3. The device communication needs to be restarted manually post the upgrade to powermanager V3.4 SP1. For more information on upgrading a project, see the following section in the online help: project settings -> Upgrading a Project. Click here for further FAQs. You cannot install two different versions of powermanager (Example: V3.4 and V3.4 SP1) on a single system Recovering the Advanced Report Configurations After you upgrade a powermanager project to V3.4 SP1, by default, the report templates and database file (Report.mdb) also get replaced. As a result of this, all the configurations made to the report files such as tariff sets, schedule, and so on in the previous version are lost. During the upgrade, powermanager creates a new folder in the report directory named BAK. This folder contains all the report files from the previous version with an extension.bak. For example, Report.mdb file from the previous version is renamed as Report.mdb.bak. To retain the report configurations from the previous version for the upgraded version: 1. After upgrading the project, delete the Report.mdb files from the following location: <drive letter>:\sentron\powermanager\data\xls_report\ 2. Go to the BAK folder created in the above directory. 3. Rename the following files: Rename Report.mdb.bak to Report.mdb. 4. Copy the Report.mdb files to the directory given in Step 1. The report window will now have all the configurations from the previous project Additions to the Certificate of License / Licensing The Certificate of License is part of the contract belonging to the scope of supply regarding use of software products for a one-off fee. Among other things, it identifies licensed software parts with their warranty classes. The customer is not entitled to make changes to the software. Ensure that you quote the identification number of the Certificate of License in all correspondence. If you want to use individual panels (other than the standard device views of the PM Explorer) you must have the EXPERT option package. 10 of 17 powermanager, Readme
2.1.7 Changing Archive Settings of a Project The optimal size of the archive depends on the number of devices that are configured. You can customize the archive size to prevent data loss and ensure effective utilization of the hard disk space and memory on your system. Note: The default configuration of the archive settings is for 100 devices. If the application has more devices, you must change the archive settings accordingly via the available predefined archive settings for up to 100, 200, 500, or 1000 devices in the application. To change the archive configuration, proceed as follows: 1. In the project tree view, right-click the powermanager root node. 2. In the context menu, select System settings. The System settings page opens. 3. Click the Device tab. 4. In the Database update group, select the Number of devices list box. The following options are displayed: Up to 100 devices Up to 200 devices Up to 500 devices Up to 1000 devices 5. Select the desired option and click Update. 6. Enter the password of the root user to proceed further. The new archive configuration will be applicable after the next archive file change. 2.2 User Information Information on Web browser information Ensure that the following conditions are met before using the Web view: You have started the Control manager of the Web view already inserted in the Console. Start the Web view using the following URL: (for example, Press the Download button in the web viewer to download the plug-in. Follow the instructions given in the setup to install the plug-in (the plug-in is downloaded from host machine). The buttons to access the online help and the report generator are not available in the Web view. It is not possible to configure the system from the Web view. The Web view uses port 80 for communicating with the server. The Web view can only be used if port 80 is not being used by other powermanager, Readme 11 of 17
applications. For example, by a Web server Information on the Expert Option Package To use the Expert option package and start the relevant configuration tool, start the corresponding user interface in the Console. For this purpose, close the user interface in the Console and start the relevant user interface with the -extend option. Please note that you can only start this interface with the relevant license for the Expert option package. (Order No. 3ZS2710-2CC20-0YH0) The device configurations should also be performed by means of the PM Explorer with the Expert option package. Please note that parameterization in the Para editor may lead to data inconsistencies Information on Archiving The default archive settings in powermanager V3.4 SP1 are configured for 100 devices. As PAC1200 and SEM3 devices are configurable dynamically at runtime, the corresponding archive settings needs to be configured by considering the following conditions: 1 PAC1200 (with all sensors connected) = 5 PAC4200 devices 1 SEM3 device (with all sensors connected) = 5 PAC4200 devices Information on Time Synchronization In order to switch time synchronization on and off, activate or deactivate the following two addresses: command set date / time command nanosecond Filter Use the wildcard filter mode to filter internal names only. The filter shall work only for the selected values and not the entire data set of the meters Information regarding powerconfig It is possible to work with powerconfig and powermanager at the same time. However, to configure a PAC3100 with powerconfig, first disconnect the communication to the PAC3100/PAC1500 device from powermanager. For PAC3200, the communication with powermanager and powerconfig simultaneously will work only from firmware version V of 17 powermanager, Readme
