After we paste this link into the Remote Desktop Application, we will click Connect. 42

We are then presented with the login window for the Windows computer. Some applications will require that you add the port information in a different field from the IP address. PuTTY is an example of this, as it is an application that allows you to use Telnet or SSH to access your devices. The following image is an example of the PuTTY application. Notice how the fields for Host Name (or IP address) and Port are separate. In this application, we would have to enter the IP address in one field and the port number in a different field. If you want to use the Lava Tunnel feature on Bakpak with an application like this, you can follow the steps below. 43

Example 1. As an example, we will use PuTTY to Telnet into a Pakedge S24P8 switch on the network. First, we navigate to the profile page. 2. Next, scroll down until you see the switch, and click on it. 3. Click Lava Tunnel. 4. Select Telnet as the service, then click Submit. After the tunnel is open, you will have a link. The number after the colon is the port number that was opened for your tunnel. In this example, the port number is Copy the first part of the link, which is everything up until the colon. 44

6. Open Putty, and in the Host Name (or IP address) field, paste that part of the link. 7. Step 5 contains the port number opened for this tunnel. In this example, it is port 23488, so we enter that number in PuTTY and click Open. 45

Device management Device Priorities The Device Priorities page allows you to modify the priority levels for your devices. For additional information, see the section Scan for devices and device priority on page

Device Categories See section on above for Device Categories. Administration & security The Administration & Security page allows you: Create accounts for your technicians and assign permissions to them. Set up login security using two-way authentication. View your Bakpak DDNS entries. View your Patrollers, firmware release notes, and recover broken Patrollers. Patroller 1. The Patroller page allows you to view all of the Patrollers registered under your account at once. 2. Click Patroller from the Dashboard. You will see your Patrollers listed. 3. Click Firmware to see if there is a firmware update available for your Patroller. If the firmware is up to date, a green ring appears under firmware as shown below. 4. If there is a firmware update, you will be asked if you would like to update the firmware. The update should take about 5-10 minutes. 5. You can also manually upgrade the firmware on your Patroller by downloading the latest firmware from the Dealer Portal on the Pakedge website. Note: This may be required if the Patroller does not upgrade automatically. 62

6. After you have downloaded the firmware onto your computer, log in to the Patroller by typing its IP address into your web browser. 7. After you re logged in, click Firmware Update and go to the firmware file. Removing a broken Patroller You can also remove a broken Patroller and move the profile to the new Patroller. 1. Register the new Patroller like normal. To register the Patroller, see Registering Your Patroller on page Click the button. The following screen opens: 3. Select the broken Patroller from the Broken Patroller list, then select the Patroller you are replacing it with in the New Patroller list. 4. Click Recovery Proxy. Your profile settings will not be transferred to the new Patroller. There will be no need to set up the profile again. 63

Authy Management View section above for Authy management. Bakpak DDNS If you have created any DDNS entries using Pakedge routers, you will see those entries listed under this page. Accounts & Permissions After you have created your users and groups, you will be able to assign them permissions. This will define what they can and cannot do. In the following section, you will learn about the five different permissions you can assign. To assign permissions: 1. Navigate to Administration > Accounts & Permissions. 2. Click Permissions on the group you would like to edit. There are four different types of permissions. Global permissions are the general permissions applied to all profiles. 64

3. Select your desired settings and click Apply when you are finished. 4. Patroller Permissions: These permissions apply to the Patrollers. Patroller permissions take precedence over global permissions. First select the Patroller(s), then choose the settings. Use Global Permission will set the permissions to the default global setting. Click Apply to apply the settings. 65

5. Device Permissions: These permissions apply only to the devices from the Patrollers you choose. Select the Patroller and device that you want to apply permissions to. Then, you will be able to choose which permission settings you would like. Click Apply. If you want the devices to use the default Patroller settings, select Use Patroller Permission. Note: You need to apply the permission settings one at a time for each device. 66

6. Port Permissions: These permissions override all other permissions. Port permissions allow you to choose which ports users have access to. Select the Patroller and device that you wish to apply the port permissions to, then select the port and permission settings. Click Apply. If you want the devices to use the default device settings, select Use Device Permission. Technician Management The Technician Management page allows you to create technician accounts. 1. Navigate to Administration > Technician Management. 2. Click the icon. 67

3. Fill out the necessary information. Be sure to specify an expiration date and set the account to active. If you do not want the account to expire, you can set the expiration date hundreds of years into the future. 4. After the technician is created, navigate to Administration > Accounts & Permissions. We will need to add the technician to a group in order to apply permissions to them. 5. Click the icon, then enter a Group Name. 6. Select the user you want to add to the group, then click Create. The group will be displayed. 68

Account settings You may change the display name when you log into mybakpak.com to give it a more personalized feel. To change account settings: 1. Click the Settings icon at the upper-left of the Dashboard. 2. You can enter a display name. Bakpak will use this display name on the dashboard. Click Update. 3. You may also change the password to your account. Click Update. 4. Bakpak will use the display name you specified on the dashboard. 69

Contact Us The Contact Us page contains contact information for the various departments at Pakedge. 70
