1 Lab 6: Create a Simple Case Source In this lab you will create a Case Source. In the Case Source you will: Set a prefix for all of the cases and alerts generated by your process. This prefix will be displayed in the Case Management user interface. Select which workflow will be used for cases and which workflow will be used for alerts. Define the fields that will appear in Case Management for each of your two streams of data (by default a field will automatically be created for each attribute in the data streams). Define the keys used for cases and alerts. o These function like primary keys and determine how relationships are grouped into alerts and how alerts are grouped into cases. Map attributes from your EDQ process to attributes that will be displayed in the Case Management UI. In a later lab you will also configure a parameter for your Case Source, but we will not cover that in this lab. Case Sources are configured using the Director user interface. Set a Review System 1. Return to the Director user interface. 2. In the Project Browser, if necessary expand your Case Management Training project. 3. Ensure that the Audit and Publish Errors to Case Management process is open on the canvas. 4. On the canvas, double-click the Advanced Match processor to open it. 5. Click the Advanced Options link. 6. The Options window will open. In the Review System dropdown, select Case Management. The Case Source tab will appear. Page 1 of 11

2 Create Your Case Source 1. In the Options window, navigate to the Case Source tab. Note that the Case Source tab has two sub-tabs: PARTS Table and Error. Each of the two tabs relates to one of the streams of data that you have fed into the Advanced Match processor. 2. Click to create a new Case Source. The New Source Data window will open. 3. Enter a Source Prefix of ERROR and click Next >. 4. The next step is to select your workflows. a) In the Case dropdown select Cases Workflow. Page 2 of 11

3 b) In the Alert dropdown select Alerts Workflow. 5. Click Next >. 6. In the Open dropdown select Possible Match. Page 3 of 11

4 7. Click Next >. You now need to configure the Alert Data Items. 8. Select the PARTS Table data stream and click. The Source Data Columns window is displayed. 9. By default, all of the PARTS table s attributes will be displayed in Case Management. Since you do not want to add any extra attributes or delete any of the existing ones, just click Next >. 10. In the next step, you are going to add attributes from the PARTS table data stream to the Alert and Case keys. In the Display Columns list, double-click UNIQUEID to add it to the Alert Key. Then in the Alert Key column, double-click UNIQUEID again to add it to the Page 4 of 11

5 Case Key. 11. Click Next >. 12. Leave the Item Name set to PARTS Table and click Finish. 13. In the New Source Data window, select Error and click. Page 5 of 11

6 14. The Source Data Columns window is displayed. 15. By default, both of the Error data stream s attributes will be displayed in Case Management. Since you do not want to add any extra attributes or delete any of the existing ones, just click Next >. 16. In the next step, you are going to add attributes from the Error data stream to the Alert key. In the Display Columns list, double-click Error Message to add it to the Alert Key. Page 6 of 11

7 Do not add Error Message to the Case Key. 17. Click Next >. 18. Leave the Item Name set to Error and click Finish. You will return to the Alert Data Items window. Page 7 of 11

8 19. Click Next >. 20. We are not going to set any Parameter Mappings for cases at the moment, so just click Next > without making any changes. Page 8 of 11

9 21. We are not going to set any Parameter Mappings for alerts either, so again, just click Next > without making any changes. The Source Name window will open. 22. Enter a Name of Errors and click Finish. You will return to the Options window. Map Data Streams Attributes to Case Management Fields 1. In the Options window, ensuring that you are on the PARTS Table tab, select PARTS Table in the Map to source data dropdown. 2. Click Map by Name. Each of the attributes from the PARTS Table data stream should now be mapped to a Case Management field. Page 9 of 11

10 The letters [ C A ] beside the UNIQUEID indicate that this field is part of both the case key and the alert key. 3. In the Options window, navigate to the Error tab. 4. Select Error in the Map to source data dropdown. 5. Click Map by Name. Each of the attributes from the Errors data stream should now be mapped to a Case Management field. Page 10 of 11

11 The letter [ A ] beside Error Message indicates that this field is part of the alert key. 6. Click OK to close the Options window. Your Errors Case Source is now ready to use. Page 11 of 11
