4 1 Overview Preposition Aim of the application This application was generated in order to show users the possibility of MOP setpoint tracking (following) another setpoint source to bumplessly changeover the setpoint. This application shows how this task can be solved using free function blocks. Further, the use of scripts is briefly described. Scope The following core points are discussed in this application: Parameterization of the MOP setpoint tracking Using scripts in STARTER to change parameters Exclusion This application only applies to MICROMASTER 4 and SINAMICS G120 CU s with Firmware < V4.0. For newer SINAMICS G120 CUs (depending on type and firmware) the FAQ with Entry-ID describes the solution. This application does not include any description about the following STARTER 4.0 commissioning tool Basic commissioning of the drive inverter Commissioning higher-level controls It is assumed that the reader has basic knowledge about these subjects. Application description In some applications it is necessary to changeover the setpoint from main setpoint 1 (HSW 1) to main setpoint 2 (HSW 2) (e.g. AUTO / MANUAL changeover) without setpoint steps occurring (i.e. bumplessly). This is possible if HSW 2 tracks (follows) HSW 1 so that HSW 2 HSW 1. In this case, there is no setpoint step when changing over from HSW 1 to HSW 2. The tracking of the MOP setpoint (HSW 2) to HSW 1 is discussed in this example. Any setpoint can be selected as HSW 1 (e.g. analog setpoint). The function of a standard drive inverter is to be used to changeover from HSW 1 to HSW 2 (changeover between two command data sets CDS 1 and CDS 2) and is realized via a DIN. 5 1 Overview 1 Overview Freely-assignable function blocks can be used to track the MOP setpoint to another setpoint source. The MOP setpoint (CDS 2) should, with CDS 1 active, track the actual setpoint (e.g. analog setpoint) so that the setpoint step is avoided when changing-over from CDS 1 to CDS 2 (MOP setpoint). The setpoint in front of the ramp-function generator (r0020) is compared with the MOP output frequency (comparators CMP 1 and CMP 2) and a signal is generated to either increase or decrease the MOP setpoint. This signal is formed using timers T1 and T2. To reduce oscillations in the signals from the comparators, a hysteresis is realized using MUL 1 and MUL 2. The values of the upper and lower limits of the hysteresis as well as the times of timers 1 and 2 used in this example must be adapted to the particular application. Digital input 4 (DIN 4) is used to changeover between two CDS. The inverted signal (NOT 1) is used to inhibit the tracking of the MOP setpoint. The MOP can either be controlled from the operator panel as well as via control terminals; this will not be described here. 2 Hardware and software components required The description can be used for all Siemens standard drive inverters that have free function blocks (MM440 / MM430 / G120). These examples are implemented using a SINAMICS G120 with CU240S in conjunction with STARTER 4.0. Item-ID: , V1.3, 01/2014 5

10 5 Executing scripts in STARTER Executing scripts in STARTER 4.0 For fast parameter changes, you can use the attached script file "MOP.txt". NOTE Before you use the script, please set your drive inverter to the factory settings (P0010 = 30, P0970 = 1). The procedure in detail: 1. Save the attached script file "MOP.txt" in a folder on your computer hard drive. 2. Set-up a script folder for the drive in your STARTER project by clicking with the righthand mouse key on the drive; then click on "Expert" (lefthand mouse key) and on "Insert script folder". A new folder appears "SCRIPTS" at the lower end of the tree. 3. Import the script "MOP.txt" from your folder into STARTER as described below: Using the righthand mouse key click on the tab "SCRIPTS"; Click on "ASCII import..." and open the required script file; Assign a name to the opened file and acknowledge with OK. 4.
