Page 4 of 19 New Features 1. Active/Add The Active feature allows you to select spots whose values match Libraries and spots, channels, and scrollers whose values match Palettes. The values referenced are output values from a selection, playback source and editor, or tracking. If there is no selection the output from playback sources (controllers, crossfaders, and editor) is referenced. If there is no selection and no output from playback sources and editor, tracking is referenced. The selection is according to active and tracking values, therefore if a Library or a Palette is not assigned but the output values match the Library or Palette values, the spot/channel is selected. Example: Spots 1 12 are output on the A/B crossfader. Spots 1 6 are assigned in Color Library 26. Select only the spots in that range that are assigned Color Library Press [ACTIVE] 2. Press [COLOR] Skip this step if Color is the NSK mode. 3. Press NSK 26 Spots 1 6 are selected. Example: Spots 1 24 are output on A/B. 10 Page 10 of Fan The Fan feature applies Spread values to spot parameters and channels according to the selection order. The wheel is used to assign the Spread. The first spot/channel of the selection is the base reference point for the Fan and as such stays where it is set. The Fan is applied to the rest of the selection. Example: Select channels 1, 5, and 3 and set the Base to 10. Now wheel the Spread to 45%; channel 1 is at 10%, channel 5 at 55%, channel 3 at 100%. You can fan one only parameter at a time. When [FAN] is active (LED on) the parameter wheel assigns Fan Spread values. Selecting another parameter turns off the Fan feature. You must press [FAN] again to reactivate. The exception to this rule is the trackball. You can select pan (x), for example, assigning the Fan with the X wheel. If you then use the trackball the Fan is applied to tilt (y) also. Note Fan can be applied to all parameters. Fan is useful for position, iris, dimmer, and color mixing. Examples: Colors Iris Position Apply the fan to cyan. The result is light cyan to dark cyan according to the cyan value of the first spot in the selection and the selection order. You can add to this a Fan applied to yellow and get graduated shades of green. This can be stored as a memory, Palette, and Color Library. Applying the Fan to the Iris when the starting value of the first spot in the selection is a small Iris gives you beams that ascend in size. You can create diagonals very quickly using Fan with the trackball. Fan is interactive with the Effects Editor. You can use the Fan within the Effects Editor to change the Base values, thus retaining the fan formation. 1. Select a range of spots/channels 2. If you selected spots, select a parameter and set the starting values. Working with channels, set the start value. 3. Press [FAN] 4. Move the parameter wheel to Fan the selection. The value of the first spot in the selection remains the same. The Fan starts at the first spot/channel in the selection and Fans according to the selection order. Example: If the selection is spots 13 26, the Fan begins at spot 13. To create a Fan from the center split the selection in two. Important! It is recommended to home the spots before applying the Fan.

Page 11 of 19 Example: Fan the pan for spots 1-12 starting at the center. 1. Select spots Press [X] 3. Press [FAN] 4. Move the X wheel to Fan the selection. 5. Select spots Press [X] 7. Move the X wheel to Fan the selection. Spot 1 is the base reference point for spots 1 6. Press [STORE] If you selected F2 Confirm for each Library Type Update you may need to continue pressing [STORE] until the sequence is complete Temporary Library modes The functionality of Temporary NSK Library modes has been improved. When you press [POSITION] or [COLOR] or [GOBO] the Library category appears in the command line beginning a Library sequence. A second press on [POSITION] or [COLOR] or [GOBO] clears in the command line Library Test menu The Library Test menu is menu 27. The Library Test menu compares the values contained in libraries with the actual values in memories with library assignments. If any inconsistencies are detected a report is generated. The report shows the number of errors found, the number of errors fixed, and the number of memories that contained errors. 1. Go to the Library Test menu. 2. Press F1 Start Test or F2 Test & Fix 11. MIDI 11.1 MIDI via Ethernet Starting from this version, MIDI commands can also be sent via Ethernet. In the System Parameters menu (menu 8) there is a new toggle MIDI on Ethernet. Enable or disable according to your needs. The MIDI via Ethernet connection between Compulite consoles connected in the same network does not require special MIDI cabling. MIDI settings have not changed MIDI Show Control now supports MIDI Show Control Enable/Disable MSC To use MSC, MIDI must be enabled in Service Tools/Sys Config/Special Functions. MIDI Show Control is enabled and disabled in the MIDI menu. Press F1 MSC On to enable. Press F2 MSC Off to disable.

