Introduction ADSGPS consists of 6 LEDs and 4 buttons. Each button is associated with the corresponding menu displayed on the HOME screen. 3

Installation Installing the "ADSGPS" Display 1) For optimal reception quality of the ADSGPS, the antenna located in the compartment at the top right of the ADSGPS must have a good clearance 2)Avoid passing the brake and acceleration cables in front of the antenna. 3) We recommend placing, as far as possible, from the motorcycle gauge (see picture on left). 4) Camera waves (GoPro or other) strongly disrupt GPS waves. A minimum gap of 30 cm is required between the ADSGPS and the camera. Power Supply The ADSGPS is supplied with 2 AA 1.5V batteries but can also work with 2 AA 1.2V rechargeable batteries which offer very good results, with an ALFANO external power supply (Art.Nr.: A4002) connected to a battery of voltage between 6V and 18V, or an ALFANO battery (Art.-No.: A4006). An energy gauge in the home menu shows you the power of the power supply. When the power becomes too weak (used batteries or discharged accumulators), a message warns you. When this message appears, the ADSGPS turns off automatically after 10 seconds. Note: - Remember to check your energy gauge before starting a race if it lasts a long time. - The consumption as well as the discharge speed of the batteries depends on the quality and type of battery, so it is strongly recommended to change the batteries as soon as the prevention message. Use with old batteries will damage the batteries and may damage your ADSGPS. - Value, as an indication, for charged or new batteries: - Average consumption without backlight in race ~25 h autonomy - Average consumption with backlight at 50% (value 5) ~14 h autonomy - Average consumption with 90% backlight (value 9) ~10 h autonomy - More than 100h with the ALFANO battery with backlight at 50% (value5). 4

Attention: These values are given for information only, it also depends on the quality of the batteries. Battery The technology applied to our new systems requires a higher energy consumption, the quality of the battery is important, a bad brand can lose its energy after a few months of storage even out of use. There are 3 major families of AA batteries on the market. Salines : they only have about a third of the energy of an Alkaline. Alkalines : these are the most common batteries on the market. Rechargeables : Very good compromise, but the differences in quality from one brand to another are important. A bad brand loses its energy even out of use, and up to 1% per day, moreover, these batteries have a memory effect, if you charge a battery that is half full, with use, you will not be able to use only half of the energy stored, the other half will be lost forever. There are very good rechargeable batteries whose off-duty discharge is less than 12% per year and have little or no memory effect. Examples of recommended brands: SANYO Enellope XX and UNIROSS Hydro, are known by photography professionals IMPORTANT WARNING Always use branded and quality batteries. Never leave the batteries in your device if it is not used within 2 to 3 weeks to prevent battery leakage electronics causing irreparable damage. The guarantee does not work in the event of battery leakage. 5

Track Management " To choose " View or rename an existing track. "New" Create a new track. " Remove " Delete an existing track. " To send " Send an existing track via Bluetooth to another ADSGPS. " To receive " Receive, via Bluetooth, a track from another ADSGPS. Information For the visualization and the logical recording of the data, it is necessary, before using the ALFANO in race, to configure the morphology of the track. This menu consists of creating tracks (80 maximum) and saving them. a) Creation of a GPS track Name of the track Press the button corresponding to 'OK' to enter the name of the new track (11 characters maximum), you can use the 26 letters of the alphabet, 10 digits from 0 to 9 and the space. You must go to the end of the 11 characters to validate the name of the track. 1- GPS position record. 15

Press the button corresponding to 'OK' to record the GPS positions. a) Closed track. The recording is done by rolling. Press the button at the top right corresponding to 'Start' as you cross the start line to record the GPS coordinates of the start line. If you wish, you can save the GPS coordinates of 4 partial times by pressing the button at the top right and the GPS coordinates of 5 speed points by pressing the button at the top left. When your turn is complete, the ADSGPS will automatically recognize your starting line and complete the recording of the track. Your new track will then be saved in the memory of the ADSGPS Open track 16

