He has been leading Morpho Biometric research activity for more than 14 years and has been involved in all of Morpho's breakthroughs in biometrics of the past 20 years. His achievements include the development of biometric algorithms and of innovative biometric sensors, the implementation of biometric algorithms in smart cards or the design of scalable architecture for very large biometric systems such as the FBI or UID in India. Moderator: Max Snijder 11:30 Closing 12:00-13:30 Networking lunch Keynote Testing and Certification in Biometrics Speaker: Nils Tekampe Nils Tekampe has been working in the area of independent evaluation and certification of biometric technology for the last decade. He is specifically focusing on dedicated aspects of biometric systems when undergoing evaluation and certification in existing schemes like Common Criteria. His work led to the first Common Criteria evaluation of a biometric system in Europe and to the clarification of many basic aspects in certification around biometrics. Nils Tekampe is a member of ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 27 where he fills the role of the Liaison Officer to ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 37. At TÜViT he heads the biometric laboratory that is qualified for evaluations and tests of biometric systems and components after criteria defined by the German Information Security Agency (BSI) - the Technical Guidelines, Common Criteria and other relevant ISO standards. 3

For timetable details, you may refer to the Swiss federal railways ( ). By car From Geneva, take the highway to Lausanne. In Lausanne, take the highway direction Gd-St-Bernard/ Martigny. Take the exit Martigny Fully and at the second roundabout take the 4th (last) exit to go in the direction of Centre du Parc. Rue Marconi is the 2nd street on your right and you will see that Idiap is on the left hand side of the street. There are visitor parking places in front of the building that can be used. By train There are many trains to Martigny from Geneva, Bern, Zurich or Milan. For timetable details, you may refer to the Swiss federal railways ( ). By walk from the train station Idiap (Centre du Parc) is accessible from the train station (5-10 minutes). From the under rail tunnel just follow the sign Centre du Parc bringing you to the back of the train station (opposite of the city center). Following this sign, you will reach Idiap in a nice easy (out of traffic) walk and you will quickly see the building from a distance. Google Maps link 4