Page 13 of MSC ID Numbers in System Parameters menu MSC commands can be sent to a single console or a group of consoles. ID numbers assigned in the System Parameters menu determines command destination. New toggles have been added the System Parameters menu: MSC Device ID Units assigned a Device ID only receive MSC commands explicitly addressed to that unit. Device ID numbers are MSC Group ID MSC Peer ID Units assigned a Group ID receive MSC commands addressed to a group of units. Units may be assigned both Device and Group ID numbers. Group ID numbers are The Peer ID number provides the address for outgoing commands. Peer ID numbers are MSC commands are sent from the console to the Peer address. MSC commands must be actually done on the board. Example: To send a Go command to A/B, the A/B [GO] key must be pressed and a crossfade executed. Note MSC provides 15 Group addresses. MSC Group Compulite Group ID MSC Group Compulite Group ID The diagram below shows an optional MSC ID numbers set up. MSC commands can be sent to each device separately. Devices 3, 4, 5, and 6 receive an MSC command sent to Group 112. Devices 1 and 2 receive an MSC command sent to Group 113. MSC commands can be sent to Peer. The Peer ID is set in the console that sends the MSC command: Device 1 to Device 2. Device 3 to Device 4. Device 5 to Device 6. Group 112 Device 5 Peer 6 Device 6 Device 3 Peer 4 Device 4 Group 113 Device 1 Peer 2 Device 2

Page 14 of MSC commands Compulite consoles recognize five basic MIDI Show Control commands: Go: 1. If no Cue List is designated in the MSC command, the memory assigned to the crossfader is selected from default Q-List. 2. If a Cue List is specified the memory assigned to the crossfader is selected from the designated Q-List. 3. Cue Path 1 transmits a Go command to the A/B crossfader. 4. Cue Path 2 transmits a Go command to the C/D crossfader. 5. If no Cue Path is specified the Go command applies to the A/B crossfader. Timed Go Stop Resume Fire Note A multi-fade is forced when a Go command is sent to a crossfader with a crossfade in progress. This command is identical to the Go command with the addition of a fade time applied to the incoming memory. If no memory number is specified, the command behaves like the Go command. Puts the crossfader on Hold. If no crossfader is specified the Stop command is applied to both crossfaders. Restarts a crossfade on Hold. If no crossfader is specified the Resume command is applied to both crossfaders. Operate Macros The Macro always fires ignoring the current system state (for instance, if the system is in Menu mode the Macro still fires.) MSC displays MSC has been added to the MIDI flag. When MIDI Show Control is enabled the MSC flag appears in red. When disabled the MSC flag appears in gray. A pop up message is displayed when an MSC command is received and executed. 12. Scrollers Scroller frame assignments in memories are updated when there are changes in the Frame Setup in the Scroller menu. A Default Space option (F3) has been added to the Scroller menu to reset the frame values to their default value. Changing the number of frames in the Scroller menu also updates memories. Frames outside of the new range are updated to the last valid frame. Example: the number of frames in scroller 1 was changed from 32 to 28. Frame 32 appears in some memories. The frame values are reassigned as frame 28. If you have changed the number of frames, check the memories that are affected by the change.

