7 1 Product Introduction 1.1 Summary Hongdian Offline Storage 3G/4G FreeWiFi Solution consists of high performance 3G/4G Wi-Fi router (Model: H9303) with built-in Solid State Disk (SSD) and Cloud Management Platform (Name: FreeWiFi). As a Wi-Fi hotspot, H9303 3G/4G Wi-Fi routers will be installed in public transport such as city buses, coaches, tourist bus, subways, trains and some public places such as cafe, restaurant, station, terminal building and other places with wide Wi-Fi coverage range. 10 Figure 1-4 Modem1 match SIM1 card slot Step 3 Recover the outer casing and screw of H How to install antenna and power line Step 1 Locate the antenna interfaces, they are in the back of H9303, please refer to the following Fig5: Figure 1-5 H9303 back Step 2 The antenna interfaces are AP1, 3G1, 3G2, GPS, AP2(from the left side to the right side), AP1, AP2 are for Wi-Fi antenna. 3G1 is for SIM1 card mobile network antenna, 3G2 remain to be for SIM2 card mobile network antenna GPS is for GPS antenna Hongdian Corporation 8

11 Step 3 Insert these antenna interface according to your antenna with different antenna type tag, please refer to the following Fig6: Figure 1-6 H9303 antenna Step 4 Insert the power line to POWER interface. 1.5 The LED indicator function The LED indicator are in the front panel of H9303, as the following Fig7: Figure 1-7 H9303 front POWER: when power is on, the POWER LED is bright all the time. RUN: when device complete starting up, the RUN LED is bright all the time. Hongdian Corporation 9

12 3G2: If H9303 is dual module device, when SIM2 card dialup successfully, the 3G2 LED is bright all the time, if dialup fail, it will blink all the time. DISK: when device detect disk successfully, the DISK LED is bright all the time. ALARM: when device occur some issue, the ALARM LED is blink all the time. AP: when Wi-Fi enable, the AP LED is bright all the time. 3G1: when SIM1 card dialup successfully, the 3G1 LED is bright all the time, if dialup fail, it will blink all the time. GPS: GPS interface default is enable, you need to put GPS antenna outdoors, when GPS antenna search GPS signal, the GPS LED is bright all the time. Hongdian Corporation 10

13 2 Portal Webpage 2.1 Summary The portal is based on HTML5 to perform the friendly UI, it contains different programs, such as news, video, music,etc., it also provide many API which is based on HTML5 to customers to make secondary development, above all you can customize your light service realtime and these programs can be local stored, these are main excellent characteristics: Especially suitable for vehicle applications: Access internet via 3G/4G, Installation does not require wiring, starts automatically with power, easy installation & migration, meantime, it takes vehicle industrial design and industrial material, which can meet vehicle applications perfectly. Provide users with Internet surfing and rich local stored programs: When users see the local content in SSD, there will be no network traffic consumption with zero data cost. lightweight realtime program customize: You can customize your channel then present without delay. Full and Flexible API: You can use these API to make your secondary development quickly. 2.2 Portal Structure The portal resource of the device provides complete website function,offers the users with local website surfing and the Internet surfing, and also it can display the advertisement in each section of the webpage. You can customize your contents of the portal, another important, H9303 WiFi most support 60 concurrent users watching 480p*512kbps movie in the same time, if you import more high-definition movie(720p or up), the number of concurrent users will decrease. Here we take the standard version Porta resource to show you the detail contents of the webpage display. We take this portal package oversea_ as an example. 14 The following webpage images are corresponds to above-mentioned portal version. Furthermore, it may be little different between this version and your actual portal version for the update reason. Before Advertisement Picture Customize In this section the device manager can import the advertisement pictures, as shown below. We can just replace the pictures in portal to finish this. The advertisement picture contents and broadcast interval can be changed to your custom c ontent Following are the startup page, home page, level 2 page. Hongdian Corporation 12

15 2.2.2 Media Customize Following are the media display including music and videos of the level2 page. When you click a cover under the "Music" menu, then enter the level 3 page to play the music. When you click a cover under "Movie","Teleplay" and "Animation" menus,then enter it's level 3 page to play the video. Hongdian Corporation 13

