4 2 DISTRIBUTION The Direct Debit module is distributed in a standard Dynamics AX deployment package. The Direct Debit package model is cumulative, meaning that it is sufficient to install a single package in order to install the complete version of the latest Direct Debit module. 5 3 INSTALLATION 3.1 PREREQUISITES Before you start the installation, you should ensure that you have the following: The latest Direct Debit deployment package The necessary security access rights to the AX7 server, the database as well as the SQL Reporting Server (admin rights are needed). 3.2 INSTALLING THE DEPLOYMENT PACKAGE By distributing the Direct Debit module in a deployment package, we ensure that the Direct Debit module can be installed using the procedures described by Microsoft. Below we briefly describe the different steps in the installation process. For a detailed description on how to install an AX7 deployment package, please visit: The module will install in the ISV layer PREPARATION Download and extract the deployment package on the AX server. Modify Edit the deployment package s DefaultTopologyData.xml file, so it reflects the current AX environment. Installation 5

6 Open command prompt as administrator and use the shell to generate a runbook, using the AXUpdateInstaller.exe generate command, like in the picture below Executing the generate command, should result in the creation of a runbook file Installation 6

7 3.2.2 INSTALLATION Open command prompt as administrator and use the shell to import the runbook, using the AXUpdateInstaller.exe import command, like in the picture below Open command prompt as administrator and use the shell to execute the imported runbook, using the AXUpdateInstaller.exe execute command, like in the picture below Installation 7

8 Executing the execute command will run through the runbook step-by-step, completing a number of required steps, e.g. including installation of the Direct Debit module, synchronization of the database and restart of the AOS service. Once finished, an AmcDirectDebitFoundation folder is added to AOS server s package directory and a Direct Debit tile should appear in the AX dashboard Installation 8

9 To ensure that the Direct Debit version corresponds with the version of the deployment package, open AMC Direct Debit > Setup > Parameters and select the About tab. Installation 9

10 4 SETUP 4.1 SECURITY RIGHTS To access the module, you now have to give the relevant user groups/roles access to AMC Direct Debit. AMC Direct Debit is distributed with an independent role, which can be added to designated Direct Debit users. This role will give access to the complete module and all its facilities. You can also choose to allow only partial rights to a user / role. AMC Direct Debit is divided into a number of duties, which in turn contains a number of privileges. These duties can be added to existing roles in AX. Since AMC Direct Debit is related to several standard AX tables, it is also necessary to assign the current users a number of additional rights / roles if they are not already assigned to them. These rights can be assigned in several ways, but a proposal for an appropriate setup can be to assign the current users the following additional roles: System user Accountant Accounts receivable clerk Accounts payable clerk In addition, the user must be assigned rights to print reports via the Reporting Server. 4.2 LICENSE In order to use AMC Direct Debit, a valid license has to be present. If an existing license is not present, a new license has to be registered REGISTRATION To register a new license open AMC Direct Debit > Setup > Parameters. In the parameter setup select the Web service tab and click the Edit license button in the license section. Setup 10

11 Clicking the button, will open the license registration landing page, from which the Direct Debit module can be registered. Once the license has been registered, enter the username and password that corresponds with the registered license and change the URL if using a dedicated conversion web service. Setup 11

12 4.2.2 TEST CONNECTION The Test connection button in the License section can be used to test the connectivity against the bank data conversion service and the license server. The Test connection only tests the connectivity, and if it was successful able to reach the endpoints of the bank data conversion service and the license server, the system should return a message similar to the one below If Test connection returns an error, it indicates, that a connection could not be established. In that case, please ensure that firewalls etc. allows outbound access to the license server as well as the bank data conversion service. 13 4.2.3 VERIFY LICENSE To test the validity of the license login and password, click the button Check license from the License section. If the entered login and password matches the license, the system should return a message, saying that the license was successfully verified. Setup 13
