2 ARCHITECTURAL SERIES Series 417 KEY FEATURES/PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS Scale: not to scale The LouvreMASTER sun control shutter is designed for external sun and/or privacy control in fixed panels or moving panels in the form of a hinged, sliding or bi-folding window or door. The LouvreMASTER system has been successfully tested for compliance with AS2047 (wind and proof load). 1200mm wide door panel will withstand 2000Pa serviceability at 1/250 deflection and proof tested to 3000Pa. There is an awning/casement sash that will accept LouvreMASTER shutters and can also be fitted into Series 400 and Series 80 framing. Blades are 88mm by 14mm oval shape. The pitch for the blades can vary from 60mm to 80mm depending on panel height. The blades can be clamped in any position between open and closed with the use of an activation handle. 3 Series 417 Design Features The Elevate Series 417 LouvreMASTER shutters are ideal for privacy and sun control. LouvreMASTER shutters can be fitted into hinged, sliding and bi-fold Series 52 window and door panels. We have cut a dedicated sash for the Series 400 awning and casement window that will accept the shutter system. Using an inlay adaptor, we can also fit shutters into CentreGLAZE shopfront framing operated with jamb slide bar. LouvreMASTER shutters are operated with a custom jamb slide bar and conrods. Most products have the control bar through the centre of the shutters. We feel that the jamb bar is unobtrusive and has less chance of being damaged. Smooth clean faces on all shutter adaptors and blade. No visible screws or rivets. Inlay adaptors snap to door stiles and rails. Likewise on the windows,the adaptors snap into perimeter frame and mullions. Doors can be fitted with midrails. This allows the top blades to be operated separate to bottom blades. Combination units with glass and shutters can be fabricated, for example, with a midrail through door panels. Fit glass below the midrail and shutters over. Jamb slide bar operated with nylon activator handle. Bi-fold panels can be secured with key operated twinbolts. Aerodynamic blade. Inlay adaptors have rounded corners to soften the appearance and suit modern powder coat finishes. It's possible to fabricate LouvreMASTER shutters where the blades will go past the horizontal by approximately another 45. This would allow you to direct air flow and sunlight down towards the floor. The panel on the left shows the standard lever activator. We also offer an alternative knob control that would be screwed to one blade. 6 ARCHITECTURAL SERIES Series 417 blade control scale: full size The jamb (stile) slide bar can be located on left or right side. Conrods connected to slide bar drive the blades as the slide bar moves vertically up and down the side adaptor. The activator lever allows the operator to open the blades to the desired angle and secure. As you lift or lower the lever, the slide bar moves. We always use full blades, so as the height varies, the blade pitch varies between 60mm and 80mm. Minimum inlay height 366mm. 7 Series 417 blade control The slide lever is used to operate the blades. The lever can hold the blades in a relatively fixed position when it's pushed back down flat against the door stile. Scale: not to scale ARCHITECTURAL SERIES Note: The lever handle has a raised cam that jams against the door stile when the lever is pushed flat. The lever base plate is fitted 1mm off the slide bar edge. This allows the lever handle to overhang the door stile. PAGE 2.193

As you move the blade with the knob, the slide bar moves and all the blades tilt to match the control blade. Stop anywhere in between as required for partly open blades. PAGE 2.197

15 Series 417 AIR FLOW Air Flow Scale: full size ARCHITECTURAL SERIES By adjusting the lower start dimension (B) to 60mm the blades will tilt through 90 to approximately 135. This would guide airflow downwards towards the floor. Clearly nominate your preference when specifying LouvreMASTER shutters: 90 Blade opening. or 135 Blade opening. 16 ARCHITECTURAL SERIES Series 417 AWNING & CASEMENT WINDOW scale: full size Awning & Casement Sashes LouvreMASTER shutters can be snapped into Series 400 commercial awnings and casements as shown on this page. We have cut a dedicated double beaded sash to accept the shutter adaptors. Awning sashes can be opened and closed and secured with: Manual cam handles. Manual chain winders. Concealed electric chain winders. The sashes have been shown in the 44mm nailing fin frame. This could be any of the Series 400 or 600 CentreGLAZE, and Series 80 Narrow offset frames.
