1 SAP SuccessFactors Q Review Platform By James Clough, Solution Architect, ROC GDPR General Data Protection Regulation This reform of European Data Protection deadline is looming with less than 200 days until May 2018 when companies need solutions to stay compliant. SuccessFactors has plans to cover data logging, auditing, purging, blocking and consent but in this release there are two beta release items for testing. Data Retention Time Management can stop data from being purged before policy allows DRM Tool can be enabled by Admins to support Purge requests and allow deletion of those purge requests in Maintenance Monitor. Extension Centre/MDF Previously, when there was a definition change to the MDF data model or a Generic Object, a manual refresh of OData was subsequently required; now, the MDF OData metadata job is automatically triggered to refresh When a workflow is rejected or cancelled, this will make the record become pending history which can then be queried by MDF OData Admin A new MDF export will address some issues with performance and scalability Enabling of Extension Centre - Generic Objects through feature upgrades without provisioning Validation of child objects to provide data model consistency As part of compliance to EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Extension Centre and MDF have implemented the following features in 1711: o Legislation solution for MDF object type configuration o Migrate RDP to new legislation solution for MDF object type configuration o Change Log Comparator o Log read access from API call, within exports and from UI o Surface concerned warning messages in Extension Centre. 1

2 Employee Profile/People Profile A minor enhancement in Q4 for editing layout with numerous fixes ranging from performance, User interface issues and links now corrected. Job Profile Builder The system now allows role-competency mappings in JPB to JDM sync, when the same behaviour name is defined under different competencies and even terminated/inactive users are considered as valid Job Codes. Rules Engine A Data Protection and Privacy requirement can be met by permission to restrict a User from viewing potentially sensitive data in a rule trace Differentiate Users from creating a rule trace and accessing the log file Purge rule traces permanently by deleting log files without deleting the rule trace definition The user is also now assigned to the rule traces so they can be filtered. Self Service SSO/User Management An Admin tool has been created to allow customers to manage their trust definitions between corporate IDP and SuccessFactors systems but also includes setup for other SAP systems or 3 rd parties. 2

3 Role Based Permissions You can now sync EC workflow groups between instances Platform Tools When using Instance sync you will be able to use a Comparison tool for MDF Object Definitions A new feature that displays Usage Analytics to see Search Count by Session. UX SuccessFactors apps can now be embedded in SAP Fiori launchpad (FLP) to allow a single entry point for both Finance and HR scenarios. 3

4 The Fiori Home Page now provides additional info for standard tiles First time logins will be shown a cookie acknowledgement to support GDPR. Improvements in browser tracking mean that the system will check that the session is truly expired 4

5 Application error dialogs now have a direct link to knowledge base articles to assist with resolution SAP Successfactors and Thrive Global have partnered to deliver a series of resources to support health and well-being with a home page tile. The 1 st part Unplug and Recharge is being offered free to all Employee Central customers via the Upgrade Centre. The tile links to a private section of the Thrive Global website where they can access a survey and other reading materials. 5
