2 GETTING SET UP Under Building Regulations, Approved Document J, all work on a combustion appliance which is not a repair or maintenance will be notifiable work. 3 START YOUR NOTIFICATION To start your online notification, please click Register Notification, top left hand side of the page General Details GENERAL DETAILS Your Reference tab is a free format field for you to enter your customer referen wish. Work Completion Date As per terms and conditions, you have 7 days from the notification. Your Reference tab is a free format field for you to enter your customer reference or invoice number. You may leave this field blank if you wish. Work Completion Date As per terms and conditions, you have 7 days from the actual work completion date to submit your online notification. If the property is a new build and does not have an address, please tick the box shown. You will then be able to double click the field box Local Authority, and select the relevant authority for that property. 4 HOMEOWNER CONTACT DETAILS Name, Please enter the homeowners surname receiving their Certificate of Compliance. Telephone, Please enter the homeowners contact telephone number. You may leave this blank if your customer does not wish to be contacted. To find the property address, please enter the house name or number and post code. Click Search address. You then should be able to select the right address using your mouse. If the right address is not found, please use these simple steps: Check with Royal Mail that the address provided is correct Enter just the post code, with no house name or number before selecting Search address. Find the closest matching address and manually amend the House name or number field by typing over the text. Avoid ticking Edit all fields as this option may not work or assist you with finding the exact address Please take care when completing the address as any mistyping can delay the notification being sent through. This can result in the homeowner not receiving their Certificate of Compliance. Once you are happy with the details you have entered, please click onto the next step. 5 APPLIANCES This tab is where you will be notifying us of all the work you have carried out. You will see 2 options; add Approved and Unlisted. Approved appliances are listed in our HETAS guide. Not all appliances have been uploaded so if you are struggling to find your appliance under this field, please list the appliance as Unlisted. Unlisted appliances are not listed in The Official Guide to HETAS Approved Products & Services. Please list all chimney systems and liners as an unlisted appliance. You may only notify 3 items in this field. If you have installed more than 3 items (i.e. 3 stoves, 3 liners), then you will need to add another notification for the other items. notification for the other items. 1 notification = 1 credit 1 notification = 1 credit Don t forget to add any additional appliances e.g.: Liners
6 APPROVED APPLIANCES Complete all the tabs to enter the work that has been completed. Operative enter the HETAS installers name or HETAS ID number in this field. Select their details with your mouse Installation type list the type of installation by double clicking the box and selecting the relevant type with your mouse Manufacturer please enter the name of the appliance manufacturer. Model please enter the name of the appliance model. Installation replaces list what this installation has replaced by double clicking the box and selecting the relevant type with your mouse. If none of the options are applicable, you may leave this field blank. Do not type any chimney systems/liners in this field. All chimney systems/liners muct be entered as a new line. Description/Location of install this area is a free format field for you to enter any vital information. You must ensure that you enter the location of the installation in the property (i.e. Lounge, Dining Room, Kitchen) If you installed a chimney system and/or a flue liner, the please add Non Approved Appliance and list the details under a new line.

8 EXAMPLES OF COMPLETED NOTIFICATION WORK IN STEP 3 APPLIANCES TAB
9 REVIEW AND FINISH In Step 4, you must carefully check all the information you have entered. You can make any changes at this stage by clicking each of the tab functions with your mouse. Do not click the Back button located in the top left hand corner as this will delete all the work you have entered so far and will not send the notification through. Once you are happy with the details you have entered, tick the box As the Competent Person responsible for the work described on this form, I confirm that the appliance and associated work has been installed in accordance with Regulations 4 & 7 of the Building Regulations and is safe for use The Submit button will then appear select this button with your mouse, pressing once. ect this button with your mouse, pressing once. Do not leave the browser - wait until the next screen appears..
10 BELOW IS AN EXAMPLE OF THE SCREEN YOU WILL SEE ONCE YOU HAVE SELECTED THE SUBMIT NOTIFICATION BUTTON Make a note of the notification reference on your paperwork i.e. customer invoice You will notice Sent to Local Authority and Sent to Homeowner fields show as pending. This is because every Friday, all the date submitted online is sent to each relevant Local Authority. We will then produce a Certificate of Compliance and send direct to the homeowner. This may take 6-8 weeks for the homeowner to receive. If you customer requires an additional copy of their Certificate of Compliance - fees may apply.
