CIST-0117 (Local Area Networking) or CIST CPU Operating System: (Windows XP) or CIST-0145 CPU Operating System: (VISTA) or CIST-0147 CPU Operating System: (Windows 7) Please check with the KCKCC bookstore, for the required text for your particular class. Participants will learn how to manage the hardware and software of a Microsoft 2008 Local Area Network, as well as how to set up users, directories and security. Login scripts and System Console, File Management, Sessions, Print Management and utilities will provide participants with the ability to implement the Microsoft Server Software. Preparation MCP for Exam A variety of instructional methods may be used depending on content area. These include but are not limited to: lecture, multimedia, cooperative/collaborative learning, labs and demonstrations, projects and presentations, speeches, debates, and panels, conferencing, performances, and learning experiences outside

Upon completion of the course the student will be able to demonstrate proper management of domain user accounts, have a working knowledge of Active Directory, explain the difference between the types of Servers in Win2008 Domain, and proper setup of DNS Service operations of Win2008. H. Upon completion of the course the student will be able to demonstrate proper setup of DHCP Service operations of Win2008, explain the benefits of multi-homed servers in a Win2008 Domain, demonstrate proper troubleshooting techniques in the operation of a Win2008 domain, and proper setup of a Windows 2008 domain controller or member server.