16 2.2.3 Latest News Interface The portal has latest news interface as the following, for example if you have own news interface, like BBC news etc., the news program can be changed as BBC news program and it will update daily BBC news through synchronize with BBC news interface. Following are the news section of the level2 page. When you click a line under the "Headline","Sports" and etc. menus, then enter the level 3 page to view the details news Travel Customize This travel section can be designed other's contents according to your personal needs. When you click a cover of each line, then enter the level 3 page to view the details page. Hongdian Corporation 14

17 2.2.5 Internet Accessing Page Following are the Internet section of the level2 page to provide the user authentication for Internet surfing. You would better insert a SIM card in the device so that it can work. Currently we provide two type for Internet, which are without authentication and with Facebook login, as shown below. 18 2.2.6 How to visit local resources When you are surfing the Internet after authentication pass, if you want to visit local resources, if your domain name is 17gimefi.com(default value), you can enter again back to the portal home page, what s more, if your mobile phone is Android system, when you connect WiFi, you can install freewifi APP which Hongdian develop in your mobile phone as the shown below, thus you can visit local resources through freewifi APP How to update local resources It supports FreeWiFi Assistant tool update, encrypted USB update, and Cloud Management Platform remote update. You can just replace the figures, music and videos of the original portal resource for updating. Also,you can add more media file and edit the text contents in the portal, we will show you how to add and edit the portal resource in the following chapter. Furthermore, you can redesign the webpage as you like by the HTML 5 programming. After the new portal resource is prepared, you can import it to the device by FreeWiFi Assistant tool, encrypted USB and Cloud Management Platform. 19 3 FreeWiFi Assistant Tool Guide 3.1 Summary FreeWiFi Assistant Tool is mainly used to detect FreeWiFi router related status( interface status, system status ), portal webpage, update portal resources, modify FreeWiFi router configurations and export system log, it helps to know about FreeWiFi router every aspect more convenience. Before using FreeWiFi Assistant Tool, we need to download FreeWiFi router original portal first. 3.2 Version Updated FreeWiFi_DiagnoseTool_V2.2.4_ Basic introduction First Connection Step 1 Set your pc ip is x/24( not including , since FreeWiFi router default ip is ), here is one sample as shown below Hongdian Corporation 17

20 Step 2Power on FreeWiFi router and attach all antennas, connect your pc LAN to FreeWiFi router LAN via network cable, if you do not have one network cable at your side, you can enable your pc WiFi and join FreeWiFi router default SSID( 17gimefi ), please keep y our pc WLAN card ip is dhcp Step 3 Double click to run FreeWiFi Assistant Tool as shown below Hongdian Corporation 18

Import 7z file 7z is a high compression ratio file, 7z file is smaller than other compression files, when need to import big size files( update movie etc. ), it is suggested to use import 7z file to make it.(if 7z package could not be decompressed well, please compress to tar.bz2 package ) Step1 Take adding movie for sample as shown below Step2 Refer to FreeWiFi Portal Update Guide to get movie configuration file and movie store path movie configuration file: video/data/0402 movie store path: video/video Hongdian Corporation 29

45 4 Encrypted USB Portal Update Guide 4.1 Guick steps Before the following steps, you shall be familiar with the portal file's format and know the detail of the file's path of the portal folder. Encrypted USB Portal Update flow: Put content you need to update into Udisk, then make USB startup, you put your Udisk into H9303 USB interface, it will take some time to update auto, after updating done, H9303 will reboot auto, which is used for vehicle update in a bulk, please note Udisk file system format is FAT32. Step1: Prepare one Udisk(it is better >=8GB, it depends your content size need to update), then format it as FAT32 and insert it into your pc Step2: Run FreeWifi_UDiskUpdate_V1.9.2_ , then input default password: admin to login Step3: For example, we update one movie via Udisk, so we need to know portal movie store path is /video/video, so we can make folder path as shown below, please note need to create web0 folder at first Hongdian Corporation 43

