on the Backlog page. On the Backlog page, the Record types "User Story" and "Issue" are not translated under localized languages. For Japanese: TestConnection.exe cannot launch Quality Center add-in. After installing and configuring the Quality Center add-in, the Japanese localized version cannot be launched by running TextConnection.exe. The value for the Type column appears in English for a user story on the Epic Hierarchy page. When displaying linked user stories on the Epic Hierarchy page, the Type column value appears in English. This problem appears in French, German, and Italian. Chapter 5: Known Issues 25

26 View the CA Technologies Bookshelf In-line editing is sometimes disabled on the Backlog page. If you group columns by Theme on the backlog, in-line editing becomes disabled. When you clear the grouping, in-line editing is restored. After upgrading to CA Agile Vision Spring 2012, the Flag column sometimes does not appear.