Check-in at the start line is stopped. The partial times will be done while driving. Go to the start line and press the button at the top right corresponding to 'OK' to save the GPS coordinates of the start line. If you wish, you can save the GPS coordinates of 4 partial times by pressing the button at the top right and the GPS coordinates of 5 speed points by pressing the button at the top left. A short press on the bottom left button will record the GPS coordinates of the finish line and finalize the recording of the track. Your new track will then be saved in the memory of the ADSGPS End of the registration b) Slalom track The slalom is an open track with several passages on the finish line. The number of passages on the finish line (maximum 4) must be set during the creation of the track. If, for example, the number of finish passes = 2: we will then have the starting line, 2 passages on the finishing line corresponding to the partial times and the 3rd crossing on the finishing line which will finally close the session.. Check-in at the start line is stopped. Go to the start line and press the button at the top right corresponding to 'OK' to save the GPS coordinates of the start line. 17

A brief press on the button at the bottom left records the GPS coordinates of the finish line. The split times will be the number of passes on the finish line. End of the registration In the track list, the displayed track will be accompanied by its ID, example: "45D8-23G1" Possibility to replace the name of the track (LAP, TRIAL, SLALOM), in "Tracks List", a pressure of 1 second on the button 'OK', you activate the following window and you repeat the same operations as when you create a new track. Note: only the name can be changed, not GPS positions, ID remains the same. c) Rally track 18

A rally track includes several sectors. The area can be a transfer, a special or a service park. Only special stage times will be stored in the ADSGPS. Each sector must be previously set in the ADSGPS using the log book. You must enter the type of sector (transfer, special or park), for transfers and specials you must enter the time of the trip and its distance. The ADSGPS will then automatically give the average speed to respect the rules of the rally. ("Composition"). Note: the service park areas will only be used to respect a correct chronology of the sectors in relation to the log book. We scroll through the different sectors with the button at the top left corresponding to 'S', we enter the sector to set it with the button at the top right corresponding to 'OK' Example: we set the first sector, we choose "transfer". After setting the sectors, return to the selection menu by pressing the button at the bottom right. Then select "Save. Pos. GPS "and validate by pressing 'OK'. We can then start recording the GPS coordinates of the different sectors. (operation that can be done at another time) 19

Registration of the GPS coordinates of the Transfers and Special Areas ("GPS Position Record"), ex: - departures from sectors - the arrivals of the sectors - - If they are specials, it is also necessary the arrival of specials and possibly 4 partial and maximum 5 points of speed for each special, if you wish it. - Scroll through the different sectors with the button at the top left. - Scroll through the different points to be recorded with the button at the bottom left. Once the good sector and the good location selected (departure, arrival, speed, partial, etc....), you have two possibilities to record the GPS positions, ex: 1) Save the GPS positions on the spot by pressing 1 second on 'OK', the ADSGPS will capture the GPS positions and store them. 2) Save the GPS positions manually, for that, press the 'OK' button for 3 seconds. Almost all organizers of Rallye realize the log book by indicating the GPS positions for the departures and arrivals of transfers and specials. In this case, it is possible to insert the GPS positions manually. Tip: Use "Google Earth" to find missing GPS coordinates for speed and partial points. Note: A special behaves like an open track + the transfer zone that follows. Special times are stored in the ADSGPS, the transfer parameters are displayed for information only. 20

Example of displaying a special race. Example of transfer display. At the top, we can see the distance remaining before the arrival of the sector. In the middle, the time remaining, at the bottom, the average speed at which the pilot must roll to arrive without penalty. The direction of the arrows indicates to the pilot if it is in advance (arrow directed to the left) or late (arrow directed to the right). The number of arrows indicating to the pilot if the advance or the delay is important is greater or smaller. Important : - To have an optimal time calculation, you must save your point (Start, partial, speed) in a straight line. The orientation of the GPS will then be the best for GPS reception, unlike turns where the bike is lying, is the lower GPS reception. - For closed tracks, the direction is recorded when creating the track. Thus, if you pass the Start line in the opposite direction, the ADSGPS will not trigger the recording of the session. b) Creating a track with TrakManager software This software has been designed to manage your tracks: - Import tracks from an ADSGPS to a PC - Import tracks from the PC to an ADSGPS - Import tracks from the site ALFANO.COM - Create a file of the type "kml" to export the track on Google Earth - Export files "tracks" via internet, etc Create and edit Rally Tracks Procedure: c) Import tracks from another ALFANO, via Bluetooth «ALFANO-1133» «ALFANO-2055» send the track receives the track

