2 Overview Because of the growth of 3G/LTE services, bearer networks are required to provide multiple flexible functions with large bandwidth capacity and low cost. The ZXCTN 6000 product portfolio is committed to build a high efficient and power-saving wireless bearer network, and benefit telecom operators market extension & service innovation. The ZXCTN 6000 supports Layer 2 networks, Layer 3 network, and service interworking reliably and concurrently. It enables service providers a graceful migration path to construct a converged packet transport network based on MPLS/MPLS-TP technology. It provides connection-oriented features of the traditional transport network such as SDH-like OAM, perfect protection mechanisms and powerful management, with the advantages of superior statistical multiplexing and flexible deployment of pure IP networks. The ZXCTN 6000 offers a wide range of interfaces with unmatched service flexibility. It enables service providers the ability to deliver mobile backhaul services, business-class IP and carrier Ethernet services, Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) and Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) private leased line services at speeds from E1 to STM-4, and Ethernet services from 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps. Features Any Service, Any Channel, Any Port The ZXCTN 6000 can support Layer 1 to Layer 3 services on single platform with the flexibility of any service, over any channel and any port with the industry most comprehensive and flexible multiservice interfaces supporting IP, MPLS, ATM, GFP, PPP, TDM, pseudowire circuits and link aggregation. A variety of line cards are implemented to support packets, cells, TDM circuits, and the mixing and matching of Fast & Gigabit Ethernet, optical & electrical, and multi-rate SDH physical line modules. Carrier-Class Reliability The ZXCTN 6000 is a fully redundant platform to provide carrier-class reliability. It offers a perfect endto-end protection mechanism for the services transported. On the access side, the ZXCTN 6000 supports Link Aggregation Group (LAG), Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP), Inverse Multiplexed ATM (IMA) E1 group and Linear Multiplex Segment Protection (LMSP) for the access links. On the network side, the ZXCTN 6000 offers multiples network-level protections such as protection Linear

3 Protection, Ring Protection and FRR. Furthermore, the ZXCTN 6000 provides Dual-homing protection to enhance the networks reliability when failures occurred at more than one point. On the equipment side, hot standby redundancy for key components like switching card and power unit are all supported. The ZXCTN 6000 can offer best-in-class high availability that is field-proven and time tested in more than a dozen carrier networks worldwide. New Generation Synchronization Technology The cost-effectiveness and versatility of packet transport networks are driving the convergence of services. The transport of varies services leads to the timing and synchronization requirements for the packet network. The ZXCTN 6000 enables carriers to provide SONET/SDH-like Layer 1 timing all over the network via Synchronous Ethernet. The ZXCTN 6000 also supports IEEE 1588v2 time synchronization over packet transport networks. Meanwhile, the ZXCTN 6000 provides IEEE 1588v2 Packet Timing Protocol to distribute frequency information through mixed networks and architect an LTE-ready network where both frequency and phase synchronization are required. As to the E1 circuit emulation services, the ZXCTN 6000 can perform retiming, adaptive clock recovery and differential clock recovery. Special straturm-2 clock switch control cards are provided for ZXCTN 6000, which can offer a highprecision clock source to support the 3 rd party network synchronization scenario. Flexible Interwork Solution Scenario At aggregation layer, the ZXCTN 6200/6220/6300 supports multiple gateway interworking boards, including ch.stm-1/4, GFP POS STM-1/4, PPP POS STM-1/4, SDH Gateway STM-1/4, CEP STM-1, ATM STM-1, GRE, etc. It can provide integrated network interworking solution, and fully satisfy the requirement of complex network scenarios in access layer, such as interworking with SDH equipments or routers. Special SDH gateway cards are provided by the ZXCTN 6000, which can support OAM, NMS and clock synchronization information exchange between SDH and MPLS-TP networks or between SDH and IP/MPLS networks. As a result, the seamless connection between SDH and packet networks can be achieved. Carrier-Class OAM The ZXCTN 6000 supports a rich set of OAM features defined in the latest versions of IEEE, ITU and IETF standards, including: IEEE 802.3ah IEEE 802.1ag/ITU-T Y.1731 Draft-bhh-mpls-tp-oam-y LSP/PW Ping/Trace, VRF Ping/Trace BFD These capabilities enable the ZXCTN 6000 to monitor the status of system and network links, measure the performance of customer services, and confirm the service throughput and quality according to SLAs. Convenient Network Management The ZXCTN 6000 can be managed by using ZTE s Unified Management Platform NetNumen U31, which offers Graphical User Interface and provides full operation ability including fault management, topology management, performance management, configuration management, security management, log management, maintenance management and various statistics reports. Meanwhile, the ZXCTN 6000 can also be managed and configured through Command Line Interface (CLI), offering diverse management options for different users. Furthermore, once ZXCTN 6000 is powered on, it can automatically communicate with the remote network management system, and can be configured by the remote NMS to achieve the easy featuring

4 commissioning and service deployment. The NetNumen U31 supports intelligent tools as follows. Automatic service cut-over tool Intelligence network expansion tool Batch update Professional optical power management subsystem Long-distance Transmission Usually, the long-distance transmission is utilized by using WDM. But in some scenarios, the distance between two network elements is beyond 80 km and there is no WDM device available in the same site. The ZXCTN 6200/6220/6300 solves this problem by integrating optical amplification (OA) function on the same shelf, and the embedded OA board can be used as optical booster amplifier and/or optical preamplifier with different power gains to enhance the transmission distance to much more than 80 km. Customer Benefits Evolutionary Migration of Legacy Networks The ZXCTN 6000 supports open, standards-based software and hardware to interface with legacy equipment and protocols.
