2 Registration on OSS (Online Service System) An OSS account registration is required before you will be allowed any access to BMW MINI programming. To register for an account visit: Autologic Diagnostics Limited 2

3 Registration on OSS (Online Service System) 1. To start the registration process select Registration (1) on the home page 1 2. Complete the required information 3. Read and then accept the Terms and Conditions (2) 4. Select Send (3) Autologic Diagnostics Limited 3

4 Registration on OSS (Online Service System) 4. You will receive an with your customer number (1) and activation link (2) Click on the Activation link. Log in via the Activation link is required for the first time to activate the account. Afterwards you can log in via OSS website. 6. On account activation, you will be directed to the Company account page where credit card details are set up and credit is purchased. 7. 5 The ISTA/P programming system application stands for Integrated Service Technical Application/Programming. ISTA/P is used to process all coding, programing and to enable dependent control modules in BMW Group vehicles. Hardware technical requirements: At least 4 GB of main memory CPU better than Pentium IV with a minimum clock frequency of 2 GHz At least 160 GB of free hard drive space At least a 15" monitor, 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, 256 colours Network connection to connect to the internet Pass-Thru Device (PTD), which must be SAE-J2534-compatible (e.g. manufacturers: Drew Technologies). You will need the proprietary PTD driver from the manufacturer, installed according to the OSS user guide. Microsoft Windows 7 Professional/Enterprise (32-bit) with service pack 1 or Microsoft Windows 7 Professional/Enterprise (64-bit) with service pack 1 or Microsoft Windows 8.1 Professional/Enterprise (64-bit) Before purchasing a PTD we recommend checking with Assist Pass-Thru Support as there are some PTDs that are not compatible with Windows 7 Professional Autologic Diagnostics Limited 5

6 1. To install ISTA/P, log in in the normal manner. 2. Select programming (1) 1 3. Download and install the highlighted files: OMS installation file MINI PTD driver 2016 Autologic Diagnostics Limited 6

9 5. The latest Java version is required to complete installation 6. If prompted that java is out of date, update will be required 7. Once the installer is completed, press Finish 2016 Autologic Diagnostics Limited 9

13 Launching ISTA/P Online 8. ISTA/P Online can now be started once the necessary software has been successfully installed. 9. To do so, proceed as follows: a) Start the BMW MINI Online Service System portal (OSS portal) b) Log in with your user name and password c) Select Purchase Ticket (1) d) Select desired access period i.e. Hours, Days, Weeks, Months, Year (2) e) Select Load time account (3) f) Select Programming (4) Autologic Diagnostics Limited 13

14 Launching ISTA/P Online g) The status box will change to green h) Select Start. i) This will launch the ISTA/P program j) During starting, several ISTA/P Online programs are blocked by the Windows firewall security. k) To run ISTA/P Online, select Allow Access for all of the programs. Note: These programs are required during vehicle programming. They communicate during vehicle programming via local network ports. If you change these, the Windows security warnings are repeated.
