4 1 Introduction 1 Introduction This document describes how to move a combined Process Historian (PH) and Information Server (IS) installation from one workgroup to another. 1.1 Scenario An existing PCS 7 plant of version 8.0 SP1 Upd1 is running in a workgroup environment. Into this PCS 7 plant one likes to implement a combined PH/IS machine. The PCS 7 plant runs in a workgroup with the name Workgroup. The PCS 7 plant was installed with the username Administrator and the password Password1. The OS machine user is called MyUser1 and the password is MyPassword1. The user MyUser1 is member of the local Groups User and SIMATIC HMI. As the PH Ready LogOn user on the OS system is the user Administrator with the password Password1 used. The PH/IS system was installed and tested offsite in a workgroup with the name MyWorkgroup. The PH/IS system has been installed with the username MyAdministrator and the password MyPassword1. 7 2 Workflow Regarding the user administration on Process Historian and the PH Ready user on the OS system there are different ways of configuration. This is one example. In this example the idea is to change as less as possible on the existing OS systems. 2.1 Installing PH/IS machine offsite The procedure how to install a combined PH/IS machine can be found in the Application Description: Installing and Commissioning of Process Historian/Information Server in the PCS 7 Environment in chapter 3: Hint One has to install PCS 7 V8.0 SP1 first and update the software to PCS 7 V8.0 SP1 Upd1 afterwards. 2.2 PH hardware installation to the terminal bus onsite Table 2-1 Step Description 1 Adapt the IP address of the used network card of the PH/IS system to PCS 7 IP address range. 2 Connect the PH/IS system to the PCS 7 plant terminal bus. 3 Check the network for existing relevant external firewalls and open all necessary ports for communication. 8 2.3 Joining the new PH hardware to the existing PCS 7 workgroup 1. Open the computer properties of the PH. 2. Change the computer settings. Click on the Change settings label. 3. Click on the Change button. Entry-ID: , V1.0, 03/2014 8

9 4. Change the workgroup name to the workgroup name of the PCS 7 plant and click on the OK button. 5. Click on the OK button. 6. Restart the PH/IS machine, click on the OK button. Entry-ID: , V1.0, 03/2014 9

The user who operates on the PH Management Console must be a member of the Administrator group. Therefore, during the commissioning phase, a user of the administrator group is recommended.

11 2.4 Create a new Windows user Create the same user for the PH as the one used on the OS System, used as a Log On user for PH Ready. In this example the machine user is called Administrator and the password is Password1, the user belongs to the local Administrator group. The user who operates on the PH Management Console must be a member of the Administrator group. Therefore, during the commissioning phase, a user of the administrator group is recommended. Hint Because of safety reasons it is recommend to create also a machine user which belongs only to the User group. This user should be used for normal operation. Create a new Windows user with the following steps: 1. Open the Server Manager, navigate to Configuration\Local User and Groups\Users. 2. 19 2.6 Configure the user as a database owner The PH Ready user does not need to be member of the db_owner Role. If one likes to use the user Administrator as a database administrator with full access rights of the PH Management Console, the user needs the following settings: 1. Perform a total compile and a total download of the OS Server systems. After downloading and restarting the OS runtime, the OS systems will start to establish the connection to the PH Commissioning and testing of the Process Historian.