Press "OK" on "Send" in the track menu. ALFANO is looking for a device. Press "OK" on "Receive" in the track menu. Press "OK" to accept the connection. 5 6 Choose the track from those stored in its memory and confirm with "OK". 7 Appears the name of the track to receive, press "OK" to accept the track. To note : tracks transferred between systems via Bluetooth identify themselves with a small icon Successful transfer. Note: The ID (identification) of the tracks. For each track created with the ADSGPS or with the software "TrackManager" the track will be accompanied by its ID, this identification will be composed of 8 alphanumeric (example: 58F4-45K6), this will be unique, if several ADSGPS use the same ID track, they will have the advantage of making precise comparisons that is to say: the partial times, the points of speed, the lap times will be captured with the same GPS coordinates. 22

Note: as soon as a Rally track is modified on the ADSGPS or with the "TrackManager" software, another ID is automatically assigned to it. Only rally tracks can be modified. For other types of track, once created, only the names can be changed (their structure and ID does not change). Another annotation: With the software "TrackManager" it is possible to lock a Rally track to no longer be able to modify it. A small closed lock will appear to the right of the name of the Rally. Start a timing session and use the Alfano in the race The ALFANO must be in "HOME" with the appropriate track. As soon as the starting zone is detected and if the speed is above 20km / h, the ALFANO starts the timing and records the data of these sensors for the closed tracks. For other types of tracks, stop in the departure zone, confirm the start, the recording will start as soon as the speed exceeds 10km / h. With the button above right, change the "Layout" window. 23

With the top left button, turn on or off the backlight. If the speed is zero, STOP is displayed, press one of the two bottom buttons to stop the timing and return to "Home". If the speed is zero for 10 minutes, the ADSGPS automatically stops the session. - For open tracks and slalom, position yourself at the starting line and stop. - Then press the button at the top right corresponding to 'OK' to activate the start. - For the rally, position yourself at the starting line and stop. The system automatically locates the start zone and indicates the membership of this zone. You can see the type and the number of the sector. The Rally may have several identical sectors. For this, the system will display, according to the course of the Rally, the right sector. But if it is not the case, you have the possibility to choose the correct sector, for that, maneuver the buttons of left. - Then press the button at the top right corresponding to 'OK' to activate the start. 24

The departure is then activated. The recording will start as soon as a speed greater than 5 km / h is detected. Speed detected, recording starts. You are then in the race. - A short press on the button at the bottom right makes it possible to change the type of display. - Pressing the button on the bottom left for one second stops the recording. a. «STOP» Fin de course - For open tracks, slalom and Rally, the ADSGPS stops the recording as soon as it crosses the finish line. This window will be displayed for 5 seconds. - Then, the completed time of the race will appear for 30 seconds to finally return to the home menu. - A brief press on one of the 4 buttons makes it possible to return more quickly to the home menu before the end of the 30 seconds. 25

- For closed tracks, the ADSGPS will show your best lap time and best lap time for 5 seconds, then return to the home menu. Important note : - When the memory gauge in the main menu is full, the memory is almost full, one is automatically in endurance mode, one then records only the lap times, partial times with minimum and maximum, but not the samples. - When the memory gauge in the main menu is filled and flashing, the memory is full, so you cannot start a new session until the data has been erased. GPS reception When switching on your ADSGPS, it will wait for the GPS signal. The wait time at the reception depends on several parameters: - The environment in which the ADSGPS is located (building, forest, etc....) - The Cold Start or Warm Start: The ADSGPS captures the signal more quickly when it is used regularly, in fact, the longer the GPS stays off, the longer the waiting time before capturing the signal will be long at the next start, this is due to the GPS download (ephemeris, etc.) when it is off for several days. This waiting time can therefore vary from a few seconds to several minutes. Information regarding the quality of GPS reception: - It depends on the environment (building, forest, mounting) - The weather does not influence the satellite reception (overcast or clear sky). - Positioning of the ADSGPS (the antenna must be at the maximum towards the sky) - Antenna clearance (avoid metal boxes, brake cable / acceleration) just in front of the antenna). The GPS captures its real position from 3 satellites.. The higher the number of satellites captured, the better the accuracy of the position, and therefore the more precise timing times. We recommend timing from at least 8 satellites, otherwise the accuracy of the times cannot be guaranteed. As indicated in the Setup menu, the satellite gives us the GMT time and date, so set the time zone according to the position where the ADSGPS is in the Setup / Time and Date Setup menu. 41
