1 IT Help Desk/Technology Support website The IT Help Desk/Technology Support site has a wealth of information to use for troubleshooting common issues and tasks. Opening the IT Help Desk/Technology Support website The IT Help Desk/Technology Support website can be opened directly at or a user can navigate to the page from almost any SU webpage by clicking the Technology navigation link and choosing Help Desk from the menu selection. The IT Help Desk/Technology Support website The IT Help Desk/Technology Support website s main page has a lot of information on it right off the bat. On the page itself, we have several alerts and headlines, including: IT Information. This section has information directed at a specific audience, like new faculty and new students. Scheduled Downtime. This section covers any known outages. Notices and Alerts. This section covers unexpected outages and known issues. IT Projects: This section covers upcoming major IT projects. Upcoming Events: This section covers upcoming events on campus, and is a useful tool to be aware of anything that may be affecting IT. IT Lab and Support Info In the IT Lab and Support Info section, we have Today s Hours. This lists today s hours, and has a link to our full schedule.
2 Contact Us for Support In the Contact Us for Support Section we have the following information: Location and Phone number. Via Skype Call/Chat: Users can request a Skype call through our online ticketing system. Online: Submit Help Request. Customers can submit a ticket using this link, which brings them too our online ticketing system. Help Menu Search The first element of the Help Menu is the Search feature. This feature allows you to search the IT Help Desk/Technology Support website. Enter your search in the Search this Website box and then click Search Your search appears in the current window. The search contains not only search results, but it also includes a list of any new files that may meet your search criteria. Click View all new resources to view any new files that may have been found. Navigation Menu Under the search option is the Navigation Menu. This is broken up into several topics, some of which expand to reveal more options. Note that these sections and links are somewhat fluid and may change from time to time.
3 Quick Links The Quick Links section contains links to Submit Help Request and Password Assistance. If a user needs to reset their password or go through the password reset process they should click on Password Assistance and follow the instructions. Classrooms and Meeting Spaces The Classrooms and Meeting Spaces section contains information about classroom and meeting space technology as well as distance learning and wireless presentations. Computer Labs This section contains pages that are related to our IT computer labs, including computer availability, lab hours and locations, lab reservation requests and lab software. contains help for using .
4 Guides and Training This links to our guides and training page, which is a collection of all the guides and training resources we have available. GullNet This section contains information about GullNet and PeopleSoft. Internet Access This section contains links to guides and instructions on how to connect your computers and devices to the wired and wireless network. Information Security This section contains links about safe and responsible computing on campus. MyClasses This contains information about MyClasses for faculty and students as well as Turning Point (Clickers).
5 Printing Services This links to the printing services available on campus. Procurement This is used by faculty and staff to get information about IT equipment purchasing. Software This has information about Software related topics. Voic , Campus Phones and CATV This has information on how to get help with telecom services.
