3 Creating Your First Event Name Your Event 1. Log into your My NFG Account at 2. Click Launch EventsNow 3. Click the New Event button 4. Give your event an Event Title and click the Create button Add an Event Contact 1. Click on the box labeled as Contact Organizer 2. Edit your Organizer information 3. Select whether you d like to display the contact information on your Event page (if the option is selected, the contact information will appear on your Event page) 4. 5 Add Event Details 1. Click on the section that contains your event name below the Network for Good logo 2. Enter your event details a. Event Title (pre populated with the text entered when creating the event) b. Date and Time of the event c. Location of the event EventsNow will automatically add a map for the address d. Hosted By information 3. Click the Save button EventsNow Getting Started Guide 5

6 Upload Your Logo/Image 1. Click on the Your Logo Here image 2. Browse to the logo or image that you d like to use on your events page (Note: The image will be resized to a maximum width of 200px or a maximum height of 150px. Image formats that we accept are.jpg,.gif, and.png.) 3. Click the Save button Add Tickets 1. Click the I Want to Attend section 2. Click the Create a Ticket button 3. Enter your ticket information a. Ticket Name b. Price This will be the amount the registrant will pay per quantity selected. (TIP: if the ticket is free, leave the price as $0.00.) c. Restrict by Date? Check this box if the tickets will only be available for purchase during a selected date range. If selected, you can choose the start and end date for ticket purchase. d. Description e. Deductible Amount This is the amount of the ticket price that will be tax deductible for the ticket purchaser. f. Attendees/Ticket Represents the number of attendees the ticket purchase will cover. (EXAMPLE: Enter 10 if purchasing one of the tickets is for a table of 10 at the event.) g. Total Available enter the number of tickets that are available at this price. If the number of available tickets is unlimited, leave 0 in this field. EventsNow Getting Started Guide 6

7 4. Click the Save button 5. If you would like to add another Ticket, click the Add a Ticket link and repeat steps 1 4 EventsNow Getting Started Guide 7

8 6. Need to change the order of your Tickets? Simply update the order in the fields next to the Ticket Name. 7. Click the Reorder button 8. If you would like to change the section name or turn off the Tickets section, click the Display Settings link 9. Edit the Section Title and/or Section Display. (Note: Selecting to hide the Tickets section will remove the section from your Event page.) 10. Click the Save button EventsNow Getting Started Guide 8

9 Add Donations 1. Click the I Cannot Attend But I Want to Donate section 2. Click Add a Donation Suggestion 3. Enter the donation information a. Description b. Suggested Amount This is the amount that the attendee will be charges in addition to their ticket(s) 4. Click the Save button 5. If you would like to add another Donation Suggestion, click the Add a Donation Suggestion link and repeat steps 1 4 (Note: Donation Suggestion amounts will display in order of smallest to greatest on your Event page.) 6. If you would like to change the section name or turn off the Donation section, click the Display Settings link 7. Edit the Section Title and/or Section Display. (Note: Selecting to hide the Donation section will remove the section from your Event page.) EventsNow Getting Started Guide 9

11 Add Event Details 1. Click the Event Details section below your Donation Suggestions 2. Enter your content. (Note: You can use the editor to compose your text and add standard formatting such as bolding and italics. The toolbar will behave much like your toolbar in Microsoft Word. For more information on the toolbar features, please see Using the Toolbar Features.) 3. Click the Save button EventsNow Getting Started Guide 11

12 Add Images or Video 1. Click the Image(s) or Video section 2. Select the type item that you d like to upload. a. Single Picture select this option if you d like to only display a single photo/graphic on your Event page. b. Slideshow select this option to upload multiple photos/graphics on your Event page. The items will rotate continuously on the page. c. YouTube select this option to embed your YouTube video 3. Once you have selected your picture(s) or video, click the Upload button Configure Guest List 1. Click the Guest List section 2. Edit your Section Title and/or Display settings. (Note: Selecting to hide the Guest List section will remove the section from your Event page.) 3. Click the Save button. EventsNow Getting Started Guide 12

