2 Overall schematic connections for Pi SDR IQ/IQ Plus for Flex SDR1000 As the connection schematic indicates, we have to connect the Win/10 PC that executes PowerSDR to the local Ethernet network. Connection speed has to be at least 100MBps (100Base-TX). Another ethernet cable will connect Pi DSR IQ/IQ Plus to the same Ethernet network

3 Pi SDR IQ/IQ Plus jack pinouts Pi SDR IQ/IQ Plus, Speaker & Mic jack The Speaker & Mic jack, is a 4 pins 3.5mm TRRS connector, conforms to the OMTP standard. It provides headphones or active speakers drive. Mic connection provides bias voltage. To use both, for example separate headphones and mic, an OMTP splitter cable is required in order to have dedicated headphones and mic jack connections. 4 PowerSDR with Pi SDR for Flex SDR1000 Setup Software installation is performed in few steps, first is the official PowerSDR v2.5.3 application that has to be installed, then is the PowerSDR Pi SDR Extensions installation and finally a windows network/firewall configuration. After the initial software installation, comes the first-time PowerSDR application run and the rig (SDR1000) configuration. First, you should start the PowerSDR v2.5.3 installer It can be requested from Flexradio, or downloaded from here alternatively can be fetched from the pi-sdr.com downloads. Upon start of the PowerSDR official installer and accepting all the default answers (OK) these are the shown screens Click Next > Agreement selection and click Next >

5 Accept the default file folder, if user changes this, then it needs to be noted since it will be requested at a later setup stage, if file folder remains the same then it is ok. Click Next >

6 And click Install Reaching this stage, since this setup is for Flex SDR1000 then there is no need to install the additional drivers. Click Cancel And here click Yes

7 Click Ok Click Finish and that concludes the first setup stage where we installed the basic application, now we will install the PowerSDR Pi SDR Extensions

8 PowerSDR Pi SDR Extensions installation Now, to the next stage, start the PowerSDR Pi SDR Extensions installer, it resides in the Pi-SDR downloads page. Click Next If you have not changed the folder name in the previous stage, then just click Next

9 Review the GPL Agreement and click Next Click Next

10 Click Close and that concludes the second setup stage where we installed the PowerSDR Pi SDR Extensions. Next we will configure the Windows network/firewall.

11 We have to configure the Windows network/firewall in order for the PowerSDR application to be able to work in the local network. Start the Control Panel and locate on it the Windows Firewall icon. Click/Start the Windows Firewall icon.

12 On this screen, you need to click on the Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall on the left. Click on the Change Settings and after authorizing the changes click Allow another app.

13 On the presented form, select C:\Program Files (x86)\flexradio Systems\PowerSDR v2.5.3\powersdr.exe Via the browse button and click on Add Then a new rule allowing PowerSDR use through the firewall is shown on the list. Click Ok and close the form. Those three stages conclude the initial application installation.

14 After the application installation, there is a first run of the PowerSDR application where the setup wizard will be invoked regarding our rig. Start the PowerSDR v2.5.3 application from the startup menu or from the desktop icon. On the first-time run an optimization is performed

16 Uppon finish adding the radios, click the Use button in the SDR1000 line and the initial rig setup wizard starts Click Next

19 Here we need to specify the new interface, thus we select it as follows Click Next

20 Click Finish and this setup is concluded. Congratulations, PowerSDR v2.5.3 application is launched.
