3 ECC WEBSITE 1. Go to the El Camino College website, 2. In the top-right, click on Apply 3. Scroll down and click Begin Application for El Camino College button

4 OPENCCC ACCOUNT If this is your first time applying to California Community College, click Create an Account. If you previously created an OpenCCC account, instead click Sign In.

5 OPENCCC ACCOUNT Forgot Your Account Information? If you previously created an OpenCCC account and forgot your username or password, click the Forgot? tab for recovery options. 1. Confirm your Date of Birth and First, Middle, and Last Name. 2. Confirm one of these four options. Still Can t Sign In? Call or support@openccc.net

6 OPENCCC ACCOUNT Complete your OpenCCC account by filling in your personal information. No middle name? Click this checkbox.

7 OPENCCC ACCOUNT Complete your OpenCCC account by filling in your personal information. Click here if you have a SSN Or click here if you have never had a SSN, then confirm on next screen

8 OPENCCC ACCOUNT Before clicking Create My Account, make sure to click the security checkbox labeled I m not a robot. You may also be prompted to perform an additional security challenge to submit the form.

9 OPENCCC ACCOUNT Once your account is created you will see this screen. Write down your OpenCCC username/password in a safe place. NOTE: You have not yet submitted an application. CCCID is not your student ID number. Click Continue to proceed to the application.

10 START YOUR APPLICATION Click Start Application to begin your application for admission.

11 ENROLLMENT INFORMATION 1. Select the Term that you are applying for (i.e. Fall 2018) 2. Select your own personal Educational Goal (i.e. obtain an Associates Degree and transfer, earn a Career Technical Certificate, etc.) 3. Select your Intended Major/Program of Study (This is just a starting point for admission purposes. If you are unsure, make your best guess and you can always change it later.) Click the Continue button when finished with each page. Each page is automatically saved every time you click continue.

12 ACCOUNT AND MAILING INFO Verify that your Account and Mailing Information is correct. Need to make a correction? Click the Edit Account button in the top right-hand corner of this page. Is your mailing address the same as your permanent address? If yes, click the check box saying so and the bottom half of the page disappears.

13 PERSONAL INFORMATION For Gender/Transgender and Sexual Orientation, select the options you best identify with, or you can select Decline to State. Information collected here is for demographic purposes only. Select your parents or guardians highest level of education, and one or more race/ethnicity.

14 EDUCATION INFORMATION Make sure to answer these questions with the stated date in mind. Select a State and begin to type in a high school name. Then select your high school from the drop-down menu. If you will have graduated high school by the stated date, select Receieved HS Diploma from U.S School

15 CITIZENSHIP/MILITARY STATUS Are you a Permanent Resident or Visa Holder? Please have the following information ready: Alien Registration Number or Visa Type Issue Date & Expiration Date Undocumented Student? Select Other, then check the No documents box. Are you a Veteran or Child of a Veteran/Active Duty? Please have the following information ready: Military member s State of Legal Residence Military member s Home of Record Date of Discharge (if applicable) Type of Discharge (if applicable)

16 RESIDENCY Answer all residency questions as they apply to you. ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS CAREFULLY! Note the dates pertaining to CA Residence and Out-of-State Activities.

17 NEEDS & INTEREST Select any options that you re interested in or apply to you.

18 CONSENT Select an option. Information released for research and planning purposes only.

19 SUBMIT APPLICATION Review your application for accuracy (no changes can be made after it is submitted), then click the button to confirm it is complete and accurate. Lastly, click these checkboxes to electronically sign the application, then click the Submit My Application button.

20 WHAT TO EXPECT Right Away You will see a Confirmation page confirming your application for admission has been submitted to El Camino College You will receive an from OpenCCC with the details of your OpenCCC account You will receive an from El Camino College confirming your application has been received Within 1-3 Business Days You will receive another from El Camino College with your ECC Student ID Number and MyECC username and password Your username is also your ECC Address (available in MyECC or mail.elcamino.edu) Keep your username and password in a safe place Click the link to access MyECC, where you can register for classes, make a counseling appointment, view your grades, etc.

21 WHAT S NEXT? Financial Aid Need help paying for college? Apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) online. (The school code for ECC is ) Orientation Familiarize yourself with ECC and its resources! Your orientation can be completed online (in MyECC under Web Services) or in-person (contact the RISE Center at x7800). Assessment/Testing You need to take the assessment test if you are going to register for a course that requires placement, such as English, Math, or ESL. Tests are taken on a drop-in basis in the Assessment/Testing Center, SSVC Room 217. (Must bring valid photo ID and your ECC Student ID Number.) Educational Planning Meet with a counselor and complete an educational plan to identify what classes to take to achieve your educational goals. Counseling appointments become available every Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in MyECC (under Web Services). New students can also make an appointment with the RISE Center ( x7800).

22 WHAT S NEXT? Register for Classes Register for classes using MyECC. You can register on or any time after your Registration Appointment. In MyECC, in the Self-Service menu on the left, there is a Registration menu with options to view your Registration Appointment, add classes to your shopping cart, register for classes, add or drop classes, and see your Class Schedule after you register.
