2 Connect device Turn off the computer and connect your 3Dconnexion navigation device to an available USB port on your computer. PAGE 2

3 Positioning the Navigation Device Placement of the navigation device is typically on the opposite side of the keyboard to where your mouse is placed. Install Software 3DxSoftware is a comprehensive package of software including drivers, tools and demos all designed to get you configured and using your navigation device quickly in your favorite applications. Insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive. Setup will start automatically, first asking you to choose a language. If you downloaded 3DxSoftware from our website, simply double click on the setup to begin the installation process. PAGE 3

4 3DxSoftware Installation Options 3DxSoftware first checks to see if you are installing the latest software package available. If 3Dconnexion is offering a later version from the website, you are given the option of downloading the latest or continuing with the current install. We always recommend downloading the latest version from our website. During the 3DxSoftware installation, you will be given a few options to choose the most optimal settings are pre-selected for you. Pre-selected options include the installation of 3Dconnexion Picture Viewer an application which lets you navigate your pictures with precision and fun. You can also associate your picture files at installation time. PAGE 4

5 Configuration Wizard The Configuration Wizard, an interactive tool which runs during installation, provides some quick tips and tricks for navigation as well as our control panel features. By the time you finish installing your software, you will be more than ready to start your navigation experience. After you finish installing 3DxSoftware, you can visit the Configuration Wizard again from the 3Dconnexion Control Panel. PAGE 5

6 Speed and Calibrate Overall Speed You can increase the overall speed of your navigation by visiting the 3Dconnexion Control Panel, which is available from your system tray icon, desktop, start menu or Windows Control Panel. Additionally, some applications offer speed selections within the application interface for your device, and some devices offer function buttons which increase and decrease speed. Please visit our website at for more information about your device. Calibrate Selecting the Calibrate button is recommended if you carry the device around with you from place to place. If undo pressure is applied to the controller cap, an adjustment may need to be made to calibrate the device. Simply open the 3Dconnexion Control Panel and select this button. PAGE 6