53 5 FreeWiFi Platform Remote Update 5.1 Summary The FreeWiFi FreeWiFi management platform is an operating platform for managing H93xx series WiFi router of our company. For its more functions and features, we have prepared another article which is FreeWiFi Management Platform User Manual,to allow you know more detail of its usage. In this section, we would like to share the basic configuring steps with you. First of all, the device need to connect to the FreeWiFi platform, which can be called the registration. It should contain the registration information in the device's configuration, if register successful, we can view the device online status on the FreeWiFi Platform. The next we can manage the device from the platform, such as remote update the portal resource. 5.2 Register device to platform The registration setup is just required at the first time using. Here assume that we have new device and a FreeWiFi platform, we need to input the IP or domain of the platform and the related port into the device. If the device have inserted a SIM card, once the device access the Internet OK, its online status can be displayed on the platform's webpage. You can also ask us to help you add the platform registration info into the device in advance when at the factory if your device amount is large. First you should prepare the FreeWiFi platform account, you can asking our technical personnel for a demo account. For example, we get the platform URL as below Hongdian Corporation 51

54 And also the updateurl and update server link are as below. cli.conf update server freewifi.hongdian.com:8888/freewifi run.conf updateurl= Here we start to do it. Step 1 Open the FreeWiFi Assistant tool to connect the device, and export the configuration files. Hongdian Corporation 52

55 Step 2 Open the exporting cli.conf file, add the URL under "Server Remote Update" line,then save. Hongdian Corporation 53

56 Step 3 Open the exporting run.conf file, edit the "updateurl",then save. Step 4 Import the configuration back to the device Hongdian Corporation 54

58 Step 6 Login the platform to view the device's status The device is in the "Default Router" group of the platform for the first time registration If you couldn't view the default group of your account, you should ask the super account owner to assigned this device to your group. Then please follow the next content for assigned the device from default group to other's group. 5.3 Assign device to other group Once the device is added to the platform, it is in the default group as shown below. 59 Step 1 Use the super account to login the platform, change the selecting device to another group by clicking Adjust Group icon. Hongdian Corporation 57

60 Step 2 Use the general account to login the platform, and we can see the device shown in the specific group. 5.4 Remote update portal by platform Firstly, prepare the new portal content for replacing. The platform supports partially replace. When upload some files such as images or videos, to the FreeWiFi platform server, it will merge the folders with the same name, and re place the files with the same name.the portal resource is uploaded to the path: /mnt/web0/ For example, just replace some images to the path:../web0/advertisement/image. We should also prepare the same folder on the local PC: create a new folder advertisement, then create a new subfolder image in it, then place the new images in the subfolder. 61 After that, compress the folder advertisement to the package with the suffix.tar.bz2. (In fact, the device can also identify the 7z file, but sometimes couldn't extract properly, so in my opinion, if you want to compress it to 7z file, you would better compress the folder to the zip package, then change its suffix ".zip" to ".7z",as shown below). Then login the FreeWiFi platform webpage. Select: Business->Resource Management ->Add, in the popup dialog, choose the advertisement.7z (or advertisement.tar.bz2), compression package to upload, be sure the Target Path is mnt/web0/, and other settings can be default. 1) Upload the resourse to the platform, Path is the resource path which you need to replace 2) Select resource relate to the device group. 62 You can observe if the resource push success in Resource Interative, ps: resource push file limit to below 100M After that, we need to reboot the FreeWiFi or wait for 1 hour, so that the resource file can download to the FreeWiFI. After import finished, connect to the WiFi network,and open the browser to see the new change, if the webpage is not changed, please try to clear the browsing cache (Press ctrl+shift+delete to enter on PC browser.) 63 6 Portal Resource Customization 6.1 Summary We just mention above that you can just replace the figures, music and videos of the original portal resource for updating and you can also add more media file and edit the text contents in the portal. Here we take two example to show you how to edit the portal resource. You also ask us to provide a recording video guide for this. 6.2 Replace with the same name Step 1 Open the portal folder,prepare the new pictures for replacing, keep the name to be the same. 65 6.3 Add more resource Here we add one video to the portal resource for example. Step 1 Open the portal folder, edit the file./video/data/0401 for adding new video.and also prepare the new media for importing. Hongdian Corporation 63
