1 PC CONNECTED WIRELESSLY TO WIRELESS BRIDGE VIA A WLAN ACCESS POINT 1. Connect the blue Ethernet cable of the demo to your laptop Ethernet port. 2. Change your Ethernet adapter IPV4 properties to: IP Address: Subnet Mask:

2 3. Open a web browser and enter in the address bar. Here you'll find the most common configuration parameters needed to setup a connection. 4. The Wireless Bridge must operate in Client Mode in this use case. Define the Wireless LAN settings as follows: a. Scan for Networks. b. From the drop down menus select the Network with SSID: HMSAccessPoint. c. Under Operating Mode select Infrastructure. d. Under Channel select 0 e. Under Channel List select 1-11 f. Under the security settings select the correct Security Mode and enter the Passkey Passkey: accesspoint g. Under Client Mode settings select the Mode Client Mode. h. Click on the Scan MAC Addresses Button. i. From the drop down menu select the MAC address corresponding to the PLC (Look for the white label in the PLC. j. Click on the Write Wireless LAN Settings button. 5. The wireless bridge will connect to the Access Point. Check the Wireless Bridge and look for a blue light on the )))) led.

3 6. Close the web browser and disconnect the blue Ethernet cable of the demo from your laptop Ethernet port. 7. Make sure your PC wireless is on. 8. Connect to the wireless network HMSAccessPoint and enter the security key: accesspoint. 9. If you have a version of RSLinx Installed in your PC you can load it. 10. Configure a new Ethernet/IP driver and select the TAP-Win32 Adapter that has the IP configured as My computer s IP on the remote LAN as show below. 11. When browsing that driver you should see the Micro850.

5 PC CONNECTED REMOTELY VIA NETBITER/ARGOS 12. Connect your PC to a Network with Internet Access. 13. Open a web browser and enter in the address bar. 14. Log In to your station account (Refer to the Demo Configuration document in the front page).

6 15. Once logged in, go to (a)management and then click on (b)there are 1 pending system(s) 16. Click on Activate. 17. Select as primary usage for this system Remote Access and then click on Activate.

7 18. Make sure the system is online, search for a green star in the status bar. If the star is in red ask the instructor for help. 19. Click on configuration and enter the settings as shown in the image below. a. Select configuration menu. b. Turn ON the Network Bridge. c. Turn ON the Digital Input Lock d. Turn ON the relay output for Onsite Indication e. Select the Americas as the preferred server Location. (Must select the server closer to the hardware). f. Click on Save

8 20. Configure the LAN port of the Netbiter: a. Under Mode select Manual set IP address and Netmask b. Enter the IP Address for the LAN port (Refer to the Demo Configuration document in the front page). c. Enter Netmask d. Click on Save. 21. Download the configuration to the Netbiter by clicking in the Synchronize configuration button. 22. Wait until the synchronization is completed and then close the popup window. 23. If you haven t installed the software QuickConnect given in the USB drive you must do it now using the flash drive or you can download and install it as follows. a. Go to the presentation menu. b. Click on the download link as shown below.

9 24. Once QuickConnect is installed (You may need to restart your computer to complete the installation), launch it. 25. Sign into QuickConnect using the same credentials you used to login (Refer to the Demo Configuration document in the front page). 26. Click on the Demo Station. 27. Add a New Device

10 28. Add a Custom device by clicking on the plus (+) sign in front of Custom 29. Click on top of the Custom text and change it to Demo Station 30. Then click on Add a Channel and select Network Bridge. 31. Enter My computer s IP on Remote LAN and Netmask on remote LAN (Refer to the Demo Configuration document in the front page).

11 32. On the demo enable the Digital Input Lock make sure to push the black button. 33. In QuickConnect click on the Connect button 34. Once the Tunnel is stablished you will be able to access the PLC. 35. If you have a version of RSLinx Installed in your PC you can load it. 36. Configure a new Ethernet/IP driver and select the TAP-Win32 Adapter that has the IP configured as My computer s IP on the remote LAN as show below. 37. When browsing that driver you should see the Micro850.

13 TEAM UP WITH YOUR DEMO STATION PARTNER TO CONFIGURE THE NETBITER/ARGOS FOR REMOTE MONITORING 1. Connect the Netbiter WAN port to the Ethernet cable in the table. 2. Connect your PC to a Network with Internet Access. 3. Open a web browser and enter in the address bar. 4. Log In to your station account (Refer to the Demo Configuration document in the front page).

14 5. Once logged in, go to (A)Management and (B)Select the Demo Station 6. Click on (A) Configuration and then (B) switch the Use this system for remote access to OFF. 7. Once in OFF the Configuration window will change. 8. Under the (A) Device Configuration click on (B) add device.

15 9. When adding a device select Use device from a template, as a Device type select Modbus and then in the Template drop down menu select RoadShowDemo. 10. Enter the device information. a. Name you device based on the station you are working on. b. Enter the number 1 as your Modbus Slave. c. Enter the IP address of your PLC (Refer to the Demo Configuration document in the front page). d. Click Next. 11. Click on Save

16 12. Now we will add a Logging Parameter. a. Select the Logging Tab. b. Click on Add log parameter. c. In the drop down menu of Device select your Station. d. In the drop down menu of Group select System Info. e. In the drop down menu of Parameter select Pressure Gauge. f. In the drop down menu of Log Interval select 5 min. g. In the drop down menu of Log Type select Value. h. Click on Save. 13. Next we will add a Visualization Parameter. a. Select the Visualization Tab. b. Click on Add visualization parameter. c. In the drop down menu of Device select your Station. d. In the drop down menu of Parameter select Pressure Setpoint. e. Click on Save.

17 14. To finish the configuration we will add an Alarm Parameter. a. Select the Alarm Tab. b. Click on Add Alarm parameter. c. In the drop down menu of Device select Netbiter. d. In the drop down menu of Group select I/O Digital. e. In the drop down menu of Parameter select Digital Input 1. f. Under Description enter System Locked. g. In the drop down menu of Trigger select Equal to. h. Under Value enter 1. i. In the drop down menu of Severity select Major. j. Click on Save.

18 15. Download the configuration to the Netbiter by clicking in the Synchronize configuration button. 16. Wait until the synchronization is completed and then close the popup window. 17. While the Netbiter reboots and goes online again we will create a Dashboard based on the configuration we just made. 18. Add a Dashboard: a. Select the Dashboard Tab. b. Click on Add 19. On the right menu, under widgets expand the Live Values and then Click on Add Drawing.

19 20. When the Widget appears, click on Edit. 21. In the drawing select Add Component 22. From the Public Library expand and look for the Yellow Gauge, select it and then click OK 23. Double click on the Gauge to bring up the properties window and then click on the plus sign (+) as shown below.

20 24. From the available parameters select Pressure Gauge and then click OK. 25. Close the component properties. 26. From the right hand menu select the Add Parameter Text, once selected click on the grey area where you would like to position it. Then double click on it to bring up the object properties and finally click on the plus sign (+). 27. Once again from the available parameters select Pressure Gauge and then click OK.

21 28. Close the properties. 29. Save and Exit the Drawing. 30. Now we will add a value list widget. a. From the right menu expand live values and select add value list b. Once the widget appears click on edit. c. On the settings pop-up window click on add.

22 31. From the available parameters select Pressure Setpoint and then click OK. 32. Close the settings window by clicking on OK 33. We have finished our demo Dashboard. Click on presentation and it will take you to the dashboard you have just created.