13 Add Sponsors 1. Click the Sponsors section at the bottom of your event page 2. Select Add a Sponsor 3. Enter your sponsor s information a. Sponsorship Level This will determine the size that the sponsor appears on your Event page b. Sponsor Name c. Display Sponsor Logo? If selected, you can upload the sponsor logo to be displayed on the Event page d. Link to Sponsor s Website? If selected, you can enter the sponsor s URL and link to their web site from your Event page e. Restrict by Date? Check this box if the Sponsor will only appear on the Event page during a selected date range. If selected, you can choose the start and end date for ticket purchase. 4. Click the Save button 5. If you would like to add another Sponsor, click the Add a Sponsor link and repeat steps 1 4 (Note: Sponsors will display in alphabetical order on your Event page.) EventsNow Getting Started Guide 13

14 6. If you would like to change the section name or turn off the Sponsor section, click the Display Settings link 7. Edit the Section Title and/or Section Display. (Note: Selecting to hide the Sponsor section will remove the section from your Event page.) 8. Click the Save button Edit Your Page Design 1. Click the Edit Design tab at the top of the page 2. Pick a Theme for your Event. Use the buttons to browse through the available options. 3. Customize Page Colors Have specific colors that you d like to use? Enter the HTML color code in the indicated fields. Don t know HTML color codes? Check out this helpful Color Picker. 4. 16 Preview Your Event Now that you have entered all of your Event settings, click the Preview button to view your Event page. (Note: the editing links and tabs on the top of the Event page will not display on your live Event page that your attendees will see.) EventsNow Getting Started Guide 16

17 Publish Your Event If you are happy with your Event, click the Publish button. Once your event is published, you will be taken to another preview of your published Event page. (Note: the Welcome text and editing links on the top of the Event page will not display on your live Event page that your attendees will see.) Now it s time to get the word out about your Event! Click the Dashboard link at the top of the page to go to the Event Dashboard and get started. EventsNow Getting Started Guide 17

18 Using the Toolbar Features Here's a menu of toolbar icons and what each does: Allows you to paste in text from a website or another program. Strips out formatting so you can start fresh with clean text. Allows you to paste in text from Microsoft Word. Strips out formatting so you can start fresh with clean text. Applies the selected font to highlighted text and features a menu of Web standard fonts. Sizes highlighted text. Makes highlighted text bold. Italicizes highlighted text. Underlines highlighted text. Strikes through highlighted text. Applies color to highlighted text and features standard, grayscale and gradient color menus. Applies a background color to highlighted text. Left aligns highlighted text. Center aligns highlighted text. Right aligns highlighted text. Justifies highlighted text. Creates a numbered list. Creates a bulleted list. Un indents highlighted text. Indents highlighted text. Links your text to a Web page, address, document, bookmark or survey. Removes the link from your text. EventsNow Getting Started Guide 18

19 Inserts a bookmark (or anchor link) that can be linked to from another spot in your . Great for creating a menu of headlines at the top that link to corresponding stories below. Inserts a horizontal line, allowing you to set a width and height. Inserts a table within the text box. You can choose the number of columns as well as the number of rows. Using pixel numbers, you can also set cell spacing (how far apart each cell is) and cell padding (how much padding exists within the cell's border). For example, setting cell spacing to 5 means each cell will have 5 pixels of space between it and the next cell. Setting cell padding to 10 means each cell will have an invisible 10 pixels of padding like a 'frame' within its walls. When you add text to that cell, it will fit within the cell but not go any closer than 10 pixels from the wall of the cell. This button allows you to set properties to the current row, odd or even rows, or all rows of your table. Choose text alignment, the height of the row (in pixels) and background color. Allows you to set properties text alignment, height, background color to the current cell. Inserts a column to the left of the column where you've placed your cursor. Inserts a column to the right of the column where you've placed your cursor. Removes a column. Inserts a row before the row where you've placed your cursor. Inserts a row after the row where you've placed your cursor. Deletes the row where you've placed your cursor. This button splits cell that you've merged. This button merges cells into one. It's helpful when you'd like to make a title row across the top of your table. Displays the html code behind your formatted text.
