The information is provided as a guide only and Courier Mail assumes no responsibility for the accuracy or freshness of this information. Drupal 1.1 To add an RSS feed to a Drupal site you must be an administrator. Login as the Drupal administrator and select the modules page by selecting the Administer option in the navigation followed by Site Building and then Modules. A list of installed and available modules will be shown in the browser. Ensure that the Aggregator module is installed and enabled

2 1.2 You may need to modify the permissions for the newly added module by selecting User Management from the administration menu then Access Control. You may also need to update permissions under Roles for the anonymous user

3 1.3 Now add your feed by selecting Content Management then News aggregator. If you with you can optionally add a category at this point if you re intending to add many feeds. This will help organise them

4 1.4 Now you can add your feed. Use an update interval you think is appropriate. Drupal doesn t allow you to retrieve feeds for often than 15 minutes

5 1.5 Next we need to add the headlines to a content block in order to have them appear on the site. From the Administration menu select Site Building then Blocks. You ll see below we ve added the NEWS.com.au feed to the right sidebar

7 Mambo 2.1 To add an RSS feed to a Mambo site you must be an administrator. Login as the Mambo administrator. From the administration screen open the Modules menu and select Site Modules

8 2.2 Select New and fill in the relevant details. Generally headlines go in the panel on the right hand side of the page. It s a good idea to select No for the feed description as the title of your module appears above the headline. Enter the address of the RSS feed and select how many items you want to appear. It s also a good idea to turn caching on so that the feed isn t retrieved every time the page is loaded. This helps us out and ensures that the content loads more quickly on your site. In the Pages/Items box on the right, select what pages you want to have the headlines appear on. Leaving the default of All on is fine

9 2.3 Press Save and check out the homepage of your site

10 Wordpress.com 3.1 Log in to your wordpress.com account and select Presentation from your blog administration screen, then select Widgets. Below you ll see a list of available widgets

11 3.2 Drag and drop the RSS 1 widget from the list below and drop it in the side bar field

12 3.3 Click the Page symbol in the RSS widget now located in the sidebar panel and enter the RSS feed details. Optionally enter a feed title. If not the title will be extracted from the RSS feed

13 3.4 Visit your blog home page and the feed headlines will appear in the sidebar

14 RSS to Javascript 4.1 Visit the website at Click the Get Started link and enter the URL of the RSS feed you d like to convert. 4.2 Select the display options you d like to use. We recommend - Show Channel - no - Show Simplified Channel yes - Number of items - you choose - Show item descriptions no - Show item posting date no - Link target blank - CSS controls Leave as is 4.3 Now preview your feed in the website 4.4 If you re happy with the display, you can copy and paste the code snippet and use 4.5 it in your own site

15 My Yahoo 5.1 Log in to you re MyYahoo page and select in which column you d like the headlines to appear. At the bottom of the column select Add Content. Later if you don t like where the headlines are placed you can rearrange the modules on the page

16 5.2 Select the Add RSS by URL link located to the right of the screen

17 5.3 Add the URL to the RSS feed and press Add

18 5.4 You ll be presented with a preview of the headlines to make sure it s what you want. If you re happy, press Add to My Yahoo to add the headlines to your page

19 Yahoo To add an RSS feed to your Yahoo 360 page, first login in to your Yahoo 360 home page and select My Page from the top navigation menu

20 6.2 You ll be presented with various page module options. Locate and select and Feeds panel and click on the text in the module to add an RSS feed

21 6.3 You can add up to 3 RSS feeds in this module. For this example we ll add just one. Paste in the URL of the RSS feed and click Save

22 6.4 Check out your Yahoo 306 home page to see NEWS.com.au headlines on your site

23 Windows Live Spaces 7.1 Log in your Windows Live Spaces page. To add an RSS feed click on the Add Stuff link in the top right

24 7.2 To add a custom RSS feed, select Advanced Options instead of browsing for content

25 7.3 Paste the RSS feed URL in to the feed URL entry field and press the Subscribe button

26 7.4 Check out your NEWS.com.au headlines on your Windows Live page

27 Blogger.com 8.1 Login in to your blogger.com account. To add an RSS feed select the Template tab at the top of your screen. The following steps may vary slightly depending on the type of template your blog is using

28 8.2 Locate and click on Add a page element on the right hand side of your template

29 8.3 Locate the Feed option and click Add to Blog

30 8.4 Paste the URL of the RSS feed you would like to use

31 8.5 A preview is displayed showing the content of the RSS feed. You can alter some basic options. When you re satisfied, click Save Changes

32 8.6 You ll now note that the NEWS.com.au RSS feed has been added to the right hand panel. Click Preview to see this in your template
