2 1. Important note The "Matrix42 Enterprise Manager for SCCM (EM)" contains also all public released hotfixes that are available for previous versions. Please note that installing this update will request a reboot of the system. Enterprise Manager for SCCM 6.1 Setup can be used: to perform a new installation. to perform an update based on the version Enterprise Manager 6.0. An update from older versions is not possible and will not be supported by Matrix Installation instructions You must be familiar with the content of the following documents before you start the installation or update process: System Requirements If anything is unclear or you have any questions, please contact Matrix42 before you perform the installation or update. All EM components should be updated. It is not supported to mix different versions in one environment.

3 2.1. Preliminary actions before installation Important note: When you are downloading a Matrix42 hotfix or patch, the downloaded file may have a "Zone.Identifier" information attached (depending on your browsers security configuration). Please remove this "Zone.Identifier", otherwise some problems with these files can occur (files are not loading correctly): 1. Right-click the blocked file, and then click Properties. 2. In the General tab, click Unblock. To avoid the "Zone.Identifier" in future please add the address " as a "trusted zone" in the Internet Explorer New installation EM Server Run EM Server Setup and follow the steps EM Agent Run EM Agent Setup and follow the steps, or use alternative/automated installation methods Distribution Point Run EM Distribution Point Setup on every SCCM Distribution Point Server and follow the steps, or use alternative/automated installation methods. Important note: Please run the Distribution Point Setup as Administrator. Right click on the Setup and choose option "Run as administrator" 2.3. Update from version 6.0 The following steps has to be performed to do an update of Enterprise Manager for SCCM Version 6.0.

4 EM Server Create full backup of your EM database. Create full image, or at least an image of the EM Server file system. Run Server Setup and follow the instructions The main setup launches a migration wizard that converts all objects in the database to the new version. In the event of any errors a new View Log button is displayed. Click this button to open a file containing detailed information in front of other windows. In the case of errors, this file must be saved and kept for analysis purposes. Once the migration wizard has completed successfully, further steps are performed by the setup function. Setup is now complete and the EM master server has been successfully updated. We recommend updating the Distribution Points used by Enterprise Manager next Distribution Point Run EM Distribution Point Setup and follow the steps, or use alternative/automated methods for updating the EM-DP service. Please run the Distribution Point Setup as Administrator. Right click on the Setup and choose option "Run as administrator" Client EM Agent Run EM Agent Setup on the client computers and follow the steps or use alternative/automated methods for updating the EM Agent. For example, by SCCM rollout, GPO, login script, psexec, etc Update from version x If you are an early adaptor and you are working on a Preview Build of Enterprise Manager for SCCM please contact Matrix42. It is not supported to update EM to Version 6 if the SCCM Version in Background was changed from Version 2007 to Version 2012 or higher.

5 3. New functions and modifications in Version SCCM Application Support Microsoft has been supporting a new method of designing software packages since SCCM2012. It enables these packages to use different package sources/ package configurations (Deployment Types) and provides more options to configure the behaviour of the installation. In Enterprise Manager for SCCM 2014 it was possible to rollout SCCM Applications with the SCCM Agent, controlled by the EM Web-Console. In Enterprise Manager for SCCM 6.0 it is now possible to rollout SCCM Application with the Enterprise Manager Agent. SCCM Applications will be imported into the EM Database. If there are already existing imports from EM 2014 they will be deleted and reimported. Every Application which includes Deployment-Types other than "MSI" and "Script Installer" will be ignored by the EM Data Import. Detection Methods The following detection methods are fully supported: Registry File-System MSI The EM Agent will use the Detection Methods to check if an Installation already exists. The will do the following checks: Before starting the installation of a deployment Type. The installation will be skipped (as success installation) if detection method result is "true". After installation of a deployment type to check if the deployment type is successful installed. The will resolve all Application dependencies and install them. The installation of dependencies is logged in a new monitoring control SCCM Content Library Support In EM 2014 the Distribution Point copies all installation data into a cache directory before the client can download these files. With EM 6.0 the Agent will directly access the Content Library of SCCM to download packages into the local cache directory.

6 3.3. Tree-Navigation In EM 2014 the navigation in all hirarchical elements was flat, just one Level was visible at a time. With EM 6 you get Treeview Navigation Controls for every hirarchical view New Monitoring The Monitoring for Package Rollouts and OSD is completely redesigned to get a better overview over your status and show the installation on dependant applcation in relationship to the calling application & DP are based on.net Framework 4 Every.NET components is updated from.net Framework 3.5 to.net Framework Optimized Login & Accounts Import and IP-Address Reporting The Account and Login Import is optimized now and will run much faster than before.

7 4. New functions and modifications in Version 6.1 With version 6.1 we improved the performance for modifying collections contents. In previous version, all members of a collection where updates, when have you added or remove a client from a collection. With version 6.1 EM will just update the delta (the affected clients). Description The status time is displayed incorrectly at collections Can't switch to next page of Push rollouts because it over jump more pages At Packages -> SCCM application the status of SCCM orders is not displayed correctly Documentation file upload is not possible If User has Read Only rights the Context menu in the Computer group management is wrong After Permission Wizard are users displayed even if Teams should displayed OSD task shows incorrect information (purpose) In "My Deputies" deleted accounts will not be removed Reports and target-actual comparison runs on error if Site Code has leading numbers The use of filter settings in computer groups fails if Site Code has leading numbers On EM Agent Settings are the values for Postpone options disabled. Please save and reopen the dialog for editing In Pre download package ID is not displayed and the log is overwritten Agent Profiles -> SCCM Agent Configuration: values are Disabled for editing. Please save and reopen the dialog for editing Administration -> Date -> Import -> Status: The changelog may display wrong numbers Status time for packets on the DP is displayed incorrectly In SCCM Packages Import the special value 1 (Description) is not set In Patch Import The special value 1 (severity) is not set Settings on the DP for compression are disabled. Please save and reopen the dialog for editing Maintenance window of the SCCM Agent prevents the immediate installation of an EM Agent Push installation Example File for Import Variable does not work if the content in IE was manually copied to a file Affected Components

9 5. Known Issues Known Issues listed below were reported while the code freeze of this Release was already reached. Description In OSD task creation it is not possible to set Allow Remote Download.
