4 4 Release Notes LAW PreDiscovery 6.12 Release Notes October 7, 2016 Version The LAW PreDiscovery Release Notes provide a list of new features, resolved issues, and known issues in LAW PreDiscovery version The current issues may be addressed in an update or other future release of LAW PreDiscovery. What s New Known Issues Release Information You can subscribe to an RSS feed that announces releases and updates for LAW PreDiscovery and Early Data Analyzer. The URL for the RSS feed is: The following procedures for Outlook 2010 are provided for your convenience. For other RSS subscription applications, consult respective documentation for the application. To create a feed subscription via Microsoft Outlook 2010 Perform either of the following: 1.Right-click RSS Feeds in navigation pane. 2.Choose Add a New RSS Feed. 3.Paste the above link into the New RSS Feed dialog that appears. 4.Click Add. Or 1.Click File > Account Settings > Account Settings. 2.Click on the RSS Feeds tab. 3.Click New. 4.Paste the above link into the New RSS Feed dialog that appears. 5.Click Add. 6.Click Close. In Outlook, any notifications will appear in the RSS Feeds area of the navigation pane.

5 LAW PreDiscovery 6.12 Release Notes 5 Enhancements Enhancements - LAW PreDiscovery Annotations and redactions Upon TIFFing and direct export to LAW PreDiscovery, both the HasAnnotation and HasRedaction fields in LAW PreDiscovery are updated to Y if any redactions were applied to the file in DiscoveryIQ. If only annotations were applied to the file in DiscoveryIQ, only the HasAnnotation field is updated to Y. to Concordance Desktop LAW PreDiscovery can now export to Concordance Desktop. Import Null characters are now removed from metadata during ingestion. This enhancement, which applies to all methods of export from Early Data Analyzer to LAW PreDiscovery, helps to prevent issues when importing into LAW PreDiscovery. NIST LAW PreDiscovery now uses version 2.53 of the NIST list. Validate endorsements LAW PreDiscovery now offers a process that allows you to validate endorsements added to headers and footers. After endorsing, go to the File menu, select Administration, and then select Scan for Errors. Select the Validate Endorsed Images check box and click Begin. See the Scanning for Errors and Endorsing Headers and Footers sections of the Answer Center for more details. Known Issues

Category Issue Antivirus Found In Resolved In AVG Antivirus software may misidentify LawReportLib.dll as malware found in Batch We have corrected an issue related to splitting PDF files processin by bookmarks. LAW PreDiscovery was displaying TIFF files g in the image extension column but not retaining the TIFF image. Image extensions are now cleared after splitting PDFs based on bookmarks and the TIFF images are retained Batch ICS body content is now captured during the batch TIFF processin process g Batch LAW PreDiscovery no longer places "UNKNOWN" in the processin header during the batch TIFF process for MSG files. g Batch The batch TIFF process can now produce TIFF images of processin VCF files that contain Chinese characters. g Deletion When s were deleted from LAW PreDiscovery, the body of the was not being removed. This issue has been corrected EasyPDF and Internet Explorer 11 Text can become illegible on images of MHTML messages tiffed using EasyPDF and Internet Explorer found in ED Loader Custom page level field values are not carried over as expected when importing a LAW PreDiscovery case into another LAW PreDiscovery case found in and ED Loader We have corrected an issue that was preventing ED Loader from properly processing EML files Endorsem The image viewer does not display endorsements for ent some documents that have been endorsed outside of LAW PreDiscovery When exporting data from LAW PreDiscovery to a Summation DII, tokens are not exported to the DII load file. This issue only affects data obtained from an Early Data Analysis LAW Direct export found in

This happens for all documents that do not have a value in the custom field used as the file naming scheme for natives found in We have addressed an issue that caused an error when exporting raw images with LZW compression Text encoding settings have been improved to prevent Unicode settings from corrupting files in LAW PreDiscovery When the exported text exceeds the Concordance Desktop allowable limit of 12 MB for a field, the excess text will be entered into the next incremental field up to a maximum of six fields. For example, if the first text field is LAW_OCR_01, the first 12 MB of text goes into that field. The next 12 MB of text goes into LAW_OCR_02 and so forth until LAW_OCR_06. If there is still text to be stored, an error message is logged indicating that the text size exceeded maximum space available and data was truncated DOC token is placed below the first line in Summation DII, which may cause issues upon import in Summation We have corrected an issue that occurred if one of the fields imported from Early Data Analyzer via LAW Direct into LAW PreDiscovery included a null string terminator. Data in SQL Server fields is no longer truncated due to the way SQL Server handles null string terminators defect workaround fix When exporting a PDF with at least one attachment using the PDF Conversion and Combine Parents/Attachments options, the attachments are now correctly merged Extraction ZIPX files currently do not extract properly. Contents are not extracted and there is no error message to indicate that the contents are missing and Extraction By default, LAW PreDiscovery does not retain the PDF portfolio container. However, you can extract a PDF portfolio container file by going to the EDLoader.case.config.ini file and changing the OLE_IncludePDFPortfolioContainer property value to 1. It now points to the correct filename and path. This correction resolves an issue that was affecting the MD5 hash for NSF files with inline attachments. Hashing Version of LAW PreDiscovery included an update to dtsearch from 7.79 to The update to dtsearch can cause hash values for a specific type of ingested into older versions of LAW PreDiscovery (version 6.10 and earlier) to not match the hash values from LAW PreDiscovery 6.11 and higher. This issue occurs only for s with no content in the body and only if the file is re-ingested into a case after upgrading from version 6.10 or earlier to 6.11 or higher. If you experience this issue, contact Support for a run command that identifies the affected files IMPAI session An error condition with the IMAPI session may be reported when processing more than 50,000 s to HTML/MHT. Be aware that the LAW PreDiscovery installer attempts to install all Microsoft Visual C++ prerequisites, including: Microsoft Visual C SP1 (x86) Microsoft Visual C SP1 (x86) Microsoft Visual C SP1 (x64) - on 64-bit machines only Microsoft Visual C Update 4 (x86) Microsoft Visual C Update 4 (x64) - on 64-bit machines only Microsoft Visual C Update 2 (x86) Microsoft Visual C Update 2 (x64) - on 64-bit machines only The LAW PreDiscovery installer may hang when it attempts to install "Microsoft Visual C Update 2 Redistributable Package (x86)" or Microsoft Visual C Update 2 Redistributable Package (x64)" even if you have installed it prior to the LAW PreDiscovery installation. If this occurs, abort the installation, reinstall the update from the Microsoft Knowledge Base article "Update for Universal C Runtime in Windows", and rerun the LAW PreDiscovery installer found in Also in EDA for bug Installatio When Microsoft Office 2016 is installed on a Windows 7 n machine, an error may be displayed when installing LAW PreDiscovery.
