1 ESL Student Demographics and Achievements (2004 to 2013) Scope of Analysis: Population: Students who passed any one or more of the English 80/82/83/361/362/363 courses Time range for the analysis: Summer 2004 to Spring 2013 Demographic Elements: Age, Gender, Language, Education Status & Educational Goal Achievement Elements: Progression to transfer level English, Number of Degree Applicable Units completed & Awards. Enrollment Unless otherwise specified, the remainder of data reported for this analysis is an aggregate of all 6 ESL courses across the 9 year span. Of those who passed 80, 11% also passed 101. Similarly, while 63% of the students who passed 363 attempted transfer level, 101 coursework, more than half (56%) of them successfully completed 101. Degree Applicable Units: On average, a student in any one of the 6 courses has completed 38 degree applicable units (DAU). The students enrolled in courses that are higher in the sequence have more total units and more Degree Applicable units than students at the lower levels of the sequence.
