Review this information thoroughly before installing Strategic Finance. This release of Hyperion Strategic Finance is an English only release. Installation Updates This section contains the latest information for installing this release. Upgrade Paths In addition to the supported upgrade path in the Hyperion Installation Start Here, Oracle s Hyperion Strategic Finances also supports the following upgrade path(s): 9.x to Upgrading If you upgrade any Hyperion product to release 9.3.1, you must also upgrade Hyperion Shared Services to release Hyperion License Compliance Hyperion no longer ships or requires Hyperion License Server (or standalone license files) for use with Hyperion products. To ensure compliance with your license agreement, Hyperion recommends that you implement an auditing process. In addition, during product configuration with Hyperion Configuration 1

2 Utility, you activate only the features you purchased. For more information, see Hyperion License Compliance in Hyperion Installation Start Here. Security for Relational Database Export and Analytic Services When installing relational database export or Extended Analytics, when you setup login properties and secure user mapping for the database user, ensure you select, at minimum, the following database role membership options: Customer_Interface db_owner db_securityadmin HSFService public ( ) Security for the HSF Service The HSF Service is installed with standard security. To secure it further, it is recommended you limit access to the minimum options necessary. On the Advanced Security Settings for HSFService Permissions tab, select the following: Allow inheritable permissions from the parent to propagate to this object and all child objects. Include these with entries explicitly defined here. Replace permission entities on all child objects with entities shown here that apply to child objects. On the Permission Entity for HSFService Object tab, select Allow for the following: Query Value Set Value Create Subkey Delete Read Control Security for Strategic Finance Server Directories The \Hyperion\StrategicFinance\Server, \HSFData, and \HYPERION_HOME\logs\hsf directories are created with standard read/write/access permissions. To secure it further, it is recommended you limit access to the minimum options necessary. ( , ) 2

To secure it further, it is recommended you limit access to the minimum necessary. ( ) Log Files and Documentation Moved to HYPERION_HOME The following log file directories have been moved into HYPERION_HOME\logs\hsf: \debug \eventlogs \userlogs The following help directories have been moved into HYPERION_HOME\common\docs\hsf: \admin \client Accessing Hyperion Product Documentation The most recent version of each Hyperion product guide is available for download from the Documentation area of the Oracle Technical Network (OTN) Web site ( Documentation is also available from the Oracle E-Delivery Web site ( Please note that individual product guides are available for download on the Oracle Technical Network (OTN) Web site only. Defects Fixed in this Release In HSF Server, an error when starting up HSFServer after upgrade has been fixed In Debt Scheduler, payment schedule percentage amounts accept decimal places when using European regional settings. 3

4 In Consolidator, the correct status is reported for excluded entities Forecast methods in dimensional account are upgrading correctly from HSF An issue with Excel batch import process spawning multiple excel.exe instances is fixed An issue with interest variable Cash Interest Rate (V ) has been fixed In HSF Client, an issue when double-clicking on text fields containing special characters has been fixed In Currency Translator, an issue with assigning translation currency has been fixed Umlauts display correctly in map dialog boxes You can now log on to HSF with Native Directory users In Entity Change Manager, an issue with accounts are not calculating has been fixed It is now possible to copy data from Excel into a freestyle report, then copy that information from one freestyle report into another. However, the fix only works for Excel data copied after this release is installed. For Excel data copied into a freestyle report prior to this release then upgraded, you will need to copy the data directly from the Excel source to paste it into the upgraded file, and the new copy will have the fix An issue with funding option changes in New Senior Notes ( ) is causing discrepancies in the Chg. In Cash & Cash Equiv. ( ) and Net Cash Provided by Financing ( ) is fixed Values now update after a batch run. Enhancements in this Release In the Client, on the Subaccounts dialog box, the Subtotal starting at subacount option now allows enough room to display all digits up to the maximum of three In the Administrator utility, the Create Rule Set Scenarios tab now includes the Export All Scenarios options. Before using this option, on the Create Rule Set Time tab, you must set a default time rule HSF Server now verifies the Entity ID Number is unique when creating entities. 4

5 Known Issues When managing Shared Services models and naming applications, you cannot use the forward slash (/), backslash (\), or double quotation ( ) characters. All other alphanumeric and special characters can be used in application names There is an issue using the ZIP file backup and restore utility In Extended Analytics, there are issues exporting entities.
