4 Reviewing Teacher Grade Book Process (in PowerTeacher > Launch Gradebook) Teacher Verification of Term Grades Teacher Verification of Term Grades 1. Select appropriate course 2. Select correct Reporting Term 3. Click on Term in Progress THINK AHEAD: Printing NC Traditional Report Card? The Report Card Setup only lets you designate one term to pull comments from, such as Q1. It s good practice to choose the smallest term that is in all lines on Final Grade Setup page depending on the which Term is being stored. Teacher Comments for Semester 1 store term could include comments for Q2, E1, and F1. Designate that all comments be chosen and set in Q2 in the Teacher Gradebook. 4

5 Teacher Verification of Term Grades 4. Check Final Grades Completed 5. Add Comments 6. Click OK 7. Term in Progress will turn green with a green check and say Grades Complete 7 Final Grade and Comment Verification Report Report is run by the teachers after they have entered their Final Grades and Comments. Select a class and Click on the Reports icon at top of page in PowerTeacher Gradebook. Once run, the report should be reviewed, signed and submitted to the designated Admin or Data Manager to file. 6 Final Grade and Comment Verification Report Complete criteria for this report based on individual, school or LEA choices and click Run Report Layout Options are optional Final Grade and Comment Verification Report - Steps to Run Summary 1. Select a class from the Classes pane. 2. Click the Reports tab. The Reports window appears. 3. Double-Click Final Grade and Comment Verification. The Final Grade and Comment Verification window appears. 4. To use the default report settings, skip to Step 5. Otherwise, edit the criteria and layout information as needed. 5. Click Run Report. The Report Complete window appears with the option to either Open or Save the report. 6. To open the report: a. Select the Open Report option. b. Click OK. The report results display based on the parameters you selected. c. Note: The report opens in a new tab of the default web browser. Final Grade and Comment Verification Report - Steps to Run Summary (cont.) 7. To save the report to a file: a. Select the Save Report option. b. Click OK. The Save Report window appears. c. Enter a file name of the report in the Save As field. By default, this field populates with Final Grade and Comment Verification. d. Choose the location where you want to save the report from the Where pop-up menu. Note: Desktop appears as the default setting. If you select a different location, that location then becomes the new default setting. e. Click Save. The Final Grade and Comment Verification Report Complete window appears. f. Click OK. g. To view the report, navigate to where the report was saved and open it. The report results display based on the parameters you selected. 6

7 Final Grade and Comment Verification Report Teacher may print the report, save or print as PDF. If ing it MUST be password protected due to confidential information. Section Readiness Report Navigation: Start Page > Applications > PT Administrator > Reports Hover to see link Section Readiness Report 1. Enter the required information. 2. Click Run Report. The report results appear. Note: The report results are sorted by teacher name, by course, and then by term. The term column appears only if more than one term is selected. If more than one school is selected, the results are separated per school. 7

8 Section Readiness Report View and/or export the results Perform any of the following functions: o To re-sort the columns, click the column headings. o To teachers that appear on the report, click . The associated teachers' addresses automatically appear on the Send dialog. You can edit the list, using commas to separate each address. Click Send to send the report to the addresses listed. Reviewing Permanently Store Grades (in PowerSchool) Permanently Store Grades Navigation: Start Page > Setup > System > Permanently Store Grades 8

9 Permanently Store Grades 1. Use this Final Grade/Reporting Term 2. Save with this Historical Store Code The first character must be a letter, and the second character must be a number. 3. Exclude enrollment records where the student enrolled in the class after this date 4. Exclude enrollment records where the student dropped the class before this date 5. Include only enrollment records that are currently active and that were active on this date Note: If you leave the date-related fields blank, PowerSchool stores a grade for every enrollment record, including classes that students dropped during the term. Permanently Store Grades Filter Options 1. Store grades for currently selected (#) students only 2. Request that grades be stored only for a specific section 3. Student Grade Level 4. Track 5. School Exit Date Permanently Store Grades Credit Options 1. Term 2. Store 3. % of Course Credit 4. Show All Terms? Enter the appropriate percentage in % of course credit Blank Value This will store no grades and no credit 0% - This will store grades, but no credit 100% - This will store grades with full credit, should only be used with F1 9

10 Permanently Store Grades 1. Store grades for classes enrolled at Use to indicate whether to store grades for all schools or for the selected school only. For example, if a middle school student takes a class at the high school, the middle school must select this option when permanently storing grades. 2. Record the school name of IMPORTANT: TermID fields must match between the schools for the enrollments from another school to store correctly at the home school. Permanently Store Grades 1. The last options are not used in NC a) Options for withholding credit - only those items checked can cause credit to be withheld b) Advanced Potential and Earned Credit Options c) Variable Credit Storing Preferences d) Repeated Course Grade Suppression 2. Make a print screen of the Permanently Store Grades Page 3. Click Submit Permanently Store Grades F1 & A1 F1 (Final) grades: store with 100% Credit in correct Term A1 grades: store F1 to A1 Store with NO Credit on Final Terms that will be used in ATHLETIC ELIGIBILITY (On Year Long Courses store S1 to A1) 10

11 Reviewing Report Card Printing (in PowerSchool) Report Card Printing Start Page Select Students your option, by grade, All, select by hand then Navigation: Start Page > Reports > System Reports or State Reports > NCDPI Reports > North Carolina Traditional Report Card or North Carolina Standards Report Card Choose Options 1. Students to Scan 2. Sort Order 3. Include Principal Signature Line 4. Include Parent Signature Line Report Card Printing NOTE: Sort Order by Homeroom Pulls from the Homeroom value on a Student s Modify Info Page It does not pull from Homeroom Course Sections that have been set up. 11
