Package Contents The Windows SuperInstaller is an easy-to-use utility that can be used to install the following components for the 2400/2500/8100/8200/3200 Series Adapters: * FC-FCoE, iscsi, and Ethernet Networking (NDIS) drivers * VLAN/Teaming driver * QConvergeConsole Command Line (CLI) Management Tool * FC-FCoE, iscsi, and Networking Management Agents to enable remote access using QConvergeConsole (GUI) Management Tool. The Windows SuperInstaller package contains the following: 8100/3200/8200 Series Ethernet Networking Drivers: * Windows Server 2008 (including SP2) x86 and x64 ( ) for 3200/8200 Series only x86 and x64 ( ) for 8100 Series only * Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 ( ) for 3200/8200 Series only x64 ( ) for 8100 Series only 8200 Series iscsi Drivers: * Windows Server 2008 (including SP2) x86 and x64 ( ) * Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 ( )

2 8100/8200 Series FCoE Drivers: * Windows Server 2008 (including SP2) x86 and x64 ( ) * Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 ( ) 2400/2500 Series Fibre Channel Drivers: * Windows Server 2008 (including SP2) x86 and x64 ( ) * Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 ( ) Other Components: * QConvergeConsole CLI ( ) * Networking Management Agent ( ) * iscsi Management Agent ( ) * FC-FCoE Management Agent ( ) 2. Requirements The Windows SuperInstaller requires the following: * 2.1 Hardware Requirements * 2.2 Software Requirements 2.1 Hardware Requirements The Windows SuperInstaller requires the following minimum hardware: * At least 300MB of disk space * Any of the following QLogic Adapters: - QLogic 2400/2500/8100/3200/8200 Series Adapters 2.2 Software Requirements The Windows SuperInstaller requires the following minimum Windows versions: * Windows Server 2008 (including SP2) * Windows Server 2008 R2 * Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 3. OS Support The Windows SuperInstaller runs on the following platforms: * x86 architecture * x64 architecture NOTE: For specific OS service packs (SPs) and updates, refer to the descriptions where this software version is posted on the QLogic Web site:

Supported Features The Windows SuperInstaller supports the following: * Pre-Install Driver * Install Driver * Update Driver * Normal Mode * Silent Mode * Install Ethernet Networking, FC-FCoE, and iscsi Management Agents * Install QConvergeConsole CLI utility 5. Using the Windows SuperInstaller The QLogic Installer package is an InstallShield EXE file (Setup.exe). To run the QLogic Installer for Windows in normal InstallShield UI mode: * In Windows Explorer, double-click the following file: Setup.exe 6. Additional Notes * To install drivers and application in silent mode: Setup.exe -s -f1"<local directory>\setup.iss" This command Will install drivers and applications but will not install VLAN/Teaming driver as it is an optional component. If the HBA is not present, the Wizard will automatically pre-install the listed components. * To install drivers and application along with VLAN/Teaming support in silent mode: Setup.exe -s -f1"<local directory>\setup.iss" -z"/vtdriver" This command Will install drivers, applications, and the VLAN/Teaming driver. If the HBA is not present, the Wizard will automatically pre-install the listed components. * To install drivers only in silent mode: Setup.exe -s -f1"<local directory>\setup.iss" -z"/option=\"1\"" This command Will install drivers [NIC, iscsi, FC]

4 but will not install VLAN/Teaming driver as it is an optional component. If the HBA is not present, the Wizard will automatically pre-install the listed components. * To install drivers only along with VLAN/Teaming support in silent mode: Setup.exe -s -f1"<local directory>\setup.iss" -z"/option=\"1\" /vtdriver" This command Will install drivers [NIC, iscsi, FC] and the VLAN/Teaming driver. If the HBA is not present, the Wizard will automatically pre-install the listed components. * After a successful installation of this package, to uninstall this package in silent mode: Setup.exe -s -f1"c:\uninstall.iss" After performing a silent uninstall, it is required that the user reboot the system. The InstallShield silent install script (named uninstall.iss) suppresses this reboot, but it is required. Proceeding without reboot will lead to unexpected behavior. * To Extract drivers in silent mode: For a system with a QLogic Installer already installed: setup.exe /s /z"/extractdrivers=\"c:\temp\" /logfile=\"c:\temp\log.txt\"" /f1"c:\extract.iss" For a system with a QLogic Installer not currently installed: setup.exe /s /z"/extractdrivers=\"c:\temp\" /logfile=\"c:\temp\log.txt\"" Note: extract.iss file is an silent install script. 7. Known Issues and Workarounds 7.1 Installation exits abnormally on Windows Server Core. WorkAround: Run the installtion in command line mode. 7.2 Driver fails to install because the Device Plug and Play dialog is opened. Workaround: On Windows system make sure to close the "Found New Hardware" dialog before running the Superinstaller. 8.