Page 15 of 19 Bugs Fixed 1. BackUp 1.1 When exiting to Service Tools via menu 8, the BackUp displayed the Main console's keyboard version. Now the display is correct - No Keyboard version is displayed. 2. Big Spots 2.1 Replacing spots not in the Big Spot range with Martin PAL A and Martin PAL B the message Cannot Link Device is displayed. In this case you must reassign the Big Spots to the correct range. 2.2 When Big spots were selected the A parameters were displayed on the wheels and stage display even when the spots were paged to B. This does not happen anymore. 2.3 A Big Spot parameter that was selected and then cleared by pressing [RESET] was reselected when the spot was selected and assigned a dimmer value. This does not happen anymore. 2.4 When there were Big spots in the Device List and you loaded a show with no Big Spots in the Device List, the spots that replaced the Big spots were erroneously treated as Big Spots. This does not happen anymore. 2.5 Big Spots interfered with Part assignments. This is now fixed. 2.6 Problems with the 2 nd parameter page were fixed. 2.7 Releasing a Big Spot from a memory released the active page only and not both parameter pages. This is now fixed. 3. Blind 3.1 The sequence [CHANNEL #] [ ] did not work in the Blind editor. Now it does. Thank you Eldad at TAPAC, Israel. 3.2 It was impossible to program Palettes in the Blind editor. This is now fixed. Thank you Stephen Plotkin, Canada. 4. Call 4.1 After the sequence [CALL #] the number was entered as a channel or spot (depending on the Number Default selection) instead of the correct Memory #. This is now fixed. 5. Channel Patch 5.1 Returning to the Channel Patch menu after exiting in the middle of an Assign Dimmer sequence changed the prompt to Assign C/D. This does not happen anymore. 6. Compatibility 6.1 SMPTE times were assigned to some memories in when shows recorded on Animator were loaded on. This is now fixed. 7. Controllers 7.1 Pressing [ASSIGN] [ ] after homing spots assigned the editor group to A/B. Now you can continue with the assignment after the mistaken press on [ ]. 7.2 Cyberlight and Intellabeam special mode parameters were forced to zr when assigned to controllers. This does not happen anymore. 7.3 When the LCD showed the text of the first memory in the chaser, the text disappeared when the chaser was stopped. Now the text is still displayed. 7.4 Pressing [DIM] or [XF] cleared temporary NSK modes. This does not happen anymore. 8. Crossfaders 8.1 In certain circumstances, exiting the Spot Patch menu and then assigning a memory to A/B using [GO TO] jammed the system. This does not happen anymore. 8.2 Freeing assignments from the A/B crossfader when it was on Hold did not extinguish the [HOLD] key LED. This does not happen anymore. 8.3 Jump on Fade did not work for spots' dimmers. This is now fixed.

Page 16 of Changing memory time using the sequence [MEMORY] [A] [TIME #] [STORE] did not reactive the [SEQ] LED. Now it does. 8.5 Holding C/D did not initiate a fade to A/B. This is now fixed. 9. Delta 9.1 When some parameter were excluded from Position Libraries, it was impossible to make a Delta with Libraries; only the values were stored in the Delta. This is now fixed. Thank you Michael Bliss, USA. 9.2 Modifying a memory by changing the values for spot parameters that had a Library assignment created an incorrect Delta that could potentially cause Library inconsistencies. This does not happen anymore. 10. Device Files (attention Beta testers) 10.1 It was impossible to add mixed or discrete steps to a device that was loaded as a Device file. This is now fixed Sometimes when a device was recorded the number of steps in mixed and discrete step parameters was changed. This does not happen anymore. Thank you Stephen Plotkin, Canada Some bugs that occurred when loading devices have been fixed. 11. Display 11.1 The text for memories with Event assignments was not always displayed in the XFade Exam. This is now fixed Effect remained on the command line after exiting the Effects Editor. This does not happen anymore Some display problems that occurred after using Exam on monitor 2 were fixed When using Macros to select spots the LCD parameter display did not update for a new selection. This does not happen anymore The command line showed Mask after [DISPLAY] was pressed. This is now fixed. Thank you Gino at Spotlight, Italy. 12. DMX Input 12.1 Loading a show file recorded on Animator that was configured for more channels (and no scrollers in the configuration) than DMX input, all channels that did not fit the parameters of the DMX input were assigned a random DMX input. This does not happen anymore. 13. Delta 13.1 Libraries in Delta did not update when Libraries were modified. This is now fixed Creating a Delta for Libraries through Store Store did not work when the values in the Library were the same as the values in the Libraries originally assigned in the memory under modification. This is now fixed. Thank you Jasper at BEO, Holland. 14. Editing 14.1 Sometimes spots, spot parameters, and channels bumped out on release. Now they always fade out after being released Selecting a spot, selecting a Library on the NSKs and moving a wheel generated the message Illegal Number. This is now fixed In certain circumstances [SPOT] [ ] did not select the last selection. This does not happen anymore. 15. Effects 15.1 After releasing the Effect assignment from spot parameters the spots stayed selected in the editor but were cleared from the command line. Now the command line is not cleared and you can continue working with the selected spot The Sync option is now blocked for channels When entering 2 digits on the keypad to assign Base value the system accepted the second digit as a spot or channel selection. This does not happen anymore. Note: If the system is USA No, enter # #.

