Top Ensuring License Compliance Oracle's Hyperion License Server and standalone licenses are no longer used for license management. Instead, administrators must audit product use for all products. To ensure compliance with your license agreement, Hyperion recommends that you activate or deactivate features according to your license agreement and audit your usage. If you are using Oracle s Hyperion Data Integration Management, you still need to retrieve license keys. See Retrieving License Keys for Data Integration Management on page 14. Top Activating and Deactivating Product s During product configuration with Hyperion Configuration Utility, a registry.properties is copied to <Hyperion_Home>\common\config on the server on which you ran Hyperion Configuration Utility. After configuration (and before you validate the installation) you must open this file using any text editor to review and specify the product options you are activating. You must complete this step to ensure you comply with your license agreement and to activate features you are licensed to use. 1

2 Note: You do not need to complete this step for the following products: Oracle s Hyperion Data Integration Management Oracle s Hyperion Translation Manager Oracle s Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management Oracle s Hyperion Data Relationship Management To review or edit the product options that are activated: 1 Open registry.properties in <Hyperion_Home>\common\config on the server on which you ran Hyperion Configuration Utility in any text editor 2 Review or edit the entries for the products you installed. The file includes a line for each product and option. The format for each product feature or product is: <feature_name>=true false, true false The first entry indicates whether to activate the feature. The second entry is for internal use only and should not be changed. 3 If necessary, edit the entries so that the first entry is true for products or features you are licensed to use and false for products or features you are not licensed to use. Ignore the second entry in each line of the file. See Editing the registry.properties File on page 2 for information about the options in registry.properties. 4 Save the file. 5 Restart the Hyperion services related to any of the entries you changed. Editing the registry.properties File The values you specify in registry.properties depend on which products and features you purchased. Consult the following tables for information about the features available for each product. Consult your order(s) to confirm the product(s) you have purchased. Each table represents a unique product. Each row in the table represents a product feature. The column indicates the value that should appear for that feature in registry.properties. If the entry in your registry.properties file is not the same as the entry in the column for the product you purchased, edit registry.properties. Top 2

14 Auditing Usage You must audit services and users in accordance with your license agreement and the Software Copy and Use Schedule. To audit users, create a provisioning report. See Generating Provisioning Reports in the Hyperion Security Administration Guide. A provisioning report provides a list of users provisioned to each application, either directly or through a group. Retrieving License Keys for Data Integration Management If you have purchased licenses for Data Integration Management, retrieve full use license keys from the license_dim.doc file located within the.zip file titled Hyperion Start Here: License Files and Installation Documents on the Oracle E-Delivery Web site. To obtain the license_dim.doc file: 1 On the Oracle E-Delivery Welcome page, select a language if necessary and then click the link to continue to export validation. 2 Select the Hyperion Performance Management and BI product pack and a platform, and then click Go. 3 Select Hyperion Performance Management and BI (9.2.x) Media Pack for the platform that you specified. 4 Click Download on the row for Hyperion Start Here: License files and Installation Documents, and save the file in a temporary directory. 5 Extract the contents of the downloaded file, including license_dim.doc, into the temporary directory.
