3 Chapter 1: Company License Key Installation Steps Chapter 1: Company License Key Installation Steps In order to install your Company License Key you should check the notifications and perform the steps below: Existing previous installation of Seavus Project Viewer If you are upgrading your existing Company/Enterprise installation to a newer version, then there is no need of uninstallation. The new setup will recognize the existing installation and will use the same install choices used during the original installation, including the License Key. For unattended upgrade, you should use MST file (read in more details in next chapter). In case you have other previous version of Seavus Project Viewer installed on client computers with different setup type than Company/Enterprise Trial, Standard or Concurrent, before installing the Company/Enterprise version of the product you will have to remove these installations. 4 Chapter 1: Company License Key Installation Steps Installing/deploying Seavus Project viewer in your Company Once the previous installation has been removed or if this is your first installation, please follow the set of instructions below for the deployment of the Seavus Project Viewer: Open your Seavus Project Viewer setup MSI file in an installation tool with the method and tool that you wish to use (Group Policy, SMS or other tool). The MSI setup gives the administrators options to open the file in installation tool and creating additional MST (transform) file which can contain customizations that the administrator wishes to provide to the end users (i.e. setting up the license key, the options to install shortcut on the desktop, etc). Create additional MST (transform) file which contains customizations of your choice (i.e. your License Key, shortcut on the desktop, quick launch, etc). There are many tools that can be used for creating the MST file. Note: In case you don t have such tool, Seavus can assist you in creating this file. For that purpose you can send to support@seavusprojectviewer.com with the following information: o the language of the application that you want to install o should the MPP files always be associated with Seavus Project Viewer o should there be a Seavus Project Viewer desktop shortcut icon on the users PC s o should there be a Seavus Project Viewer Quick Lunch icon o should the application be installed on the default location (C:/Program Files/Seavus) or other Publish the Seavus Project Viewer setup MSI file to the end-user computers synchronized with the MST (transform) file. Below you can see example of how you can synchronize them: msiexec /i "[path to setup folder]\spv_full_corp_[version].msi" TRANSFORMS="[path to MST folder]\spv_full_corp_[version].mst" You can additionally add at the end of the line /qb for deployment with basic user interface or /qn for deployment without any user interface. 5 When the windows installer runs the setup transparently for the user, the MST file acts as if the user has run the setup themselves and chosen the options preselected by the administrator.