Page 17 of The Effects Editor did not open the second parameter page for Big spots. Now it does It was impossible to store memories using [+STORE] while in the Effects Editor. This is now allowed Problems editing Effects in the Blind editor have been fixed Using the Size wheel to change the spread did not work. This is now fixed The rate for Effect assigned to controllers in soft or hard modes was assigned Cut time and it was impossible to change the rate. This does not happen anymore. Important! If you are using a show recorded on SBRD04* record the show first on SBRD05*, otherwise this bug will occur After assigning a Primitive and a Base value to X, reselecting the spot using [SPOT] [ ] and selecting a new parameter bumped the x value to 0. This does not happen anymore. 16. Ethernet 16.1 When the console and CompuLINK were assigned ID 000 no VCs higher than VC 4 were broadcast. This is now fixed. Note: Software from UNA03R03 or higher is needed for this fix! 16.2 When a CompuLINK that was already logged on was turned off and then on again, any subsequent log on of that CompuLINK was not displayed. This does not happen anymore. Note: Software from UNA03R05 is needed for this fix! 16.3 Some of the display colors on CompuLINK were not the same as those on the console. Now the colors are identical. Note: Software from UNA03R05 is needed for this fix! 16.4 Pushing new software over the network caused CompuLINK units to disconnect when the network consisted of more than 2 CompuLINK and VideoLINK units. This is now fixed. Note: Software from UNA03R05 is needed for this fix! 16.5 There were a number of problems on the Macro Extension Keyboard when connected to CompuLINK. These are now fixed. Note: Software from UNA03R05 is needed for this fix! 16.6 There were textual errors in CompuLINK shortcuts. These are now corrected. Note: Software from UNA03R05 is needed for this fix! 16.7 CompuLINK units did not disconnect when going to Service Tools via the backdoor in the System Parameters menu. This is now fixed. 17. Event 17.1 Sometimes the Event was not displayed in the Memory List. This does not happen anymore Assigning a spot to the Joystick and then assigning a spot to Submaster 1 resulted in an incorrect assignment to the Joystick. This does not happen anymore An Event occupying more than 7 lines in the X-Fade display corrupted the display. This is now fixed In the Event menu, entering an Event number, pressing F5 MACRO and then F6 MACRO # reset the Event number to the last Event stored. This is now fixed. Thank you Alon at Danor, Israel The option Sleep found in the controller tress is now called Release. 18. Filter 18.1 Operating a Snap that contained Filters changed the Filter texts. This does not happen anymore. 19. Flip 19.1 Flip was not working correctly when the Spot Patch was type 5, 6, 7, or 8. This is now fixed. 20. Groups 20.1 Selecting a Group number on the keypad and then pressing [CL1] or [CL2] did not work. Now it does. 21. Intellebeam and Cyberlight 21.1 When releasing a spot from a memory not all of the parameters with parameter modes were released.

