1 1. Installation 1.1. Install from link for internet connection Be sure you have an internet connection. Download application from And install it. The application can be run on Android KitKat (4.4), Android Lollipop (5.0, 5.1), Android Marshmallow (6.0) and Android Nougat (7.0, 7.1). Recommended API from 21 (Lollipop) Install from QR-code for internet connection

2 2. Launch the FaceMatica A splash screen appears on the application start Once it starts it requests google-play-services libraries and it can take some time, especially on a mobile internet connection. User will be notified when the check is passed. Then the application may ask user for permissions (depending on OS version) and expects user to allow all asked permissions (camera, storage, internet..).

3 When all permissions are granted the application will try to establish connection to our server. In case connection is established it will go to the main screen. And it will show connection settings if it is failed to establish connection 10 times. It also shows connection setting if application runs for the first time.

4 2.1. Connection settings: Available settings: Facematica internet server: Default Vocord API_KEY: fcm2fe3dfa19924e3f c9adfcm Our API_KEY is set by default and it can cause side effects because we can edit albums separately. Default API_KEY can turn out invalid at any moment. Users should enter their own API_KEY to work with their albums. As a result of successful connects you can see main screen with a list of available demo.

5 3. Main screen Main application screen with a list of available demo User authentication mobile app demo shows the possibility of user verification inside custom mobile application (go to 4) 3.2. Face recognition demo shows the possibility of face recognition from photo and from mobile camera. (go to 8) 3.3. Additional floating button : manage user gallery (go to 10) 3.4. Menu->Login Opens connection settings (go to 2.1)

6 3.5. Menu-> Русский язык. Change interface language to Russian. Menu-> English. Change interface language to English. 4. User authentication mobile app demo (Login screen) The authentication screen emulates login screen in custom application. For the first time user has not been set and is shown as John Doe. It shows user name for already registered users. User can tap on the green circle to login by camera.

7 Another option is to enter by backdoor password (for the case it is registered for the user who has gone). Password: uticus If user runs the application or the first time and taps on green circle he will be notified he should register first. Tap OK will opens registration screen (go to 5).

8 5. Registration screen 5.1. Take a photo from camera. It opens camera screen. Good faces for verification are highlighted green. User can switch camera, select focus and flash modes. Tap to take photo. Camera in detail in chapter 9.

9 5.2. Select a photo from gallery. Selected or taken picture is to be processed to create a verification template. User can see Loading during the progress. The cut face will be finally shown as a success. User should type name and press Save button to save verification template.

10 6. Authentication Camera module automatically takes pictures of found faces. Taken face is to be shown on the left bottom corner and sent on the server to proceed verification. Once verification passed the camera screen will be closed and the Access granted screen will be shown. (go to 7) Back button fails the verification and returns to the login screen (go to 4) Camera in detail in chapter 9.

11 7. Access granted 7.1. Logout follows to login screen (go to 4) Change user opens registration screen (go to5) Floating button closes demo and it returns to the main screen (go to 3)

12 8. Face recognition demo Demonstrates the possibility to recognize face from camera and from photo Take a photo from camera. It opens camera screen. Camera in detail in chapter Select a photo from gallery.

13 The recognition results will be shown after image was selected or taken by camera. The good recognition results are highlighted green, otherwise red.

14 8.3. Live camera face recognition. It opens camera module. It automatically detects faces and passes them to recognition service Recognized name is to be shown close to the face. Faces that have been passed to recognition engine are placed on the bottom during the request. It supports tracker and the face keeps the recognized name without addition requests until its gone if matching result is good enough.

15 9. Camera Focus and Flash modes are to be shown if available for the selected camera 9.1. Switch camera. front back Flash mode auto. Flash will be fired automatically when required. The flash may be fired during preview, auto-focus, or snapshot depending on the driver off. Flash will not be fired on. Flash will always be fired during snapshot. The flash may also be fired during preview or auto-focus depending on the driver red-eye. Flash will be fired in red-eye reduction mode.

The speed of focus change is more aggressive than CONTINUOUS_VIDEO 9.4. Zoom controls. Controls allow user to change camera zoom. Controls appear at camera start if zoom is supported by the camera and also if user uses pinch guesture to zoom:

18 10. User gallery Enter name to filter by name or id Tap last entry or floating button to add new user. Tap edit button to edit existing user. Tap delete button to delete user from gallery.
