17 Add Drive Enclosure Add Drive Enclosure without shutting down the ETERNUS DX system An instruction wizard will guide through the installation Click icon "Component" select the appropriate DX system in the column "Category" and in the column "Action" click the icon "Add Drive Enclosure" Support and Maintenance ETERNUS DX80 S2, DX90 S2, DX410 S2 and DX440 S2 16

39 Recovery Utilities (1) Reset Backup and Restore Fail Recovery starts depending on the ETERNUS DX system status Status "Backup Fail" occurs on an ETERNUS DX system that cannot start up because an error occurred during a power failure or while turning off Status "Restore Fail" occurs on an ETERNUS DX system that cannot start up because an error occurred while turning power on Support and Maintenance ETERNUS DX80 S2, DX90 S2, DX410 S2 and DX440 S2 38
40 Recovery Utilities (2) Force write back Forcibly write back all user data that are left in the cache of the CM Use this function when data in the cache could not be automatically written back to the disks Support and Maintenance ETERNUS DX80 S2, DX90 S2, DX410 S2 and DX440 S2 39
41 Recovery Utilities (3) Force Restore Forcibly restore cached user data that was backed up from the cache to the BUD during a mains power failure If for example the ETERNUS DX has status "Not Ready", the user data on BUD will not be restored automatically to the cache when mains power is restored Support and Maintenance ETERNUS DX80 S2, DX90 S2, DX410 S2 and DX440 S2 40
42 Recovery Utilities (4) Reset Machine Down Recovery Fail Saving cached data when both CMs are simultaneously offline Clears the internal ETERNUS DX status "Machine Down" To finish off recycle the power Support and Maintenance ETERNUS DX80 S2, DX90 S2, DX410 S2 and DX440 S2 41
43 Recovery Utilities (5) Reboot All CMs Do not use this function unless a specific instruction is given by the back level support This is a function to reboot all CMs in order to recover from Machine Down Reboot will be performed in 30 seconds after executing this command Support and Maintenance ETERNUS DX80 S2, DX90 S2, DX410 S2 and DX440 S2 42
44 Diagnosis Disk Drive Diagnosis of selected disks This feature can be used after capacity expansion with new disks Running the diagnostics has an impact on the internal performance and it can take a long time to complete Support and Maintenance ETERNUS DX80 S2, DX90 S2, DX410 S2 and DX440 S2 43
