3 This manual shows you the necessary steps to plan a WorKit configuration. 1. First steps Open Product Planner and go in the catalogue into Vitra -> Office Systems -> Workstation Systems -> WorKit. The catalogue has following content: In the folder Meeting tables and Star-shaped workstation you will find tables with predefined dimensions. To configure a WorKit Bench, please click on the tool Workstations at the left side of the catalogue. A sort of table top will be inserted in the planning area: Page 3 January 2012

4 In the Properties window on the right side you can now define the dimensions of your bench: The table top depth, the length and the table top division. After defining the measurements choose in the line Construction mode -> Complete Planning. Please note that after that step you can t change the dimensions anymore (except the length), so you have to be sure that these are the right dimensions!!! Now you see your basic bench on the planning area: When the whole bench is selected (red frame) as you see above, the Properties window on the right side is empty. Page 4 January 2012

5 2. Configuration of each table To proceed with the configuration of the bench you have to click on only one table, so that only one table has the red frame. Only when one table is selected, the Properties window is filled. That means that you have to configure each table of the bench separately (if you don t want to do that please read the last point Helpful tips ). To select the whole configuration again (for example if you want to move it) you can do it by double click. Go into the Properties window to proceed with the configuration: Width: Here you can define the width of the table (from 160cm-240cm). Page 5 January 2012

6 Under table unit: Here you have the possibilities 4 legs powder coated or 2 legs, prepared to take two under-table boxes. If you choose the second one, you will have the under-table boxes: Please note: For the table on the left side you have the possibilities named above. For the table/tables on the right side, you have only the possibilities 2 legs powder coated and prepared f. 2 under-table boxes. The reason for this is that the left table is the basic table with 4 legs and all the other tables are addon tables with only two legs. Basic table height: You have this option only when the basic table is selected. When you change the basic height of the basic table, the height for the other tables will be changed automatically. Additional height (4 adapters): Here you can add height adapters. Cable management: Here you can add the Cable basket large which will be inserted under the table top, see below. Page 6 January 2012

7 Click on the Technical units in the center of the table: In the Properties window you can define if you want to have socket blocks under the technical unit. Please define all these points for each table. Page 7 January 2012

8 3. Supplementary elements If you have a bench with the depth 80cm please go into the folder Accessories for single workstation, if you have a bench with the depth 160cm go into the folder Addons double workstation. Return table: Select the table element on which you want to add the Return table. Now you can just click on the Return table in the catalogue or you can do it by drag and drop. If you do it by drag and drop 1 it s important that the point of the mouse cursor is inside of the red frame when you place the table. You can move the Return table by clicking on it and move it with the mouse. When you have under-table boxes, the return table can t be inserted in the corner of the under-table boxes. 1 Drag and Drop: Click on the article in the catalogue, keep your mouse clicked and move the mouse to the place where you want to put the article. Then unhand the mouse button and the article will be inserted. Page 8 January 2012

9 Extension tables: Select the table on which you want to add the extension table. You can just click on the extension table in the catalogue or you can do it by drag and drop. Storage box: The same is valid as for the extension tables, see above. The storage boxes can also be put on the extension table with the dimensions 38cmx160cm, as you can see below. As default the storage boxes are inserted always on the right side of a table element. When you would like to have it on the other side, you have to do it by drag and drop. In the properties window the storage box can be configured (only if the storage box is selected on the planning area). Side Screen: The same is valid as for the extension tables. In the Properties window you can define the fabric/color. Screen: The same is valid as for the extension tables. In the Properties window you can define the fabric/color as well as the version (fixed screen 100cm or 120cm or sliding screen 100cm). Screen accessories: The accessories can be mounted on the Side Screen and on-table Screen. If you want to add accessories to the Side Screen/Screen it s important that you choose Accessory rail -> with during you configure the screens in the Properties window. Page 9 January 2012

10 With Accessory rail Without Accessory rail When you add the accessories to the screens, please select only the accessory rail as follows: Then choose your accessory from the catalog and insert it by clicking on it or by drag and drop. Page 10 January 2012

11 When the accessory element is selected as you see above, you can move it - to the left and to the right by clicking with the left mouse button on it and moving the mouse to the desired direction. - to the other side of the screen by clicking with the right mouse button on it and moving the mouse to the desired direction. 12 CPU PU-Holder Holder: Select the table on which you want to add the CPU-Holder. You can just click on the CPU-Holder in the catalogue or you can do it by drag and drop. When you just click on it, the object will be inserted only on one side. If you want to have it on the other side, you have to do this by drag and drop. You can move the CPU-holder to the left and to the right by clicking with the left mouse button on it and moving the mouse to the desired direction. CPU-Holder for under-table box: Select the under-table box on which you want to add the CPU-Holder and insert it. Page 12 January 2012

13 Material tray swivel: Select the table on which you want to add the Material tray swivel. You can just click on it in the catalogue or you can do it by drag and drop. The same is valid for the blotters as well as for the tool ol box and bookend end. At the end your WorKit bench could look like this: Now you can insert the chairs. 4. Helpful tips Interactive property transfer If you don t want to configure all table elements separately, the Interactive property transfer is very helpful, especially when you have more than one bench. How it works: Select a table element and configure it. Then click on the following symbol in the tool bar: A little window will open, in which you can define which properties should be transferred from one table to another. After confirming by ok your mouse cursor will transform into a little paint bucket. Click now on all the table elements which should get the properties. The properties will be transferred now. Please note that the interactive property transfer is only possible with two identical articles, that means you can t transfer the properties from the basic table to the addon table. Consequently, for plannings as you see on the image above the property transfer wouldn t make sense. It only makes sense when you have more than 2 table elements or more than one bench. Insert supplementary elements Please remember: To insert a supplementary element you have to select the object on which you want to add it before. Otherwise the article will be put on the floor.