2.2.7 Information Regarding Distributed Systems Distributed systems enable the connection of two or more autonomous powermanager systems via a network. You can configure each subsystem of a distributed system either as a single-station system or a multi-station system. For further information, refer to the online help. Note: Projects from previous version of powermanager and projects from V3.4 SP1 cannot coexist Hints for Server 2008 R2/2012 R2/2016 and Windows 7/10 Ensure that you run the Project Administration and the Console panels of powermanager with administrator rights. For this purpose, right-click the Project Administration or the Console panel, and click Run as administrator Information on Polling Time From V3.4, due to Modbus driver optimization, there is an impact on the poll time as mentioned below: For PAC 2200, PAC3200, PAC3200T, and PAC4200 devices, the work hour counter values and Process work hour counter values poll at every second instead of every 10 seconds. For SEM3 devices, the energy counter values poll at every second instead of every 10 seconds. 2.3 Information on Reporting Advanced reports based on Excel To run the reporting engine change the security settings of the excel sheet Report.xls. Ensure that you enable macros and Active X in Microsoft Excel. Note: In Excel 2013 and Excel 2016 all menus specific to powermanager are available on the Add-Ins tab General In case there is no device data available in your report, update the archive structure for your project. To update the archive structure: 1. Go to the powermanager and click the Reporting button. 2. On the Add-ins tab, click Report->Configuration -> Archive powermanager, Readme 13 of 17
structure. 3. Enter the valid password. Default password is eradmin. 4. Click OK. 5. Acknowledge all the subsequent dialog boxes with Yes. Your archive structure is now updated. Repeat these steps when changing to a distributed system. For more information, refer to the online help Configuring Outlook Settings to Auto-Approve ing of Reports You can use the Schedule feature to reports to different distribution lists. However, by default, Microsoft Outlook displays a pop-up message asking for confirmation every time powermanager s the reports. To send an without Microsoft Outlook as asking for a confirmation, you must change the Microsoft Office security policies. To change the Microsoft Office security policy settings: 7. Click Start > Run. Note: If the Run option is not visible in the Start menu, on the keyboard press <Windows button> + R. The Run window opens. 8. In the Open field, enter regedit and click OK. The Registry Editor window opens. 9. In the Registry Editor window, go to the following path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\<Microsoft Office version>\outlook\security Where, <Microsoft Office version> is the version associated with Microsoft Outlook. For example, for Microsoft Outlook 2010, the registry version will be Note: If this registry path does not exist, create it manually. 10. Select the Security folder and on the menu bar, click Edit > New > DWORD Value. A new value is created in the Security folder. 11. Name the new value as PromptSimpleMAPISend. 12. Double-click the PromptSimpleMAPISend value. The Edit DWORD Value window opens. 13. In the Edit DWORD Value window, change the value of the Value data field to Click OK. 14 of 17 powermanager, Readme

The ComtradeViewer can be accessed from the following path: C:\Program Files (x86)\siemens\energy\comtradeviewer\v4_ PAC5200 and P855 Power Quality Events The powermanager displays the timestamp of PAC5200 & P855 device power quality events. The powermanager will not display the new timestamp incase the same event occurs again if the previous event is not reset in the device Manual Measuring Device The powermanager supports devices that are either not capable of or restricted from communicating with any external system. The manual measuring device feature enables you to manually add data of a noncommunicating device into powermanager VA and COM800 as Breaker Data Server Make sure that the 3VA MCCB is connected to powermanager via COM800 as gateway. Note: If any COM800/COM100 module is in active connection with powermanager, 16 of 17 powermanager, Readme
then the firmware upgrade of the same would not be possible unless this communication is disconnected. Please stop the active communication connection from powermanager to the COM800/COM100 module before proceeding with the firmware upgrade. Look at PRODIS for the new firmware releases and manuals. For setup you should use the newest version of powerconfig tool found at powermanager, Readme 17 of 17
