EDITING CONTENT LOGGING IN Login via CAS login Navigate to your page, and click on New Draft at the bottom of the page FINDING CONTENT Click on Content in the admin menu to view all nodes on the site. To assist with finding your content: Filter by status or type To edit the content click on edit To preview the page click on the Title
BASIC PAGE TITLE The Title is a mandatory field and becomes the Page Title and H1 heading. CONTENT BLOCKS Text Block Image/Video/Slider Block Tabs Accordion Callout Box Links Testimonials News/Events Widget Widget/Prepared module Columns (Landing pages only) Embed ( not for Vimeo /YouTube) Image Block (admin use only) TEXT BLOCK The editor can be viewed in HTML or Plain text. The editor defaults to the HTML view. If multimedia such as YouTube or Vimeo is required on the page use iframe button within the text editor. This functionality is only available if you have access to the Full HTML. Users can access features such as of bold, ITALIC, underline, bullets, justification and can insert/edit links and images, and copy and paste content etc. Html code in the webpage can be viewed by accessing the "source" in the editor. There is an option in the editor to paste content from Microsoft Word Tables can be created in the body for the purpose of displaying tabular data Images (allowed file types: png, gif, jpg, jpeg <16MB); Upload to Drupal Server TABLES ARE FOR DATA Like headings, tables are a semantic element and should be used for data rather than layout. If you want to lay out some content in a columned display then use <div>'s and the layout styles available (block-grid and columns). This not only works better but it allows the page to respond correctly on mobile devices, which tables cannot do. Block Quote
LINK TO ANCHOR IN THE TEXT This allows you to link to a section on the same page. You first need to create an anchor in that section in order to link to it: 1. Place the cursor where you want the anchor to be; usually just before a section heading. 2. Click the Anchor icon in the editor menu 3. Type a name for the anchor. Anchor names cannot have any spaces in them and typically include one or more words that describe the section. 4. Click OK to insert the anchor. Now link to the anchor: 1. Choose the 'Link to anchor in the text' option 2. Select the anchor from the list of available anchors 3. Click OK to insert the link LINKS TO ADDRESSES To link to an address: 1. Choose the ' ' option 2. Enter the address in the Address field 3. Optionally you can add a prefilled subject line and/or body text 4. Click OK to insert the link
TABS Used to display large amounts of data in a compact area that is much smaller than what you would normally need. A tabbed element separates different content blocks, yet combines them into one area that only takes up a small amount of space. Move sections into tabs, so the layout remains very clean and organized Option to select Open by default to any of the tabs; use short titles for each tab to avoid the tabs for wrapping to the next line. Option to add Read more link at the bottom. TAB SETTINGS Mode: Tabs Pills Tabs with Icons Select Advanced settings; select required Icon
Tabs with Icons (large) Displays the same as the Tabs with Icons, to be used on Landing pages only.
ACCORDION Accordion menus are based on the same concept as sliders and tabs: it takes a large amount of information and encapsulates it in a smaller area. Accordions are blocks organized in a vertical manner such that once a tab is clicked; a content-block slides upon the other one similar to an accordion, hence the name.
IMAGE/VIDEO/SLIDER Sliders, also known as carousels, are an organized, interactive and smooth way to present information. Sliders are a popular technique because they re very usable, and you can put content into a fixed, compact area that you want to show information only on demand. This helps the user focus attention on one content block at a time which is helpful and convenient. Choose image, slide image, or video; can add caption or teaser text with link if required; automatically moves to the next slide. Add caption and teaser text. Multiple images or videos
COLUMNS (ONLY ON LANDING PAGES) Can be used to display an image on left or right hand side of page by adding content into multiple columns or by laying out content. Example:
CALLOUT BOX LEFT ALIGNED Appearance: Regular Appearance: High Importance SIDEBAR Appearance: Regular Appearance: High Importance
LINKS SIDEBAR NEWS/EVENTS WIDGET
TESTIMONIALS LEFT ALIGNED Display without photo: SIDEBAR WIDGET/PREPARED MODULE EMBED (NOT FOR VIMEO/YOUTUBE)
EDITORIAL Access permissions SUMMARY Description of your content to be used in Search. 155 maximum. Tags: Keywords to describe your content. Used in search. MENU SETTINGS Menu link title usually populated with the title of the webpage Parent item drop down menu that allows users to add content in the navigation hierarchy.
