10 SICAM P855 Recorder Functionalities Measurement Recorder recorder used for PQ reporting (f, voltage incl. unbalance & harmonics, flicker); recorder stores power values for a complete long term evaluation Event recorder records voltage dips and interruptions as well as overvoltage (swells) detailed voltage event information: event type, start time, residual voltage, duration, related phase Trend Recorder Continuous recording and long-time monitoring of events processed till 1/2 cycle base, allows for long term that events are visualized and evaluated. Fault recorder Analyzing the causes of PQ problems; Triggered by voltage events, programmable up to 3 s, 2048 sampled values each 10 / 12 periods with pre and post fault. 17 IEC : Class A and Class S Devices Application Class A This class is used where precise measurements are necessary, for example, for contractual applications that may require resolving disputes, verifying compliance with standards, etc. Any measurements of a parameter carried out with two different instruments complying with the requirements of Class A, when measuring the same signals, will produce matching results within the specified uncertainty for that parameter. Class S This class is used for statistical applications such as surveys or power quality assessment, possibly with a limited subset of parameters. Although it uses equivalent intervals of measurement as class A, the class S processing requirements are lower. Page 17