Page 18 of Libraries 22.1 When p1 was excluded from Position Libraries after libraries had already been programmed, the sequence [POSITION 1] [SPOT #] [iris wheel] forced p1 to zero. This does not happen anymore The following scenario overwrote Libraries: [SPOT #] [TB] [ENTER] [STORE] [F2] [STORE]. Select the same spot and move the trackball and press [STORE]. The message Pos # Stored was displayed and the last modified Position Library was overwritten. This is now fixed. Thank you Paul Turner, USA. 23. Loops 23.1 Continuous manual loops ran like infinite loops when assigned as soft chasers. Also Q-Lists assigned in soft mode ran as infinite loops. This is now fixed. Thank you Richie at CDA, Australia. 24. Menus 24.1 It was impossible to open the Record, Load, or Delete menu directly following Effect Exam. This is now fixed. 25. MIDI 25.1 When the system was configured for split crossfaders the MIDI notes for B and D were not recognized. This is now fixed. 26. Mix Output menu 26.1 New names added to the Device Pool name list were not recognized. This does not happen anymore Clearing the DMX offset from X and X1 changed the value of some mixed and discrete step parameters to 35 steps. This does not happen anymore. 27. Network Settings menu 27.1 Loading a show changed the System ID. Now the system ID does not change after load. If you want to change it you must do so manually Slots 5 and 6 were not available. Now they are. 28. Output 28.1 When the same spots were assigned to A and to a controller in Dim mode, taking the controller to 0 faded the spots to 0 and then they jumped to the level on A/B. This does not happen anymore. 29. Palettes 29.1 The sequence [SPOT #] [select parameter] [PALETTE #] [STORE] did not work. Now it does When Mix Editing was toggled to Yes, Palettes did not work for spots with the same ID number. This is now fixed Examining Palettes in the Load menu corrupted the display on monitor 1. This does not happen anymore. 30. Panel 30.1 When loading a new show, containing Macros, over a show in the console, the Macro LEDs did not refresh. This also happened on the Macro Extension Keyboard. This does not happen anymore The LED for [STAGE] was always on. Now it is on when the Stage display is on view and off when the XFade display is on view. Thank you Fred Lindauer, USA. 31. Remote Control 31.1 The LED A/B display did not display the correct information when the assignment was made using a Macro operated using the Remote Control. This is now fixed. Thank you Fred Lindauer, USA.

Page 19 of Service Tools 32.1 The Filer was present even when there was no hard disk in the console. Now if there is no hard disk the Filer option is not displayed. 33. SMPTE 33.1 SMPTE did not work if it was reactivated after resetting the internal clock. This is now fixed Thank you Gil Teichman, Israel. 34. Spot Patch 34.1 When the spot selection was done using a Macro, entering the Spot patch menu changed the spot selection. This does not happen anymore. 35. Submasters 35.1 When memories with spots were assigned to Submasters 1 or 2 the Submasters did not control all the spots. This is now fixed. 36. Text 36.1 The text window was corrupted after Warm Start. This is now fixed Sometimes the sequence [MEMORY #] [TEXT] [ENTER] opened the Store Store window. This does not happen anymore The NSK Alpha mode did not work in some of the menus. Now it does Entering text for a show file using the NSKs in Alpha mode in the Record menu, F1 Store in the menu did not work. This is now fixed The Enter key on the keyboard did not work in the Record menu. Now it does, even when the keyboard is locked. Thank you Stephen Plotkin, Canada The F keys on the alphanumeric keyboard did not work in the Macro menu. Now they do, even when the keyboard is locked. Thank you Stephen Plotkin, Canada. 37. Wheels 37.1 Turning a parameter wheel really fast caused problems. This does not happen anymore. Known Bugs 1. Mix Device Only does not load from shows recorded on Animator. The message Corrupted Play is generated. Work around: Load the whole show. 2. Memories with Effects and cut time running on a controller slow the Effects Editor. Work around: assign a fade time higher than cut. 3. When the NSK Snap mode is forcing it is impossible to store a new Snap. 4. SMPTE assignments cannot be erased for a range of Events. 5. An absolute SMPTE time assignment cannot be assigned to a range of Events. 6. Effect run rate that has been modified with the Chase Rate function is not saved with the show. 7. The sequence [CHANNEL] [# #] [PALETTE] [#] [#] changes the intensity of the selected channels instead of selecting the channel, spot, or memory (according to the Default number selection).
